11th Philippine President Corazon C. Aquino: Woman of all Years
The entire nation is praying for the complete recovery of President Corazon Aquino. What’s bizzare about this story is that, while Cory struggles for her life in a hospital, si Gloria Arroyo naman worries about her boob job. To top it all, si Imelda Marcos naman is walang tigil ang rampa with her birthday a few days ago at eto, she wants to visit Cory Aquino. Hmpt!!!
President Corazon Aquino, the 11th President of the Philippines, was reportedly in serious condition last July 2, 2009. Since then, the entire nation went on a prayer healing process. To ordinary Filipino, Cory Aquino need no introduction. If one still has question about her influence, she can move a nation. Si Imelda, hindi. Personally, she is the greatest leader of my time – no matter what other ka-barrio says, I just hope and pray she wins this battle.
An inspiration not only to Filipinos but to millions across Asia and the world, President Corazon Aquino, the political widow and former housewife led a revolution that restored power to the people in the Philippines. At 76-year-old, she’s currently battling cancer and is confined at the hospital. She continues to be the icon of Filipino people power and has remained active in social and political causes even after stepping down from office.
I’d forever be grateful to Cory Aquino, the housewife who became an icon and am one with the nation in praying for her complete recovery, but above all, this is what I wanted to say…

nagizing ako sa comment mo yami! hehehe! it’s 1:52am na here litsi! hahaha! i guess, there’ll always be the argument as to whether or not she was successful in her governance given the so many coup attempts during her administration (haller senator! hahaha!) but i for one believe that wrestling gov’t powers from the marcos dictatorial regime back to the Filipino people will undoubtedly be hers and hers alone. that alone is one big gratitude that we all owe her.
Oo nga Reynz ilang coup d’etat nga ba pinagdaanan ng regime niya, but she still managed to be on top of the situation. And yes malaki ang utang na loob ng mga tao sa kanya and not to be forgotten ang mga tumulong sa kanya to be the country’s first woman president. At she gracefully exited after her term ended…’di kagaya ng iba diyan….you know.

Because she is such a polarizing figure, Mrs. Marcos’ celebration of her birthday with a lavish party enraged her detractors. Remember the old adage which goes something like — “the best revenge is to live well”? Well folks…… she’s living well at the age of 80 — she’s in the pink of health, she looks very good for her age (actually she looks better than most people half her age), her almost 1,000 cases have all been dismissed (save for about 30 more which don’t seem to be going anywhere), and, despite her tale that she is “impoverished”, she is able to live in a duplex Penthouse at One McKinley overlooking Forbes Park, the Manila Golf Club and the Polo Club; and is able to give out and attend lavish parties.
And her enemies? Gnashing their teeth and shouting that she should be put in jail and burned at the stake. After all the sh*t that she’s been through and after all the sh*t thrown at her, whether or not it is an act of revenge on her part and whether or not it is justified under karmic law, NOBODY can dispute the fact that IMELDA IS LIVING HER LIFE WELL.
And we all just have to live with that fact. A lot of us may not be able to grin about this, but everyone just has to bear with it.
