15th State of the Barrio Address (SOBA): Au revoir and goodbye! Barrio Siete is closing its doors.
It may not really be au revoir and goodbye because Barrio Siete is merging back to its mother ship – Reyna Elena.
May 17, 2009 when we created Barrio Siete. Interestingly, 7 months later we are now folding up. It was a nice run. A great run. An unbelievable run. In fact, we’re still flying high with our rankings – way better than Google! Nyahaha!
Anyway, here’s our excuse slip.
Maintaining a collective blog is a drag that B7 can’t keep up with, especially with our growing pains. While Barrio Siete enjoyed an unbelievable traffic and following, the traffic had an unintendedly affected the blogs of some of our writers. One of the things I did not like from B7’s rise in traffic was giving drought to some of our B7 writers blogs. Yes, Reyna Elena dot com was one of those that suffered.
Worse, Facebook, that backhoe Friendster-killer, the 800 pound gorilla is no match to Barrio Siete. While our revenue is $0, Facebook has a lot of zeros and commas too and guilty also ako for being such an active adik FB blogger! Nyahaha!
But Barrio Siete is actually not closing down. Andyan lang kami sa tabi. There will just be one big merger that’s going to happen, that is, Barrio Siete entries will merge into the mother ship – Reyna Elena.
Signs of times. Recession. Kelangan magtipid nang hosting.
Barrio Siete is not leaving with a zero rank that’s for sure because we’re still flying high. But in behalf of all B7 writers, allow me to thank you all for being with us, laughing and chit-chatting with us here. My personal thanks also to all B7 writers and those who have contributed their articles. It was fun, ain’t it?
Blogging continues over at Reyna Elena Dot Com. Yes, it will be Barrio Siete once again. You can contribute articles if you wanted to. Let me know if you are interested!

malungkot but all good things must come to and end. at least nasa height pa rin ang barrio when this ends. isa pa, andun pa naman ang palasyo mo Ate Reynz. puede pa rin kami maging iskwater doon. hahaha!

Hehe – ang consuelo, hinde nagtapos sa isang malagim na pangmama-massacre ala-Ampatuan…
Merger – signs of the times nga talaga; even time as a resource also has to be merged. Sa explanation mo Reynz – pakiramdam ko, parang buyout lang ng Washington Mutual ang nangyari hehe.
Walang pambobola – your blogging energy is incomparable and hard to catch up with for those who need to slow down, and perhaps, smell the durian hehe…
Perhaps – slowing down is also a saner option…

i am both sad and happy. sad kasi B7 has been part of my routine daily. after reading the news, sa pinas, sa davao, sa UAE, and my emails, ayan na, si mawawala ang B7. impak naka bookmark yan in case malimutan ko. lol.
Happy ako kasi ang dami kong nakilalang bloggers and I get a good dose of good reading of political, persona, funny, mga importante at walang kabuluhang mga entries.

Doesnt matter if the site is closing down or what. It is because the real essence of BARRIO SIETE lies within the bloggers – it is us, the bloggers that make up the barriotic fabric of BARRIO SIETE.
Its has been a nice run guys. Marami akong natutunan sa Barrio and from the peeps as well.

I’m going to miss B7. I must admit I learned a lot. Met lovely peeps… oh well everything has its end. kita kits na lang sa palasyo. hehehe.

Why not leave Barrio Siete the way it is without an update and put ads in it? Is that possible? Sayang kung i-delete ang website.
