1st State of the Barrio Address (SOBA)

Barangay Council, Barangay Councilors, Barangay Tanod, Kagawad nang Palarong Barangay, Ladies and Gentlemen… ~twirl~ *bow*…

Maganda tayong lahat sa umaga mga kabaryo! At ako ay nagdadala nang magandang balita! This is Reynz, ang Kapitana del Barrio with my 1st SOBA and that’s the State of the Barrio Address. Tandaan, SOBA at kahit ako eh tiga-Pasig, hindi yan SONA. Intiendez?!

I’m actually grinning like one hungry barriotic kid with excitement with the obvious reception that Barrio Siete is getting from everybody plus the fack that our Barrio Council is very busy. Their salary? Php0.00 por hora, truly below minimum wage.

We are dedicated to our mission of keeping social climbing alive to reach our vision of World Peace. We promise you, you will all love us! We speak Barrio Siete Language. We are so down to earth, naka-ngud-ngud nguso namen sa lupa. That’s why, meron kaming BHAG. Our big, hairy, audacious goal is to capture the world, one barrio at a time. Oo, mga kunichiwa! So, let’s brag a little. I’m liking it because true to what we have envisioned, so far our readers are coming from:

Please do not forget na Barrio Siete is only 2.5 days old and the traffic is pretty respectable if not unbelievable for a newcomer like us.

Kaya, marami pong salamat sa pagtangkilik ever, kaya naman we are very energized here and hopefully we could live up to the expectations na magdala nang kaligayahan to you all, hangga’t umungol kayo. Pramis. So, let me address a couple of things.

Disclaimer

We have not posted our Privacy and/or Disclaimer dahil nga our site is essentially under construction, kaso dinumog ang aming Barrio. However, this I say in the meantime, all views, opinions and comments on the blog entries and/or the comments do not necessarily reflect that of and/or owned by the Barrio Council nor of the Barrio Capitana. We will put up a page on this item, busy pa lang ang aming abogado notaryo, dahil tumatanggap pa sya nang labada.

Bahay Kubo

We did not expect na dumami agad ang visitors namen kahit na ongoing ang konstraksyun nang Barangay Hall, which is our website. As you can see, marami pang wala kami. Yong aming kontraktor, walang ginawa mag-lamierda. Palibhasa we are in deficit at kulang pa ang pinasweldo. Hehehe! So, the Privacy Statement will come, the Writers page will change, Recent Comments are still not there, kinulang kami nang pako. I called him last night, andun sa kanto, lapad ang hawak. Leche! Look nyo naman ang Top Commentators! Arranged ata yan according to suhol! Ni walang number of comments! Hahaha!

The Writers Page

Mali ang Architectural Plans na ginawa namen sa Writers Page. Gigibain namen sya. Thanks to Gloria Gamat who taught us the proper way. She will soon be one of our regular contributors. Every regular writer/contributor will be introduced sa Barrio Siete. One full blog entry will be dedicated to him or her. What you will see on the Writers Page will be a snippet or maliit na ipit and then a link to his full blown entry about him or her. So, I’m sorry, we made a mistake, so I will have to aske the writers here already to please send me write-up about you so I can re-introduce you to all the readers here.

Contributors

Everyone with a story to share and to tell, is welcome sa Barrio Siete. Kahit na yong mga nag-resign sa Kavilang Varrio, we have a category reserved for you. Kung wala, gagawan ka namen. Our requirements are very easy, tell us about your credentials, experience, accomplishments and do send us your Kodak. You must be real, dahil bawal ang engkanto dito. There are two ways to join:

1.) Be a regular writer/contributor

If you chose to be Candidate Number 1, please write one blog entry about you. We will publish it as an introduction about the writer and that would be you hahaha! Do not embellish and we hope they’re not fake. Understand, me Barangay Tanod kami. Naku! Male-lechehan ka!

We in Barrio Siete will not set the rules on how regular you post. All we know is that, if your understanding of regular means (1) blog entry entry per month, ipag-titirik namen kayo nang kandila. If (1) blog entry per year, leche mo! Chugi ka!

2.) Be Dayong Baryo

If you chose to be Candidate Number 2, that’s guest writer folks. There will be no introductory blog entry about you. Just tell us a little about you plus one Kodak.

Barrio Council

All entries, whether by a regular writer/contributor or dayong baryo will pass through Barrio Council’s scrutiny and analintek review. The Barrio Council does not necessarily have to agree with the entry, nor it’s views and opinions, but has the prerogative to edit the words if they deem it necessary, but not to change the tone. If it will result to changing the tone and content, we will let you know. So, please keep that in mind, especially if you don’t want your entry to be edited, because we don’t want you to rise up in arms against us. Of course, pag na-nosebleed kami, because we might not be an expert in a particular area, tatango na lang kami.

Time Difference

If you’re a Contributor, it’s important to undertand that Barrio Capitana is currently based in New Orleans, Louisiana and we have a 12-hour time difference. While you guys are blogging at work, I am most probably dancing with the ghosts and ispiritus here. Which means, I might not be able to attend to your request. So, patience with Kapitana should be the virtue.

Haplos

Finally, no blog entry shall go live hangga’t wala syang haplos nang Reyna, unless na me ka-date ang Reyna, then the Barrio Council takes over.
