2010 Philippine Presidential Candidate: Fr. Ed Panlilio

19 July 2009 21 Comments

Ed Panlilio ang plano nya to run for President. Ang bottom line kasi nito is the separation of Church and the State. Pag pinagsama mo nga naman sila, mistulang Iran. But does it really mean na porque merong “Fr.” sa unahan nang pangalan ni Panlilio eh this is now equivalent to the marriage of the Church and the State? Anyone? Anyone?

An sabi sa news:

“Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio’s bid for the country’s highest office has elicited worried, angry and even outraged reactions from his superiors and fellow priests in the Catholic Church and from Church members. San Fernando Archbishop Paciano Aniceto angrily rejected Panlilio’s plans to run for president and leave the priesthood. “Source.

Outraged? Alin ang mas outrageous? Yong administrasyon noon, ngayon at kasalukuyan na maraming dapat i-explika sa mga kurakot na nangyayari daw or ang pari who is wanting to have a change at linisin ang mga kademonyohan dyan sa taas? Simple lang naman to para saken. I am not endorsing Panlilio but at the same time, kung me matinong leader na naka-upo, I’m sure hindi to tatakbo as Presidente.

Panlilio has all the reasons in the world na lumakas and loob. He’s not a politician. Pour mois, that is good.

“The governor has removed corruption from the capitol’s contracts and transactions, increased quarry revenues to P430 million and prioritized education, health, livelihood and agriculture.” Source

I understand the concern. Pari si Ed Panlilio. Meron syang sinumpaang vocation. But am sure ang nasa loob nang puso nang paring eto must also the same as what we have inside our heart.

I once criticised Fr. Ed for his plan to run for President because from what I’ve read and saw on tv he is much hated by most of the mayors in Pampanga pati na rin ng Vice Gov.

Now I wonder why if they hated Fr. Ed kasi most of them ay hindi na maka-kurakot.

I will just wait and see. Observe muna aketch.

OT: Guys I read all your emails, hindi lang ako maka-participate coz mahirap sumagot ng email thru my mobile. Haha

i’m sort of in the same boat mel. all i do is just read what’s going on with this guy and he’s been pretty much hot in the news but it seemed to me that he is effective in what he’s doing kaya matyag lang muna ako. but so far as far as i am concerned, he’d doing pretty good. and you raised a very good point, ano ba talaga ang source nang panggagalaiti? hahaha!

      • Glo says:

i agree with you sistah mel…naggagalaiti sila kay fe ed kasi nga naputulan ang kurakot arms nila.

aabangan ko how things will turn out at lalong babantayan ko ang kilos nitong si fr. ed.

        we’ll wait and see. ;)

  • jeri says:

  • reynz says:

hahaha! i’m sure being an ex-seminarian you have the right feel blue and i respect that. but if he is the leader who’d be similar to desmund tutu ata ang nire-refer mo na south african, then so be it, dahil wala nang matinong leader eh!

Interesting pala ang buhay nito blue:

Since Lugo is not married, he recently announced the designation of his elder sister, Mercedes Lugo, as First Lady of Paraguay.

On April 13, 2009 — five days after lawyers for Viviana Carrillo announced they were filing a paternity suit against him — Lugo admitted he is the father of a child conceived with Ms. Carrillo, age 26, while he was still a Roman Catholic bishop. Ms. Carrillo’s lawyer says the boy was born on May 4, 2007. Pope Benedict XVI did not relieve Lugo from his vows of chastity until July 31, 2008.[17][18]

One week later, a second woman, Benigna Leguizamón, came forward in Paraguay alleging that President Fernando Lugo fathered one of her children in 2002 when he was serving as a Catholic bishop. [19] However, Lugo did not acknowledge this child as in the first case. Leguizamón then filed a lawsuit against the President demanding a DNA test. [20] Other Paraguayan bishops were reportedly informed of such allegations in 2004, but did not make them public at the time. [21] A third woman, pro-government political activist Hortensia Morán, appeared a day after Leguizamón and also claimed President Lugo is the father of her child — this one a 16-month-old boy she claimed she named after late Pope John Paul II.

Baka what made Among Ed decide to choose a different path eh talagang malakas ang silakbo ng puso niya to serve even outside priesthood. Baka naguumapaw sa pagiging makabayan tong si Among Ed.

I beleive it was a difficult decision sa part ng paring eto to thread this path he chose. Maraming pagsubok at pagtutuligsa siyang matatanggap. Pero baka may kakampi siya sa Taas. We can never tell naman diba?

Opinion ko lang to ha. hehe

Panlilio: It is God calling I run for president

Priest-turned-Governor Eddie Panlilio of Pampanga on Tuesday announced that he had decided to run for president in 2010.

“I have every intention to file my candidacy on or before [the deadline of] Nov. 30. I’m ready for all the consequences, including dispensation from priesthood,” Panlilio declared at the weekly forum arranged by the Catholic Media Network in Intramuros, Manila.

“Until today many people were not sure [whether] I will run. They only learned today; we are only announcing our decision today,” he said.

In Pampanga, reactions to Panlilio’s announcement ranged from approval to disdain. Fr. Raul de los Santos described the governor’s planned run as “quixotic,” while businessman Renato Romero, a former supporter, said he was “drunk with power.

I dont think there is something moral chorva with governance. The system is already corrupted and it will be an uphill battle para sa mga moral power rangers dyan.

Hindi yung moral this, moral that.

On the contrary, I dont want Ed Panlilio as president.

Nakakairita pakinggan yang statement na God wanted me to run blah blah. Reminds me of the 333 years of Spanish-Fraylocracy rule dito sa atin.
