A Day in the Life… Not Again?
Here they come again. I knew what I’m about to take when I decided to write personal experiences about my life in Olongapo, or at least parts of it. Heat. I’m about to take some unnecessary heat.
Of all the searches online regarding the 2010 presidentiables, presidential wannabe Richard Gordon had the most positive posts online, according to ABS-CBN reports published March 18.
They were right. In fact if you try to do a search, all you see are links to his bio and how great and wonderful the man is. Except to articles made by me here at the barrio, on my site, and by other sites who have picked up the story.
I pretty much have been going through the same experience I have had except that now, they spit on my face rather figuratively. My story’s credibility was put into question, which I don’t mind. I was asked to provide proof since the burden of proof according to one, was on me.
Well, like I said with regard to my stories, don’t take my word for it. Proof lies in the city where I came from. Motive was also asked why now, why not then? My only answer is for everybody to know the truth. And when is the better time than now that everybody might have a chance to listen.
We can argue all we want, but I never asked you who to vote for, but merely to see some truths to each and every candidate more than just what the papers say. For all we know, truths can be very much buried by excellent PR. In fact, just five days after my first article came out, another article sprung out on Phil. Star with the title “A Day in the life…”. Catchy yes?
It’s called excellent PR work.
So far, something positive have come by these articles. Readership have jumped, other sites picked it up, and heated arguments took place. And by my personal view, arguments are inherently good.
Those Gordon supporters have to celebrate as well. Because notwithstanding the negative affect of the stories (if there were any) it helped in making people talk about their candidate, and have given them a new enemy to rally the troops against, and another person to be to bullied.
While the election is heating up, some more jackos who are hiding from the closet have sprung up and came out in the open. One group of pseudo-intellectuals who split from the kabilang barrio due to “intellectual differences” had finally opened up, initially claiming and posturing to be for Money Villar and Perlas turns out to be actually for Gordon. Now look who’s talking. They even had the guts to say they were comparing substance and platforms when all you see on their site are Gordon propaganda.
Lila Shahani was right all along. With all the name-calling and bullying (imagine calling Cory Aquino a bitch) there is a connection.
Well, at least I have done my part to provide more leisurely activities here at the barrio, although nothing compares to the hate-mongering PR efforts of the utak talangka group to demolish Trixie and Reynz.
Okay, so we have something to argue about again, yes? But for all you out there who were just watching but kept on turning up the heat, I have news for you…
I got some more in store.

BURAOT is your quintessential skeptic but a not-yet-so-hopeless pessimist. Impatient most of the time, hence the name, he yearns to discover the magnanimity of the universe and the infinite folly of human stupidity (yep, that was Einstein's). And yes, oo.. he also want world peace. You can stalk him out at Anak ni Kulapo and I Am Buraot.

well, at least, for someone like me who’s got little knowledge of candidates like Gordon (although i do know about his SBMA and Senate) those stories were actually very helpful for me trying to understand the man in the story. your story though was truly something since that’s your own experience.
well, they can always refute them. so far naman ang argumento nila against the story was pertaining to some more proof about the hiring process, the incident in the hospital, it’s not Gordon it’s somebody else at worse even my motive.
kaya nga i dare them not to take my word for it. go and check it themselves.
sure Jet, pansin ko nga ini-ignore mo itong pge. wahahh!
For the record, I will ignore this personal diary page, because I have a country to save….
GO GORDON !!!
because I have a country to save…. — Jet
Fabulous! I’m glad it’s a country and not Gordon!
me too! love that line JET! tinamaan mo! I HAVE A COUNTRY TO SAVE!
that’s why i’m telling my stories. I HAVE A COUNTRY TO SAVE!
people, we got better choices.
Dick Gordon = Napoleon of the Philippines
can’t wait to find his waterloo…
Guys,
This entry is precisely about the smallness of our politics….
When can we all unite, envision and work for a competitive Philippines, where poverty and lack of education will become things of the past…. where there is prosperity and a sustainable national development…
But no, we are still stucked with our feelings, emotions, our personal experiences and our “what’s in it for me” mentality…
GO GORDON !!!
Jet,
if you would be so kind to re-read all my articles here, they are not “what’s in it for me?” kinda issue. please stay on the issues and not focus on me personally.
if you like Gordon and you would vote for him, i do respect that. i am not asking you to change your mind.
i know it’s hard to believe. Gordon is so believable especially on tv. maybe if you experience what other Olongapenos have experienced you would probably think twice.
now, you don’t want me to get personal do you?
@ Jet-
No point arguing here bro, it’s “unbelivable”. If we really look at the logic of the piece, it’s essentially saying two things:
1. “Gordon is evil because he made my life miserable” (argumentum ad misericordiam). Translation: kinawawa ako kaya please accept my conclusion, and…
2. “I know more about Gordon because I lived in Olongapo – he is evil, corrupt, dictator, practices nepotism and thinks that he owns Olongapo. And oh by the way, I can’t prove these right now. Just go to Olongapo ang gather your own proof!” (argumentum ad ignorantiam). Translation: I personally think this way so it must be true, IN FACT, I’m sure you’ll realize that these are all true if you go to Olongapo yourself!
Jet, I’m glad that you’ve made no distinction between your training in school and in the way you make a point. Great job in gracefully holding you ground.
we get it Kutz,
you are in love with Gordon. if you think your arguments are sound, why keep on the personal attacks. you are your own person, so am I.
i tried to be civil with you all as you guys attack me. but ganyan lang talaga ang buhay. you win some, you lose some. but then again, i am not trying to win any of you. you are already decided.
but let the others think and judge for themselves.
this is my story. if you think i’m making it all up, it’s up to you. kaya pala kinokontra na nung mga bataan ni Gordon ang stories by doing more PR.
katulad ng sinasabi ko, DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
kakahiya, teacher ka pa mandin.
Whoa!?
For the record, I never had and never will have a problem with your life experiences. I wasn’t there so how can I refute or support your claims? Nobody is saying that you made up your story. I respect your story. It’s your life experience.
I did not attack you personally, not even in that most recent post for Jet. It’s NOT an attack on you as a person, my dear. It is an attack on your written piece. I have issues with the way you string together your unfortunate experiences and point it to Gordon. I have problems with the way you perceive things how you present your perceptions as facts. To me, as a reader, it is your argument that is logically unsound, NOT YOUR PERSONHOOD. I’m sorry if you cannot draw the boundary between an attack to an issue and an attack to the person but there is.
BTW, hindi ako in love kay Gordon. Si Jamby ang crush ko. *Gwapo!*
sure Kutz,
you and Gordon do belong together. you certainly knew how to turn tables and make it sound good. you know the points raised, i know you understand. but you still go beyond the issues and stay focused on one thing, me.
when i say i don’t have a job, i don’t mean it’s me, it’s the other half of Olongapo who can’t have access to a job because of political inclinations. but of course knowing a person as biased as you, you wouldn’t focus on that but instead focus on me, even implying me to be stupid for applying a job that i wasn’t qualified for.
but then again, why do i have to expound on things? you wouldn’t see anything anyway. because from the very start, you decided not to see anything anyway.
so if you say “no point in arguing”, why are you still here?
you came here already biased.
Eeeeekkkkkkk!!!!
How did you arrive at the conclusion na iyan?
Ito lang ang point ko as a general rule: We should not make claims that we will not substantiate and simply direct our readers to do their own investigation and gather proof for themselves. We cannot write controversial statements and claims that are degrading to another human being tapos sasabihin nating, I don’t care if you don’t believe me, go to Timbukto and see for yourself!
*kablag!~*
Bad yan. Kung may mali sa argument ko eh di i point out mo. Be objective about it.
ikaw, ayaw ng namemersonal? wahahahhah! objective? wahahhaha! like one of my favorite line.. you wouldn’t know it when it hits you in the face!
model? sure. pakong bakya?
Oist, mga peeps, may kwento pala ako about kay Nonem…
Noong araw, may isang batang nagngangalang Nonem. Babae sha.
ako may wento…
