All Philippine carriers are banned and restricted from operating in Europe
So, Adam Carolla or Adam Corolla (kelan kaya i-re-recall tong si Adam nang Toyota noh?) lambasted the Philippines as a nation of whores. Tse! Hindi kami pokpok! Tarantado! Nabasa mo lang ang blog nang victorina! Yon ang blog of whores! Hmpt!
But there’s another story that’s a bit unnerving for me, although it’s a good story if you think about it. Why? Because it imposes something good.
But this is not something of a good news, especially if you’re seated sa business class with a glass of shoktong, taz bubuksan mo ang Daily Chika News and read that the airplane you’re flying unto Boracay is not the safest plane ever! Leche! Tumalon ka na! At sana me parak-cute ka or you have wings! Pero, magdasal ka muna before you do it. Holy Week eh.
But you should thank these Europeans for imposing their standards to the world. For if no one would – sino?! Si Paul Farol na kahit standard of living wala?! Who would police, control, monitor and impose these types of standards, who would look out for all of us, the travelling/flying public and barriotic socialite in Reyna Elena? Sure the news would piss off the airline industry in the Philippines! But! Keep it up! Ganun lang yon!
So, on March 30, 2010 The European Union came out with the list of airlines banned within the European Union. According to the EU:
“To improve safety in Europe further, the European Commission – in consultation with Member States’ aviation safety authorities – has decided to ban airlines found to be unsafe from operating in European airspace. These are listed in the document below. The first list includes all airlines banned from operating in Europe. The second list includes airlines which are restricted to operating in Europe under specific conditions”. (Source: European Commission on Mobility & Transport)
Of course, the Philippines’ local aviation was not happy and insisted on Wednesday that the country’s planes were safe and that the local aviation industry complied with international standards. Baka naman kasi yong standards nila was not upgraded nung mga lecheng IT people na walang ginawa mag-facebook?! Di kaya?
Pero eto: What I find interesting on the list is that, you don’t see any Russian planes listed. Ano yon?! Natakot ki Vladimir?! I wonder if Russian commercial planes ever fly to Europe?! But here are some of the Russian plane crash stories:
- Russian Tupolev 154, 2002
- Iranian Airliner is a Tupolev
- Russian TU-204 Aviastar-TU
Oh dear! Run! Reyna! Run!
The Russians are gonna be looking for me now!

“For if no one would – sino?! Si Paul Farol na kahit standard of living wala?! “
I think you are mistaken sir. Paul Farol has travelled to foreign lands. He’s been to Global City, Taguig.
I smell protectionism in this move…
WA KO COMMENT DYAN! ANG GUSTO KONG MA BANNED SA AIRWAVES SA US SI ADAM COROLLA, KASAMA NG MGA NA RECALL NA TOYOTA!!
hahaha! ano ka! Toyota is offering unbelievable lease prices! sa halagang $50 a month, meron ka nang bagong Toyota! hindi biro! $50 a month! Ang problema lang nga, takbo lang sya nang takbo haha
Ateng, di ba Lexus ang sasakyan mo? Kasama ka ba sa list ng recall? In fairness, kahit anong paninira pa ang gawin ng US automakers, Toyota’s customers seem to be in a wait and see mode lang. Kasi per business news, nag register ng profit ang Toyota ha. Di hamak na mababa talaga ang profit nila compared to Q2 last year pero profit is profit, hehehehe.
Q2 FY2010 Summary: Toyota beat analyst estimates when it posted a net profit of 21.8 billion yen in the second quarter of FY2010, which was 84% down from second quarter FY2009 earnings. Toyota attributed its profit to reduced provisions for its car leasing business.

daaaayy! 1 week ko syang di drinayb! natakot ako! Lexus naman was not in the list of any of the recall – naku salamat! hahaha! as in, i remember winter, i have to walk several block under 6 inches of snow dahil i did not want to drive my car. i had to wait for the official announcement from lexus, taz wait ko pa friend ko to assure me noh! haha!
I have a Highlander tapos yung family car namin eh Sienna XLE, hehehehe. Pero minsan pag nag skid sa snow, I freak out. KAsi at the back of my mind, andun na yung takot. My friend who bought a new Prius hybrid had an accident… nag left turn sa intersection tapos walang traction ang break kaya ayun tuloy tuloy sa curb!
This is sad news. This will cause huge losses to our airlines most especially to PAL. I wonder what’s their criteria for an airline to be considered as ‘unsafe’.
@Tyrone – The international airline authorities usually inspect a country’s carrier every year. I guess they have found some loophole on Philippine aircraft operations. This is too bad indeed as the tourism will also become affected by this decision.
Sad news talaga.
