The issue here is beyond beautiful photos.

It’s about the motive behind the photo shoot, what was Tyra’s point in doing this? Was it to raise awareness about the cultures? Did anyone learn anything about the cultures/ethnicity that each girl represented? Why aren’t they in modern clothing, because you wouldn’t be able to tell which “race” they were attempting to represent?

Distilling a people’s ethnicity and culture to makeup and costumes is wrong.

i can’t see anything racist here. God! It’s for art’s sake! And the pictures look GORGEOUS, why waste an incredible idea?? =\
Wala namang racist sa look nila, even sa poses.
JenniferAn’s shot looks so amazing! And the makeup of the models were great, and done excellently. WHY, why say that it’s racist.

Ako nga maputi pero i envy those morenas glorien kasi they can wear any color they like without looking dull. Unlike sa maputi na hindi naman lahat nagpa-flatter lahat ng colors.

i think the pictures are great. ewan ko lang kung bakit sobrang issue yan for most people. this will not affect their lives anyway. makitid lang talaga siguro yung utak ng karamihan.

totoo nga lang talaga that most asians gusto pumuti. for some reason, i am not one of them. hahaha.. di ko din alam. kasi morena talaga ako at ang jowa ko sobrang puti. pero di ko pa rin inambisyon ang pumuti. i love my color!!!
