Are they trying to drive a wedge between Aquino and Binay?

17 June 2010 4 Comments

I don’t know if Binay spokesman is trying to foment and/or drive a wedge between Aquino and Binay with his ultra-dilated version of the cold shoe conversation of Binay & Aquino at the proclamation. At the same time, there is always the usual apologetic line that they will accept whatever position that is given to Binay by Aquino. Then, what’s with all the anti-Noynoy media rants? It’s not needed. While I understand that the VP position in the Philippines has no official responsibility other than those given by the President, I see this as nothing but pressuring Noynoy Aquino to cave-in to the demands of the Binay camp. I feel that this is useless given that both camps should now be working towards a pro-nation working relationship by now.

On the other hand, maybe its about time to take a look at the Presidential and Vice-Presidential ticket why each one has to be elected. What’s the point? It’s even ridiculous when you have a President and a Vice-President with two (2) very differing agendas. Given that the VP position has no official responsibility, I see it as largely ceremonial. True, he is next in succession line. But when your running mate is left out, I see trouble and I believe this explains all the rants that we have been hearing and reading. Wouldn’t it be better that if the President is elected, his Vice-Presidential running mate wins with him?

Dapat i-fire ang spokesman na ire. The following brief exchange is what I heard. Pexman.

PNoy: Kulay tutong ba ang polished ng shoes mo, Nog?

BNay: Kahit bakyang papel, ready kong himudin, for the sake of the country, Your Excellency Abnoy!

i’m sold to your suggestion that if the President is elected, his Vice-Presidential running mate wins with him. This will also build confidence in the government since we have the 2 highest elected officials coming from the same party. a VP who hails from another party, i think, will not be trusted fully by the President. The President will always be watching his back, because the threat of deceit is real. The Philippines has a long way to go when it comes to party loyalty..I think it’s about time we return to the two-party system. And pass a law criminalizing party hopping!
