Dahil naging busy ang ang aming guwapong writer, sayang at hindi nasundan ni Johnonymous ang entry nya na to: PART 1: The Great Panggagago ng mga TV Networks! Makikita nyo ang power nang media.
Let’s go to Argentina mga kabarrio. Where is this place? Dito sya, sa dulo nang walang hanggan. Sabi sa Wikipedia:
Argentina has the second-highest Human Development Index and GDP per capita in purchasing power parity in Latin America. Argentina is one of the G-20 major economies, with the world’s 30th largest nominal GDP, and the 23rd largest when purchasing power is taken into account. The country is classified as upper-middle income or a secondary emerging market by the World Bank.
Kani-kanina lang, I was watching CNN, nung napakinggan ko ang news na to. It said na, Argentina’s Senate passed a controversial reform law this Saturday na sabi nang mga kritiko was targeting the media outlets that are critical sa government. Natalo kasi nang todo ang party ni Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner earlier this year. And she blamed the media coverage na pinamumunuan nang Grupo Clarin.
What’s the issue now? Well, yong law na na-approve will create a regulatory agency that will spell out ownership rules kung ilan ang media outlets that wil be owned and operated by one company. Ang intensyon daw nang bill na to was to diversify the public airwaves. Of course marami ang nagalet at nag-walk out sa Congress when they were debating the bill.
How does this work? Ganito daw po yun:
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, the bill divides the airwaves in three parts: A third of broadcast concessions would be allocated to private companies, a third to state broadcasters; and a third to nonprofit organizations. The bill would limit the number of licenses a company can hold, and it would set quotas for national programming.
Anong kinalaman nito sa Pilipinas?!
You never know until it hits you… Baka gayahin nung mga iba dyan!
