Ralph Recto & Vilma Santos leaves Lakas-Kampi-CMD and joins LP
Former Socio-economic Planning Secretary Ralph Recto and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos are a “big loss” to the administration, stalwarts of the Lakas-Kampi-Christian Muslim Democrats admit.
“They are a big loss,” party vice president for accreditation Prospero Pichay said on Monday, of Recto and Santos’s decision to join the Liberal Party.
Pichay said he was surprised by the couple’s decision, but said it wasn’t unexpected for Santos to join Recto whichever party he wanted to cast his lot with.
“If the husband goes, the wife …

With my usual coffee + keyboard combination on a dreary Saturday Philly morning, I was reading this article about a 35-year-old Filipino who tried to smuggle in 6.145 kilos of cocaine alkaloid but was caught in Cusco, Peru on September 30. Now, in my mind, why would Filipinos do that? Highly unlikely right? Then again, drugs in Manila is already a problem.
And it’s even more interesting reading the comments section. One said… “a drug mule is dalawang klase, ang isa napangakuan ng trabaho …

Game ka na ba Pilipinas? Dahil eto na si Edu Manzano as Vice Presidential running mate ni Gilbert Teodoro.
“I would like to introduce to all of you this morning someone whom Secretary Teodoro has accepted to be his runningmate and [a] person who has accepted the challenge of standing beside Secretary Teodoro in the quest to become the next president of the Republic of the Philippines and him the next vice president of the Republic of the Philippines. No other than former OMB chairman Edu Manzano,” …

Comelec have just disqualified LADLAD on the grounds that gay party are immoral. It’s the same shit. Gays are immoral. The first thing that came into my mind was, who is Comelec to tell us, we gays are immoral? We’re half-human? Can’t think straight? Dumb? Stupid? What? Worse members of the society? Lepers of the island? Ano? Because calling us immoral hinges on something that Comelec has a set of morally acceptable standards to the civilized world.
Wow! I’d like to know! Can you hear me Garci? I said, I …

Another barrage of negative ad campaign and lies!
I actually believed that Noynoy Aquino did nothing at the Senate! Oh mon dieu! Pardonnez-moi! Pati ako niloko ko na sarili ko, until one blogfriend sent me a link that would lead me to Jim Paredes site. What would suprise me was a listing of Noynoy Aquino’s Legislative record. All along, I believed my FB friend (who by the way is rooting for Gibo) that indeed, zero accomplishment si Noynoy sa Senate. I cannot believe this!
And so, I copied Jim Paredes entry for …

Marcos? Istatue?!
It looks like it. Although I’m pretty sure, Gloria Arroyo must be smiling because she could now say to Noynoy – “now you taste it!”
It’s more of the same or worse of the same. But these ones are even nasty. Why? Would it be fair to say that some of these were plain “users of Cory Aquino”?
And the so the presidential demolition job is now on a high gear. Political maturity will probably come till kingdom come or maybe when hell freezes over. But what’s playing out …

And so Noynoy wants out of Hacienda Luisita. You can read the entire article here: Noynoy wants out of Hacienda Luisita.
Hacienda Luisita is being used by the anti-Noynoy camp to demolish his presidential aspirations. As a matter of fact, I was in part, also swayed and/or had initial belief that all along they were the majority shareholders. In other words, once you mention the phrase Hacienda Luisita equals the Aquinos.
Not.
The news was very revealing. This was the very 1st time I found out that President Cory Aquino divested …

It’s truly election time in the Philippines. This is where the lowest form of the lowest form of any kind comes out. Forget about balimbings switching allegiances in seconds. Filipinos in terms of politics could be very nasty, to say the least, brutally low.
I knew from the beginning that Hacienda Luisita will be Noynoy’s biggest problem. In fact, I actually saw this coming.
I just received this from another blogfriend and I suspect that this will become viral and will be made viral by those anti-Aquino given the popularity of Noynoy’s …

And so Tyrone threw me a Richard Gutierrez for Senator question:
“Hi Reynz, in your opinion, which systems is more applicable given the Philippine setting of politics – is it the presidential or parliamentary form of government?”
Man, I’m telling you. This is such one heated topic. Parliamentary. Presidential. Which system fits the Philippines? In fact, this is the mother of all the fires you see in Congress – proposing amendments to revise the Constitution. Did I read it right that they passed this during the height of Ondoy? I think I …

Having lived in the United States for many, many years, I have come to lived with the two-party political system they have here. For the last hundred or so years, there have only been two major political parties here.
The Republicans and the Democrats.
To give you a fast-track American political history, it’s pretty easy how they became known as Republican and Democrats.
First, there used to be what they call themselves as Federalists. They were the ones in power with the money representing big businesses. Now you know who runs Wall …

Another truly sad day in America. True, recession might be ending because the last quarter of this year will probably show another growth. If that happens, that would be 2 successive quarters of positive growth officially ending the recession.
The bad news? Employers are just reluctant to hire. And the meager recovery for the last quarter could be in jeopardy. The news said:
“The unemployment rate has hit double digits for the first time since 1983 — and is likely to go higher. The 10.2 percent jobless rate for October shows …

You familiar with that guy? That’s the former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Buti pa sya. He was hired by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen as his financial mentor. O! Laban kayo?
Result? Nag-solian sila nang mga kandila. Ni-recall nang Thailand ang ambassador nila. Ni-recall naman nang Cambodia ang ambassador nila. Who knows baka ang susunod nito eh tagu-pung ang mga Cambodians at Thais.
Hudawhu?

Before, it was the formalin in white rabbit. Then, the lead paints on toys. Then you have the tainted milk. Now? It’s the Chinese drywall. Makes you wonder if what you eat at the Chinese restaurant are real.
I’m just curious if the Chinese and the American trade officials are fighting again. But if this is true, bee buti nga! This what we get by moving all of the manufacturing jobs to China. Grrr!

What a tragic day today in Fort Hood, Texas. I was glued on CNN this afternoon watching the events unfold.
A Muslim army officer about to be deployed to Iraq went on a shooting rampage at the sprawling Texas military base, killing 13 people and wounding 31 others before being gunned down – although the latest reports I’m hearing from CNN tonight was that the gunman was alive. Major Nidal Hasan, a U.S. Army doctor was identified as the suspect in the shooting. The first reports have it that he was …

Rihanna breaks her silence in an interview with Dianne Sawyer. Like everyone else, of course, I was interested kung bakit nag-bolt out si Chiz Escudero sa NPC. Ang naunang news was that, hindi daw nya nagustuhan ang meager P200 million campaign funds na binibigay sa kanya nang NPC. An sabi eh wez naman pala true ang balita. Me bagong chika and this is quite interesting. An sabi, the reason why he bolted out of NPC was because of 2 key empanadas.
Ang una was the legislated P125 wage increase.
At ang pangalawa was the proposal to condone billions of pesos in debt …
