Do you still remember the time when cops used to be soooo buntis kairitang tingnan? Not anymore. Although meron pang iba, most of them are now macho looking. Times have changed already. What I’m not sure is that, has their image changed? PNP has always been in the news. Always. I should know. Me na-i-tsismis samen ang mga tiga-Davao when we visited Beng in May 2007. They have been hugging the news all the time. So, when a friend emailed me this YouTube link, nakapasta ako sa monitor watching it. …

I am one of those who appreciates coded languages err abbrevs. In my emails, especially to my boss, I am always used to signing… “FYI” which means, “for your information”. If we plan out for a dinner, I’d say… “BYOB” for “bring your own bottle” because the resto is not selling alcohol. So, I’m kind of used to these coded languages, after all, the gay community must have perfected the art of coded languages, we have our own.

Anyways, dala marahil subalit datapwat nang mga nagbabatuhan, nagpapanaan at mga nag-susungkaan sa …

Plagiarism, as defined in the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary, is the “use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work”- Source

I love to travel, meet people and feel their culture. My next big travel plan wish, would be a week in France or Italy, in a village where people don’t speak English. I wonder how I’d fare. But this time around, the only travel I did was go home to Philadelphia.
My niece got married to a Greek at an Orthodox Church in Philadelphia last Sunday. The Greek groom was the latest addition to our already very international family. I have never been to a Greek wedding before, much less a …

I believe in the idea of nurturing future Filipino bloggers. “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa nang bayan” or “Ang kabataan ang mga leche nang bayan“, basta, one of these is tama hahaha! Given all the name calling in Pinoy Blogosphere, I believe that it is not fair to these newcomers and newbies who are new into blogging by being bullied and intimidated by these self-proclaimed “influential bloggers” who have no credentials themselves and no known accomplishments behind all their MBA’s and their best school diplomas other than ramming themselves into us! …

I have always believed that the Philippines, especially the Corazon Aquino Government, succumbed to European pressures to abolish the death penalty. I’m not talking as La Kapitana, but as a concerned Pinoy Citizen calling for the restoration of capital punishment for heinous crimes. And the more it becomes outrageous when you read headlines about the murder of Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez.
Who is Ruby Rose?
Ruby Rose, sister of actress and former beauty queen, Rochelle Barrameda, disappeared on March 14, 2007, after a bitter custody dispute with her estranged husband, Manuel Jimenez …

In my Barrio Siete, June is fiesta month. June 24 to be egsak. Magbitbit nang damit if you make pasok sa Barrio. Mababasa ka. On this day, the wedding schedule is always packed, 25 hours full. I should know, dati akong sakristan. June, as we all know, is considered traditionally, the wedding month. But, do you also noticed that it seemed that there are also too many weddings in January? Now, given that this is the first month of the year, right after the Christmas holidays, I guess we all …

Do we hear Pinoy politicians going back to their war room and strategizing on the 2010 Elections given what happened in Iran? And why should we Barrio Siete people be interested with what’s going on in Iran? It’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the winner in the recently concluded Presidential Elections in Iran. Mir Hossein Moussavi, a reformist was his big rival and supporters in the Tehran streets are crying foul. If you should all recall, the former US President George Bush called Iran as part of the “Axis of Evil” and …

Bikolano ako. One uragon. And I should be happy with this news, for it will help my fellow people in Bicol improve their lives. Not only the people, but relatives and cousins in Sipocot, Camarines Sur where my mother’s sister lived. The news? Work starts on P1.9-B Arroyo ‘gift’ to son.
But I felt that something’s not right. I was looking more for a project that’s “for the people” and not a feeling of guilt as if we owe one politician something. Then again, what’s new? In the Philippines, even if …

“I have nothing, I have no money … I saved this and did not touch the money in Marcos’ pension of P4,500 as a retired colonel of the Philippine Award. He also got P40,000 for having the highest award … the medal of valor. And I have not touched it, because it is my proof that he was a soldier and a national hero and the most decorated Filipino in World War II. And yet, until now, he hasn’t been buried. This is an injustice. Please, have mercy,”
