Competency (definitions from Google):
The quality of being adequately or well qualified physically and intellectually
The ability to perform some task; Meeting specified qualifications to perform; implicit knowledge of a language’s structure
This kind of partisanship and divisiveness among Filipino voters have been used as a leverage by the candidates …

I always have this thought: I dont believe that our country is literally poor, we are just one heck of a mismanaged country. I notice that this particular ‘poverty mindset’ is more dominant during elections. The political advertisements that we have on TV, print and internet are always emphasizing in the poor plight of our countrymen and hailing their candidates as the so-called messiahs that could literally uplift the poor from their ramshackles.
What most people forget to think is this: if your country runs in an economy based …

I must admit: I am totally pissed off by Osang’s comment on teachers during the noontime show on ABS CBN: Showtime. During the show, she asked one contestant from Calamba, Laguna about Jose Rizal’s middle name: Protacio. Why he has the middle name Protacio while his mother, Dona Teodora is an Alonso? The contestant was not able to answer Osang’s question and then the controversial actress (that still thinks that she is still damn hot and famous but NOT!!), replied to the contestant that he should cuss (in …

Oh yeah…nerd boys and gals! Drool over this new Iron Man 2 trailer! Watch the youtube clip below:
OMG. Cant wait for Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and yes, Robert Downey Jr in their roles! Kakaloka. Sorry, nerd talaga si Silver sa personal. Hak hak hak.
The details are quite sketchy pa. But based on the trailer, Mickey Rourke will take on the role of Whiplash. In fairness, di ako familiar sa Iron Man villain na ito. Hahahahha.
So come 2010, blockbuster na naman ang summer natin dahil sa mga movies na …

Avatar blasted through its opening day with a whopping 232 million dollars worldwide and yes, peeps, it is still making money in theaters. According to movie critics, Avatar (which is directed by James Cameron) delivers on the hype – movie peeps got what they really buzzed about. As far as I know, Avatar could be the future of science fiction films, made in 3D. Sabi nga ni Aling Wikipedia:
The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing …

It was like Mindanews guys (thanks btw to Madam Ellen Tordesillas for posting this in her blog), did something like a MTV cribs episode, I cant help but scratch my head seeing these pictures of exquisite wealth amidst the suffering of the second poorest province in the country.
So lemme do a mala-hiphop DJ Amfa2juan, touring you in mah crib in Maguindanao (parang MTV cribs lang ito) heheh.

VIEWER DISCRETION: Not for the faint-hearted or for those who have weak stomachs.
I know I should have posted this a long time ago (well, thanks to some busyness there…argh >.<) But with the turn of events in Maguindanao: the lifting of the martial law, the rebellion charges while in fact it should be mass murder (genocide perhaps) to those bastards who ruled that place like facking Sith Lords (they made Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Emperor Palpatine looked tame and lame) and all the non-sense, unfruitful investigation pep talk …

Ending months of speculation, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo formally announced on Monday that she will be running for congresswoman of Pampanga’s second district.
In a recorded interview aired over the government-run dzRB radio station, Arroyo said: “Gaya ng alam ninyo, hiniling rin ako ng mga mamayan ng aking tahanang distrito sa Pampanga na manatili sa buhay publiko (As you all know, the residents of Pampanga’s second district have urged me to remain in public service).”
“After …

I received a sad news this previous week from a colleague of mine: some of our former teachers have been ill lately. Like for example, my former high school science teacher has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She had mastectomy (surgical removal of breasts) already and unfortunately, the cancer has already metastasized to her ovaries and bone. Surprisingly, when I asked my former biology teacher (of whom I crossed paths last Friday), I found out that this particular science teacher of mine, despite of her illness, she still …

Ever since the barbaric actions happened in Maguindanao which resulted to 67 casualties – mostly women, journalists and lawyers – committed brazenly in broad daylight, I have wondered if there is still democracy in this country or perhaps, if the principles of democracy is still alive today.
What happened in that fateful day is beyond words. Not even any bit of cuss words can be said at those pathetic, no-ball barbarian bastards who just went on trigger happy – snuffing the life out of those innocents. There was not …

Way back in my student days, I regularly watch “The Battle of the Brains”. Aside from learning new stuff, my brain muscles also get flexed. Here’s a clip from one of the old episodes of that game show:
Siguro naman, during those days, lahat ng estudyanteng nakakapanood nyan e kumahog sa pagsagot ng mga questions dyan. E pano ba naman, may kahirapan din ang mga tanong dyan noh! Kaya nga Battle of the Brains eh!
Pero nitong mga nakalipas na taon, especially years after the last Battle of the Brains …

I remember my old Barrio days na kung saan nakikinuod ako ng TV or Betamax sa kapitbahay.

Amazingly, kahit napunta sa ilalim ng train ang six-month old baby boy na ito, himalang nakaligtas siya with nothing more than a bump on his head. Kaloka!

Way back in the 1990s, climate change had been discussed but nobody seemed to take it seriously. I remembered in my elementary science textbooks about greenhouse effect and global warming – all of it have been discussed throughout the book. In my highschool and college years, climate change became a rampant topic, more than ever, as people began noticing the signs of the changing earth. Noticing, yes, but not making actions on it especially the governments. When the Kyoto Protocol was enacted, not even the United States dared …

Yes, you read it right. US President Barack Obama was awarded with the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize for this year. In an article from CNN. com:
The first African-American to win the White House, Obama was praised by the Norweigan Nobel Committee for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”
“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” the committee said. “His diplomacy is founded in the concept that …
