Hello fellow patriots!

That’s right! Buy me a beer at the WordCamp Raleigh 2010 in North Carolina because Barrio Siete is a proud sponsor of the WordCamp Raleigh 2010.
I was just sent an invitation to attend the WordCamp in San Francisco, California. I received the invite today, just now well, kanina.
Unfortunately, the said WordCamp is scheduled on May 1. Bummer!!! I could have visited my brother in San Francisco at the same time! And of course, I could have made some charity work in De Castro hahaha!!! I’d like to teach a few …

Medyo busy …

Hello mga friendship!
Kamusta na kayo? How’s your vacation? Hahaha!

Barrio Siete (B7), the Philippines’ fastest rising blog gives way to Dona Victorina for the top spot of Top Blogs Philippines’ Politics Category.
We’ve said our piece and we will remain vigilant in warning everyone in Pinoy blogosphere about spam blogs, bogus blogs and hate blogs.
We are not a political blog.
Nag-kakape-kape lang kami dito and chatting with one another on various topics ranging from how cute our La Kapitana is, to how we can achieve World Peace.
Translation: We’re just cute.
The true political blogs in the Philippines are Manuel L. …

I received this news via Barrio Siete post office about Bermuda immigration minister David Burch, who made an offensive and generalized comments against Filipinas in Bermuda:
The Filipino community is to confront Immigration Minister David Burch after claiming he has made “offensive” remarks about women.
The Association of Filipinos in Bermuda (AFB) is to meet next week to issue a statement countering the Minister’s comments, while Dominicans are also understood to be upset at Senator Burch’s remarks at a press conference.
The Senator this week announced new visa requirements for citizens of the …

Reyna Elena, currently the holder of the longest title ever in Pinoy Blogosphere has yet been awarded with another title by Amiel Aguilar Cabanlig’s Pugita site. They have just awarded me the title: “The World’s Dumbest Blogger!”
And “The World’s Dumbest Blogger!” just beat the crap out of Amiel Aguilar Cabanlig and thrashed his blogs on the sideline officially making Barrio Siete as the # 1 Political Blog in the Philippines!
Here goes!
Oh!

Adam Corolla is a struggling Italian-American radio host. And like so many radio host who wants instant fame, they look for their victim that they could lash out for that popularity. End result of course would be high radio ratings where they could charge higher advertising rates. See the connection?
Adam Carolla’s target was Manny Pacquiao. Yes, our boxing icon Manny Pacquiao who we don’t want to be in politics. He was calling him illiterate and for implying that the Philippines is a nation of whores!

During the term of Richard Gordon as mayor of Olongapo City, there were at least 26 cases of “salvagings” or summary executions that victimized at least 28 people. The killings were believed to have been made to cleanse the city of undesirable elements and maintain its allure as the center for the R & R of US servicemen.
Olongapo officials dismissed such as “isolated incidents involving hardened criminals whose death were mainly due to gang rivalry”, it is a matter of public record that the victims were mostly …

Why do I suspect that Amiel Aguilar Cabanlig is employing astroturfing technique in his blog Dona Victorina? Well, our lesson for today is: HOW DO YOU SPOT ASTROTURFERS?! Or better yet: Is Amiel Aguilar Cabanlig employing astroturfing in his Dona Victorina blog? Let me show you my empirical studies!

How to earn credibility in blogging
First. Give it up. Ang kulet nyo! I truly have no interest in joining your money problems with Dona Victorina people, Amiel Aguilar Cabanlig, Belo Clinic or whoever else or anyone in your line-up of former friends. I don’t know anyone of you nor do I have any connections with you people.

Ladies, gentlemen and in-betweens, have a sit, because this will be the longest State of the Barrio Address in our Barangay Hall.
I will address, respond, rebut and hopefully bring world peace to this nasty blogwar between the DV Group and B7, specifically, Reyna Elena and the founder of Dona Victorina.
Let me start with the easy ones:
Delfin Montano – Reyna Elena has no relationship whatsoever with DM and no matter how hard the founder of Dona Victorina tries to connect DM with RE, it won’t work.

As you all know dear readers, I wrote an e-mail to Jollibee regarding my concern on the missing special barbecue sauce that goes with my ex-favourite Jollibee Chicken Barbecue. Read it here and the Barrio Siete article here.
Guess what. I actually received an e-mail from them.

Dear Friends,
The Philippines in 2008 became the first Asean country to enact a milestone renewable energy law, which mandated both renewable portfolio standards and feed-in tariffs for wind, solar, biomass, small hydro, and ocean power. The RENEWABLES GLOBAL STATUS REPORT cited the Philippines as one of only 46 countries with such law in 2009.
Just last month, February, the Department of Energy (DOE) awarded 112 service contracts for the development of renewable energy sources, with investments expected to reach as much as P66.8 billion. The 112 service contracts are expected to …

Cable T.V., the internet, and iPhones have made Hollywood accessible with just a click of a button. And, unfortunately, these type of entertainment is also readily available to our children and could very well replace the roles of parents. Many are misled by the glamorous and dysfunctional lives of celebrities and “gangsters,” tagged as “real”, that it has become difficult for our youth to recognize their value in society and behave as citizens of the world. And with both mom and dad working in this present-day family, children are left behind and are very vulnerable to negative influences. (Many boys believe that real men should walk and talk like gangsters. And many girls think that “real men” have the right to treat them badly). And, working with the youth with psychiatric and behavioral challenges, it has become apparent to me that children that have received poor, or none, parenting are more susceptible to behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social problems.
Last week, I had the opportunity to be a positive role model at my children’s elementary school through an initiative called WatchDOGS(Dads Of Great Students), a volunteer program that encourages fathers to bring positive male influences and security back in the school environment…
