I know that this is a bit late na for Halloween. But heck! Scary movies and stories are an all-year-around staple sa huntahang bayan, pati na din sa inuman ng mga lasenggo!
My friends via Facebook are going gaga over this mala-Blairwitch type of movie. I have searched via Youtube for its trailers and here’s what I have found:
I asked my friend if this film is going to be shown here in the Philippines. Unfortunately, di pa daw ata palabas. I dunno. May katamaran din akong sumilip sa movie …

Mino Saves Little Miss Nonsense
I’m not a saint. I don’t have a soul. I’m not dead—yet. [Lightning flashes]
Halloween was a pagan tradition that originated from the Celts 2,000 years ago. November 1st was considered the end harvest season and the beginning of the winter chill and darkness, the time of the year that was most associated with death and destruction. This was the time when the dead and living meet. BOO!
As a Filipino, I have a certain sense of discomfort celebrating this pagan tradition, even in a more commercialized fashion. One way to …

Now?
It’s Polar shift.
Alignment of the sun to the milky way.
These are all happening in three (3) years…
And no one sent me a memo last year.
That the the world that we know it today is about to end.
END?!
Or are all these emails we’re getting from strangers part of a well-planned movie promotion of 2012? Whatever it is, I’m sure, I’m not the …

The geese are flying south. The leaves are turning yellow, orange, and red. The cold wind is picking up. The rain is starting to pour. And my arthritis is acting up. Fall is here. So off we go to the pumpkin patches to pick just the right pumpkin for our family. Pumpkin hunting is one of our favorite family traditions. The farms offer all kinds of family activities, entertainment, educational opportunities, and fresh FOOD at fair prices! So unless you don’t have any means of transportation, I’m not sure why …

I hate baseball!
But after getting free tickets for the Seattle Mariners game from work, I didn’t hesistate to take the opportunity to bring my whole family to our first professional sports event. Free tickets, free hotdogs, free soda, fun with family and friends, and watching my half-brother, Ichiro…almost perfect! Only thing missing was a bowl of spare ribs teriyaki.

I’m a party pooper! I had a talent for ruining surprises. I would go as far as looking all over the house, checking the bank account, checking my wife’s purse for receipts, coming home early unannouced, and bribing my children to tell me any information that they have about a gift or a plan that my wife have made. Blowin’ up the surprise is more fun than the surprise itself. But through the years, she has learned to hide things better. And I also realized that it’s not fun for her everytime I screw it up. So, as a loving and dedicated husband, one must just go with the flow.

War is not like a hollywood blockbuster. A soldier is not an action hero. Outside the statistics and the news-worthy portrayals, there are deeply personal issues that most of us don’t see.

This was the funnest and most adventure-filled summer my family and I have ever had. It was also the most documented and most expensive. We visited and enjoyed some of the best places that both Iowa and Western Washington have to offer. From Adventureland, to the Amanas. From Mt.Rainier, to Lake Quinault. From Ichiro, to Lea Salonga. And to finish it off, we went to our annual religous obligation—the Puyallup Fair.
The state fair is a 20-day summer affair in Washington and one of the biggest in the U.S. It features the biggest, the fattest, the …

By 2025, as many as one fifth of all animal species may be lost
Growing up in the ghettos of Manila, the biggest “wildlife” I got to see was the rat that ate all my hamsters and scared the badest cats in the neighborhood . In general, anything that moved and didn’t carry diseases was considered food. And if it is ”wild”, it’s a delicacy.
Coming to the U.S., I anticipated seeing neon lights on skycrapers in the vastness of paved metropolis. And then I ended up in Iowa…
My wife introduced me to …

He wanted to make the world aware of the plight of Filipinos overseas. “Few Americans appreciate the sacrifice that Filipinos make when they leave their homeland.

There are lots of creative Pinoys or should I say artists waiting for their moment to be known to the public. But it’s a sad realization that our country doesn’t give that much of attention to Arts. Instead, they pay more attention on how to steal money from kaban of the masa and how to use it to their personal endeavors. But I will not pour my heart out on this issue, instead lets talk about on how to help artists get some exposure through the web.
Cebu streets have been …

David Foster: The definition of a star
2:29
Listen to David Foster talking about Charice. According to him, when Charice was sitting with them, and there were 10 of them in the table at that time, she beams. And when she left, she was “gone’. Point emphasized on the word “gone”.
Charice talent is unquestionable. Her voice is powerful and she appears to appeal to adults and given that its easy to eschew older and not younger audience, they seem to be headed in the direction of making Charice music appeal to …

Considering that for some of us, our blogs are our life and represent something we’ve worked hard for, did you ever think about having a Last Will and Testament kung saan ihahabilin mo ang iyong blog para patuloy pa rin na published ito kahit ikaw ay wala na? It might sound morbid I know, pero isa minsan ito sa mga iniisip ko. My blog is a legacy to …

ONLY YOU
Finally the shit on local television ended. Honestly I watched the last two episodes of this shit and like it a bit. Now if you will use Math, that’s 2 episode out of what? how many episodes? Not bad huh? Anyway, the reason why I called this series a shit was because of the never ending use of inappropriate campaigns during the series. I will not dwell upon the lack of talent of Sam Milby. That’s another point and another reason why Only You Philippines failed miserably …

Senator Lito Lapid is part of GMA’s entourage to Washington DC.
Baket???
Ewan! Kunsabagay DC yon, kahit ako gusto kong makarating doon. He he he. Sino ba ang ayaw makita ang White House at ang Lincoln Memorial?! Cruise the Potomac River, pumasyal sa Virginia…and maybe sa North Carolina?! Basta mas exciting pumunta sa US East Coast, right?!

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince already premiered in London. While The rest of the world was tuned in to saying goodbye to Michael Jackson, the 5th movie installment in the JK Rowling series, premiered in a rainy place called London.
If you have read all the Harry Potter books (like I did!), then you probably know already how book 6 goes. It started with a scene that included small kids: Lily Potter, Petunia (Lily’s sister and Harry’ weird Aunt), and the third child is Severus Snape.

I know…I might sound like a broken record if I still blog about Michael Jackson here — considering the 2 previous posts about him – but let me blog about him anyway.
He he he.
Separate videos of the various numbers/acts in the said memorial service are the only ones I found.

I am still sad that Michael Jackson passed away last week. He is an irreplaceable music icon.
In 1983, my family moved back to Bicol after 10 years of residing in Caloocan City. So I consequently had to transfer school in the barrio where I was born. I spent grades 5 and 6 in the said barrio.
In the 1982 Thriller album of Michael Jackson, Billy Jean is one of the singles that made it to the charts.
I love the black Michael Jackson and not the white-post-cosmetic surgeries Michael Jackson. In the …

A different kind of Independence Day
Today, Friday in America, is a big day. This is the day that the switch to digital TV, or DTV is going to happen. It will start at 12:01 a.m. Friday. Around that time, 974 full-power stations that cover major markets such as New York and Los Angeles will start shutting down analog signals. The transition is expected to be done by midnight.
Just one very minor problem gramma!!

Naitsismis na ni Pareng Kotsengkuba sa Barrio Siete ang pagka-panalo ni Ginoong Brillante Mendoza as Best Director of this year’s Cannes Film Festival held in France.
