Hello mga ka-barrio, Happy Valentine’s Day sa inyo!
At syempre, dahil sa araw ng mga puso ngayon – time out muna tayo sa politics mga ka-barrio! Let’s take a breather and have some fun with the Pinoy cheesiest quotes I found online.
1. Minamalat na naman ang puso ko. Paano kasi, laging sinisigaw ang pangalan mo..
3. Can I take your picture? I want to show Santa kasi exactly what I want for Christmas!
4. Exam ka …

Writer’s block is a condition, associated with writing as a profession, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work. The condition varies widely in intensity. It can be trivial, a temporary difficulty in dealing with the task in hand. At the other extreme, some “blocked” writers have been unable to work for years on end, and some have even abandoned their careers.. iyan ay ayon kay Mr Wiki (kung may iba ka pang alam na meaning, paskil mo sa comment section ha)
But what if a blogger loses …

Think about this. Dati, there’s about 10% of the Philippine population outside of the country nag-ta-trabaho. Ngayon? Mas marami pa! Wala kasing lecheng trabaho saten noh? As usual, the ritual goes na we all send money back home, konting ipon and hope na makabili tayo nang palasyo. But, let’s admit it. Mahirap. We not only have to deal with the high cost of living kung saan mang lupalop tayo naka-base to …

Simbang Gabi 2009
One of my favorite festivities growing up in the Philippines is the Simbang Gabi (Misa de Gallo or Advent Pre-Dawn Mass), a nine-day day novena leading up to the Christmas Eve Mass representing Mary’s wait for the birth of Jesus. I remember being awaken by musical bands, carolers, church bells, fireworks, and bright Christmas lights and parols. After mass, we would stop at food stalls in the churchyard for Christmas treats such as hot ginger tea and a variety of rice and coconut cakes like the puto bungbong …

The following phone conversation took place on December 25, 2004, Christmas Day.
Nanay Luisa (Novaliches, Philippines): Hello anak?
Tracy (Phuket, Thailand): Hello Nay, Merry Christmas po!
Nanay Luisa: Tracy anak, Merry Christmas din sa’yo. Kamusta ka naman diyan?
Tracy: Okay lang ako Nay. Medyo busy nga dito sa resort eh dahil marami kaming bisita ngayon. Andaming foreigners Nay.

Hahahha.

Are you in touch with the issues in Copenhagen? YOU SHOULD. It’s called Ondoy and Peping. Who knows, maybe Mayon Volcano? Or what about losing Cebu to climate change because it will sink and be gone forever?
Do something!

Copenhagen does a Comelec
Exclusion of a hardliner

The most stunning omission was Muller, who has more than 20 years of negotiating experience and has become famous in climate change circles for her hard-line stance towards rich countries, hence her nickname, mentioned with grudging respect by Western …

History repeats itself and here we are at crossroads again. Philippines has been a country of colonizers from Spaniards to Americans to Japanese to Americans to Japanese and now… KOREANS!
Have we been prostituting again and a new breed of aliens maintaining a stronghold in our country again? economically and demographically…
Haven’t we thought about our sovereignty  and patriotism? Self-reliance??
I just came back from Philippines with some …

O, Monique! Basahin!
Here’s an Advice for Vacationing OFW’s this Christmas:

As the Christmas season is when overseas Filipino workers usually come home for a vacation, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration has issued an advisory on the issuance of POEA travel exit clearances.
In the advisory, vacationing Filipinos are thus advised:

If you have just arrived, apply for your overseas employment certificate early either at the POEA main office or at the nearest POEA regional offices and extension units, or avail of the OEC …

I saw this picture on GMA News TV. A mother, clutching her two kids. Obviously, they’re homeless. As you can see from the caption, the cop was telling the mother to avail of DSWD’s Back to the province assistance for street dwellers.
Back to the province.
Assistance.
For street dwellers.
Those were the keywords I picked up on the picture. Not good. It’s really nothing short of throwing them back to the province – and then – what?!
In Brazil, i’ve read articles where they shoot them.
At least, in the Philippines, they give them “assistance” …

Every fourth Thursday of November, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving Day tocommemorate the first big feast between the European settlers, called the Pilgrims, and the Native American tribe that helped and taught them how to farm, hunt, and survive the winter.   This is a special time for gatherings and giving thanks for all our blessings, our families, and friends.   Some also chose this day to volunteer or help feed the unfortunate.
A traditional dinner consists of potatoes, corn, corn bread, casseroles, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and the giant TURKEY!  The bird is so huge that it is …
