Maybe some of you have been wondering what my current beef with the NBI is all about. Here’s the story behind it.

When we apply for an NBI clearance and we get cleared – we normally get our passports, or get employed overseas and it indicates we have no “hits” on the system. We are asked to fill out a form – complete names from your maiden name to the name of your parents as well. Then you line up, for hours, for each and every step it …

Woke up this morning. Surfed FB, then I stumbled on this OFW site: Tagpuan nang mga OFW. They were using my OFW Logo. “Ah ok!” so I said to myself.

So, I “liked” the page and browsed. But I found not a single credit to reyna elena dot com, not even a link. Now, I don’t remember getting any email from anyone who wants to use the logo. You see, I spent more than P10,000 for this logo. It’s well documented on …

Back in the 90’s, I went to Colombia to visit a friend. I remember when I told my boss that I’ll be in Bogotá for 2 weeks, he went nuts! My officemates were laughing at me. I was subjected to a lot of ridicule. “Huh! I’ll prove you all wrong!” I told them. My boss even offered me a free round-trip ticket to go to France instead. You see, back then, Bogotá was a war-zone. It’s spelled: Pablo Escobar. You can’t miss it on American TV. Bombs were exploding all …

Barrio Siete congratulates Jovit Baldovino! He is the first grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent. Watch out. He will be hitting the international stage pretty soon! I’m sure the world is taking notice. If Journey has Arnel Pineda, I hope he gets invited by Bon Jovi hahaha!

In the Philippines, where 81% of the 90-million population are Catholic, the Catholic Church is the “single, most powerful veto group,” Anderson said.
He decried how the Catholic Church has successfully impeded the distribution of contraceptives and curtailed the education of people about reproductive health, thereby also slowing down the fight against HIV and AIDS.
Mary Racelis, professor from the University …

We all know that there is a war going on between Cabral and the Church.
Cabral suggested kasi that sex education should start in kindergarten. Nagwala ang mga FB friendships ko hehehe! But the ever-present peacekeeper Inday Espina-Varona explained naman na, sex education is not teaching sex per se. Oo naman, noh? Then again, kahit na walang detalye, Cabral indicated na what’s appropriate to their age ang ituturo sabi Cabral.

Imagine my new role: Reyna Elena, La Kapita de’l Barrio Siete, defender of Jejemon rights! Bwahaha!!! But don’t laugh now. In fact, I’ve been labeled as a Jejemon already.
Jejemons are called the new jologs, labeled as people of inferior mentality. If they are of inferior intellect, then how in the world were they able to invent and be creative with a brand new language of their own? And if you’re a jejemon hater, show your prowess of superior intellect by translating their language. Care for a challenge?

I’m tired of elections. Kaya it’s time for world peace.
They moved at nag-iba na nang bahay. And none of them told me where.
Boylet number 1 is for Villar.

I was already at the voting center here in Quezon province at around 6:30 am together with my whole family. We spent at least 30 minutes looking for our names. The names or the voters’ lists are plastered on a single door of a particular room which really brought inconvenience to the voters. According to some city hall insider, the order of the Mayor was clear: Voters list should be on an open field and plastered on a long table or a wide blackboards lined up on a court or …

(Article in the week’s issue of Graphic Magazine)

You don’t meet generals in prison everyday. Danilo Lim in a handful of Filipino West Point graduates is a rare bird turning 55 in prison this June.
It’s curious: the first Filipino graduate of that US Military Academy back in 1914 was also surnamed Lim – Vicente from Calamba, Laguna, apparently no relation to Danny from Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. After Vicente Lim got back to the Philippines, Gen. Douglas MacArthur made him his right hand in the nascent Philippine Army at …

Good afternoon to you all, good afternoon to my Barangay Captain who is present today.
Greetings and congratulations to all the parents who for years have balanced their limited budget, reduced the food on their tables and looked away from a new t-shirt they badly needed – just so they could be here today – to see their child graduate from high school.
I would also like to greet the honorable teachers who tirelessly walked under the simmering sun and …

An sabi sa bandillo:
“A double whammy is hitting customers of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco)—brownouts and higher power rates. Customers of Meralco, the country’s biggest power distributor, will have to bear an additional burden of P1.20 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) starting this month, due largely to the huge spike in the cost of power it buys from suppliers. This means that …

Do you know that even the Pope believes that condom use for people in Africa would make the fight against HIV and AIDS worse?
You see, the policy of the Roman Catholic church is the encouragement of sexual abstinence and fidelity. This way, you prevent the disease from spreading. Ganun lang. And yes, the Filipinos have pretty much practiced abstinence every… let’s see… I don’t know, 25 seconds?!
Let’s listen to Winnie Monsod.

Since then, I would meet a number of fellow Uragons on Facebook and I have to thank these guys for all the work in promoting our beautiful city in Bicol, Legazpi City. Tamang-tama, kasag-sagan nang internet bullying, hate and vilification campaign to Reyna Elena sa Pinoy Blogosphere. So, mon ami et moi decided to drive somewhere.
We went to Atlantic City but decided to take the local roads. Wala lang. What would typically take 2.0 hours from Delaware to Atlantic City, it took us about 3 or more hours. Why? We discovered other alternative driving route destination, read: …

Life in the barrio B.C., that’s boring community, is truly boring. Only the sons, daughters and friendsters of the politicos move up to taste barbecue. Us, los indios have no futuro. Some of my relatives died of kamote overdose. Us the survivors, have to work twice as hard and haw-haw de carabao to even smell pugak pugak de tambutso in the city. Now, that’s a big deal when you go back to the Barrio. In fact, it’s a must that you carry one lata of biskwet. Ave Maria, I never …

At syempre, dahil sa araw ng mga puso ngayon – time out muna tayo sa politics mga ka-barrio! Let’s take a breather and have some fun with the Pinoy cheesiest quotes I found online.
1. Minamalat na naman ang puso ko. Paano kasi, laging sinisigaw ang pangalan mo..
3. Can I take your picture? I want to show Santa kasi exactly what I want for Christmas!
4. Exam ka …

Writer’s block is a condition, associated with writing as a profession, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work. The condition varies widely in intensity. It can be trivial, a temporary difficulty in dealing with the task in hand. At the other extreme, some “blocked” writers have been unable to work for years on end, and some have even abandoned their careers.. iyan ay ayon kay Mr Wiki (kung may iba ka pang alam na meaning, paskil mo sa comment section ha)
But what if a blogger loses …
