An official from the Department of Tourism (DOT) said Wednesday that the supposedly “plagiarized” article on Filipino food posted on the government agency’s website has long been taken down.
June Garduque, officer-in-charge of the DOT Information Technology division, said the write-up, supposedly copied word for word from food blog MarketManila.com, was only posted online as part of test runs conducted by the department while developing the website in 2008 in coordination with a private firm.
Just a test page
Garduque said that the post was just a “test” page meant to help the …

How to capture the personality of Corazon C. Aquino in, of all mediums, chocolate?
By stripping the concoction of all frivolity and allowing the simplicity of flavors to shine through in a modest bar of pure, sweet delight.
This is how Raul Matias, the chocolatier who created the limited-edition commemorative chocolate bar to mark the late President’s second death anniversary tomorrow, describes his latest gourmet chocolate creation.
That it took a lot of doing goes without saying.
After all, Matias, the man behind …

As you all know dear readers, I wrote an e-mail to Jollibee regarding my concern on the missing special barbecue sauce that goes with my ex-favourite Jollibee Chicken Barbecue. Read it here and the Barrio Siete article here.
Guess what. I actually received an e-mail from them.
Ang saya-saya ‘di ba?
NOT!

Here’s the reply that I received from them:

I’ve eaten twice in this resto before, and I don’t know what happened along the way. It’s rare that i RANT, but when I do, my Kamote Award for Worst Service and Sanitation by a restaurant chain goes to ….. Tempura Japanese Grill.
How else do you explain being an office worker on a one-hour lunch break, and 35 minutes later, your order still hasn’t arrived? We ate at their United Nations Avenue branch, and I had to beg for a glass of water just to quench my thirst while waiting. …

This is an open letter to my all-time favourite food chain. Because I believe that eating should always be a worthwhile experience. Oo, big deal sa akin ito.
Dear Jollibee,
First of all, thank you for making my pamangkins happy.
They love you so much especially Zoe who insists on celebrating her birthday with you every year.
I wrote because of a very important decision you made that made me unhappy.
I love chicken. I love your Chickenjoy. Super. But ever since Jollibee Chicken Barbecue came out in the market, it has been my favourite …

How much do you know ba about Ozamis City?
From the air:

It’s interesting dahil most of us could talk about Paris, Rome, Montreal, Budapest, London or Dubai, yet I am so guilty, ni hindi ko nga alam kung saan tong Ozamis City. Aminin! Kahit kayo wa kayo knowing! Hahaha!
Im fak, sa kaka-google ko, I found this Flickr site and now ko lang na-gets ang ibig sabihin nang RORO hahaha! What do I know. Akala ko kung ano ang lecheng RORO. Eto pala sya!

This whole summer in my own backyard…the langka (jackfruit) trees are full of fruits. Another thing I love living in barrio siete is that I can eat the local fruits without buying them. For example, we don’t buy saba bananas ever.
So…going back to the hinog na langka…you can do too many stuf with it. You can put it in ginataan or insert them in turon. Either way, it is delicious. Eating hinog na langka plainly is good too. That’s what I’ve been doing lately.
My mother is harvesting 1 whole fruit …
