Seems as though every livestock we eat can get us sick. First the bird flu. Then madcow. And now, swine flu! What’s next? Rover Fever?

Saturday: It was Halloween. I was already feeling a little lousy and there was a tingling sensation in my throat. But I promised to have a few drinks with my housemates so I dressed up in some really warm clothes and went. The quality of my voice was dwindling rapidly and my throat felt as if a blade is permanently slicing through it. Halfway through the pub crawl I knew I had to take a vow of silence.
Sunday: The gargle-with-warm-water-and-rock-salt trick wasn’t doing the trick. I could only …

Aphrodisiac. A substance which is used in the belief that it will increase sexual desire.
Ewan. In my mind, pag frigid ka – frigid ka. Indi yun aphrodisiac. Shocking ka lang talaga.

When I was still a university student back then, I used to take  Abnormal Psychology as one of my subjects. Although, my course is not technically specializing in the clinical set-up, it still made me curious about the makings of the human mind and behavior. One of the fascinating topics that we have discussed in our AP is Multiple Personality Disorder.
What is Multiple Personality Disorder?
Dissociative Identity Disorder is the other term for Multiple Personality Disorder.

Ang mababasa nyo ay less of a medical opinion but more of the simplified facts na …

Colon cancer is what killed my former boss, the best boss I have ever ran across on earth. He was Italian, 37 years old at that time, a JFK look-alike – ok, maybe a bit too much, but he was very good-looking, with 2 kids and one very beautiful wife. He and I became very close friends and so when he succumbed to colon cancer, I was devastated. After his death, my life and my career tumbled and changed drastically. It would take years before I would be back on …

Next to lung and breast cancer, colon cancer is third among the leading causes of death in the country today.
Mrs. Aquino succumbed to colon cancer exactly one year and four months after she was diagnosed with it. She underwent treatment to halt the progression of cancer that would possibly affect other vital organs. However, the treatment was stopped because the therapy was just too strong for her already frail body.
Based on the 2005 Philippine Cancer Facts and Estimates, cancer of the colon and rectum combined rank 3rd overall, 3rd among …

It a king of albularyo too pero sila …
