Chicago: The Ledge

7 July 2009 9 Comments

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Chicago. This is their famous “Bean”. Subukan nyong pakuluin to, ewan ko lang kung matunaw. If ever, kelangan ko nang singsing. Dose. Oo. Dose sila. Hehehe!

But there’s one newest attraction na pinagkakaguluhan ngayon sa Chicago. Eto.

It’s called “The Ledge”. If you stand here you can look down through a glass floor 1,353 feet (412 meters) above Wacker Drive in Chicago. This is part of the Skydeck Chicago located on the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower. It opened to the public on July 2.

Do you see it? It’s like a balcony. Suspended in the air and juts out four feet from the building’s 103rd floor. The walls, the floor and the ceiling are transparent and it leaves visitors an impression that they’re floating over the city. Now, would I be interested to go there? Na-ah! Wala akong guts and bolts to do this thing. I remember the World Trade Center in New York. When my nephews from Sydney visited us here several years ago, we drove to New York. They went up the observation deck, andun lang ako sa baba. Nag-hihintay nang mga lalaking madadapa.

Violent reactions are welcome. Kiver kahit anong sabihin mo. But try to stay on topic and avoid personal attacks. Only privileged Barrio people & readers are allowed to swear.
