Different Agendas Trying to Sing in Unison

9 June 2009 52 Comments

Let me present a different take on this matter peeps.

Reports have been flying about a rally in Makati City this coming Wednesday, June 10th. This rally is a so-called expression of sentiment against the dumbass con-ass that was done in a sneaky way (yes, while the whole Philippines was in deep slumber) by our dear congressmen and women.

Its okay to express everyone’s sentiments about this matter. Heck, everyone should be outraged by this dumbassery by the House of Representatives. But going to the rally with a different agenda is an entirely different thing. Well, as you know, there will be a lot of groups going there – either from the left, the right, the up and down. And let’s face the reality, the rally tomorrow will be a concoction of different agendas trying to sing in unison.

Parang in tagalog, kanya-kanyang papelan na yan. ;)

In English, pass your test papers, finished or not finished. :D

But just like a choir composed of different caliber of voices, ranging from soprano to the lowest voice, I hope that different agendas will be able to sing in unison. I just hope that they can get a good conductor. ;)

Will the rally get the big numbers tomorrow? Reyna Elena asked me. I told him her, I dunno. For me, everything seems nebulous at the moment. I am actually engaged in wishful thinking, that the Philippines will soon find true unity. You know, isasantabi ang mga agendas chorva para lang makamit ang goal para sa ikabubuti ng lahat. True unity seemed to be elusive nowadays with different political groups and figures arising – with different agendas.

Sus ginuu, wag lang sana maging sintunado in the end. Parang sintunado boyses, just like what Reynz was crying one time. :P

I am still anti-conass peeps. I still hate this stinking move by the House of Representatives. But I hope that the upcoming mass movements are indeed airing a unified sentiment against con-ass. Wag sanang gawing springboard ng ilang foolitikos just to get media attention and magmukhang messiah cum foolitiko chorva sa mata ng mga tao.

Just base it from that. From that moment on, I believed that true unity is indeed elusive and the Edsa thing is already a MYTH.

Maybe you will ask me what’s the best recourse aside from a rally? Hmmm..

In my own bubwit thinking, I think one of the best ways to sap revenge from those tongressmen is NOT TO VOTE FOR THEM ANYMORE. Really and seriously. Heck, the reason why they are there is because somebody voted for them. I will not elaborate further on how they extracted their votes but this coming elections, I want to emphasize that we should do background research on these people, just like the same way HR folks are doing to screen applicants who are applying as an additional employee on their payrolls. Get your sweet revenge in the next elections. :D

P.S.

I know that this is a different take. Bago tayo magbarilan (lol) este maghuntahan, I know Barrio Siete respects diversity. We dont like cannibalization sa mga posts at comment threads di ba? Haha. :D

one more question: will there be singing by some dysfunctional team? like Cory: Erap? hahaha!

  • lee says:

Everytime I hear these renditions, I feel both elated and sad at the same time

    • Silver says:

      Rosa,

Naku. Lagi kong naririnig ito noong Edsa 1.

      Hay.

      • Rosa says:

Silver, I just wanted to share the version of Bayan ko that was just recently sang in California. The sopranos and the tenor really did a good job and I get the chills especially at the rousing Finale. The other one was an entry of Pinaymommy who put together some very inspiring collection of the beautiful sceneries in the Phil. and the children doing the native dances. I guess you are tired of that song apparently.

      • Silver says:

        No Rosa.

I dont mean anything offensive on what I have said previously. ;)

I liked that song too. It makes me remember our heritage. I kinda sigh because the song is calling for unity for our country and to sacrifice something that we have for our dear motherland and yet, the unity became elusive with the different agendas and everything.

      • Rosa says:

Gotyah Silver. When we learn to elect good leaders who have the welfare of Filipinos at heart will the Philippines move forward. Sometimes, being in power changes people. I am sad too about all that is happening in our mother country. Here you can see an example of how good government benefits everybody. Where poverty is not that prevalent and that any one reach as high as he aims. Kailan kaya ito mangyayari sa atin?

      • Silver says:

        Kailan mangyayari sa atin?

Unless someone as good as Barack Obama will be elected to the public office. :D

      • Rosa says:

        Nkas, obamagurlz ka rin pala

  • dfish says:

Politicians are only astute enough to ride on and exploit the exigencies of the moment to get people’s votes.

    • Silver says:

      DFish,

  • The Cat says:

Kahit na ang mga karamihang sumasali sa rally, palagay ko’y di rin alam ang kung ano talaga ang dapat mangyari sa Pinas 5 years from now or 10 years from now.

    I agree.

  • The Cat says:

imagine sa “people power” meron ding corruption.

    • Silver says:

Kaya nga yung sinasabing “Edsa people power” is already a MYTH.

Nung nakita ko ang Edsa Dos (highschool lang ako noon), nakita ko na there is something wrong about that movement.

I know this is already crying over spilled milk kasi ang sinisisi ko kung baket ganito ang nangyari e yung mga character behind the Edsa Dos and the people na nagpauto sa movement na yun.

They are thinking of Erap as the ultimate evil chorva but they provided a replacement na higit pa sa pag-ka-evil.

When doing a movement like that, you cant afford to do mistakes kasi iisipin mo ang repercussions nyan after 5-10 years.

    • reynz says:

what i mean dun sa tanong ko was this one na sinabi ni Cat

      that is,

if his rally won’re be successful, dahil we were fooled nang mga foolitoko esp the EDSA ones.

  • The Cat says:

    • BURAOT says:

i think Cory apologizing to Erap was just right. in my personal opinion, umpisa pa lang, mali na yung edsa dos. it was a conspiracy by those powers that be and some generals to get rid of a populist president (however corrupt he may be).

i found it dangerous not only to the duly elected ones but to the entire republic itself. kasi tuwing me di tayo magugustuhan, instead of going through the legal process, io-overthrow na lang natin. bakit pa tayo nag e election di ba?

democracy is a long process. if we wanted a shortcut, i am in favor of it as well, but we have to make sure it would work.

  • The Cat says:

    Mga Bloggers:

sa mga bloggers lang wala ng unity. Kaniya-kaniya may pakulo.

  • The Cat says:

    Forum:

    TSEH NINYO.

  • The Cat says:

Speaker Prospero Nograles declared that the House of Representatives cannot yet convene into a constituent assembly despite the approval of HR 1109.

“I am not going to convene anything. We need the period for consultations with House and Senate leaders and other sectors to get a clear picture of what to do next,” the Speaker said in a statement.

    .

hindi mo pala alam bakit ipinasa ninyo? TSEH.

  • The Cat says:

I like your term ‘bandwagon’. Madaming ganyan sa rally bukas.

“Wag sanang gawing springboard ng ilang foolitikos just to get media attention and magmukhang messiah cum foolitiko chorva sa mata ng mga tao.” — Silver, mismo!

      • Silver says:

Sama ko bente dyan, Yami. :D

        Hahaha…

Ako, ayaw ko ng BANDWAGON. I still prefer our dear old Kalesa sa barrio. Hehehe.

  • reynz says:

I guess, all I really wanted to say was:

“Don’t make tulog! Let’s make baka!”

    or

“Don’t make chorva! Let’s make baka!”

    Ooops, anti-cow ba ako? hahaha!

  • silver says:

    Hahahha…

    Anti-cow! Haha…

Baka habulin ka ng baka nyan! Hahah…

  • Reesie says:

  • darbs says:

basahin lang po mula sa taas. all i have to do is LOL! at WOW!

Ganoon ang nangyari sa lupang hinirang?
    Duyan daw ng magigiting?

the most hilarious part ung ginawang karir ung concept ng people power. magkano ba, 5,000 per rally, free food and drinks? hahaha!

Yan ba ang Bayan kong Pilipinas.

    Sad to know.

  • darbs says:

    maki-youtube nga.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGIRQtSQftM]

Oobra kaya. kung hindi sensya na po. pero i love the song too. sana mag-work.

  • darbs says:

    you can say that.

    what else?

    rubber bullet

    tunay na punglo

    or

    DEATH!

    fOR WHAT?

    Rally against Con-Ass!

    WHERE’S THE MONEY?

    Devil thoughts:
