Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009: What’s in a blog nga ba?!
I believe in the idea of nurturing future Filipino bloggers. “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa nang bayan” or “Ang kabataan ang mga leche nang bayan“, basta, one of these is tama hahaha! Given all the name calling in Pinoy Blogosphere, I believe that it is not fair to these newcomers and newbies who are new into blogging by being bullied and intimidated by these self-proclaimed “influential bloggers” who have no credentials themselves and no known accomplishments behind all their MBA’s and their best school diplomas other than ramming themselves into us!
But all is not good in the emerging blogs. Yong ibang sumali eh hindi patas ang labanan. Take the case of our own Barrio Siete. We work our ass off to crank out entries here. Read: Right or wrong nakabalandra mga opinion namen, ini-isip namen to, ini-edit namen, sarili namen, para kung tirahin man kami, we-are we-are kami here, together one another, defend Barrio Siete banner. Getz nyo? Wala kaming full-blown news team around the world who are doing the work for us. We work on our rankings and ratings by how we do our raw performance. Good, best, better, betterer and bitterest. Ultimo credentials namen, nakapasta for all to see as a response sa challenge nung kaVilang Varrio. Patas kaming lumaban. TSEH!
If these types of websites eh nakahilira with Barrio Siete, then the Emerging Influential Blog might as well include BBC, MSNBC, CNN, MLA BULLETIN, INQUIRER, PHILSTAR at iba pa. At kung ganiyan din ang labanan, we might as well capture all the news with a little intro para lang masabing hindi kinopya in toto ang news.
But what really is a blog? Barrio Siete a blog. I believe it is. If you just paste news, other people’s opinions into your website – ora mismo you become a blog? What are we trying to nurture here? Copying Plagiarism? Or being original? Whose talents are we trying to show off and what kind and/or type?
I believe these types of kung ano man klaseng porno site sila should disassociate themselves from Janet’s Emerging Influential Blogs or better still get in line with us by being fair and be original. DUH! We are paying our dues legitimately, responsibly and fair.
Otherwise, educate me! Dahil, I am getting annoyed! Hmpt!

anywho, i’ve been an avid reader of barrio siete since day 1, love the site! hehe… dami kong nalalaman na iba’t ibang interpretation ng current events dito sa pinas and around the world, huh.. keep up the good work guys!

The word “influential” is so scary that if you dissect its true form, it will reveal that it comes with more responsibility.
For those na naiinggit sa sakses ng Barrio Siete, they deserve to be mainggit. A lot of us saw how Barrio Siete started and today, it’s soaring high.
I remember including Barrio Siete in my list. Why? My self description of influential is to be a shaker and a mover. And I believe that Barrio Siete is a mover and shaker. Why? The comments section can tell.
Others may claim that blogging is so easy. You just release that thought in your brain, write it candidly, add some image and viola. If it doesn’t have heart, it’s just a journal. But that’s just my 2 centavos.

I nominated Barrio Siete to become one of the emerging influential blogs because it has influenced me as a reader. The writers here educate me on current issues, on their plight here and abroad and on their take on anything and everything. I do not take their opinions as gospel truth and i know that those are just one side of the argument, but I like reading their views. If that is not influential, then I wonder what it is.

at the end of the day, our main reason is to give our opinion on facts, news, lahat lahat na. to share our experiences and what we’ve been through. to put a smile and a sense of satisfaction to the readers. bonus na lang yung mapabilang sa cream of the crop. we deserve it noh!

Netizen can freely choose what they like and no credentials in whatever shape or forms can persuade others to fall in line. it used to be that we get our informations thru various legitimate-media sources. but now, buladasphere filled the void. having said that, if i myself is really interested in joining this janitorial scribes, i’d nominate any blogsite that carries the latest pinoy sex-scandal, only because it is the closest to my perverse goal in the truest sense of networking; none prejudice aside.
