Garapata: The official animal of Philippine politics

4 December 2009 13 Comments

2010 garapataHala! Our 2010 Election has truly become some We Are Family – mapapahiya ang Carnival sa Rio. And if we have Balimbing as the National Political Fruit, welcome Garapata: The Official animal of Philippine Politics. Fiesta sya and you don’t have to travel to Maguindanao para makakita nang warlord. Andami kamo nila!

Yeap! So, wer wer we? Let’s start here.

Gloria Arroyo have two (2) sons in Congress already, merong pang Iggy at Lourdes. With her running for public office again, this time in Congress, hindi lang sya ang We are Family sa election na to. Haller! Friend nya kamo sina Ampuputa.

Jojo Binay is running for Vice-President, his son Makati Councilor Jun-Jun Binay hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father by filing his certificate of candidacy for mayor in Makati.

In Davao City, Sara Duterte is running for mayor for a post that will be vacated by her father, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Joc Joc Bolante of the fertilizer scam fame is vying for a gubernatorial post in Capiz.

How about Jovito Palparan who is seeking a  Senatorial position? Ano bang meron sa Senado by the way?

According sa balita:

Palparan, who is running as an independent, said he is not closing his doors in joining major political parties. “I would love to be adopted by some major parties,” he said.

Ay oo! Merong party list ang Hospicio de San Jose at Golden Acres. Baka kako nagaampon sila for senatorial position. LOL. What nga again??

Another is Jamby Madrigal who will be running as an independent candidate for the 2010 presidential elections. Kiver nyo, but with the powers of Juday (ja-ja-ja-jamby) e makakuha pa ng votes ang ateng natin. Not to mention, baka lalo dumami ang mga green beads na ikakalat sa rally, bonus pati ang litraks nya. ;)

At hoy! Wag kayong kemerlou! Yes! as in yesterday! Tatakbo siyang congressman. E saan nya natipuhang makipag-marathon papuntang Haus of Refresentatives?

Si Jay Sonza, tatakbong vice president daw while Imelda Papin will try to sing her ageless tunes mula sa hallway ng Senado. O di ba? May talk show na sa Malacanang, may jukebox pa sa Senado. Bow!

Make way people! Here comes the TRANSFORMERS!

What? Ano ulet? TRANSPORMERS? Duh. Asaness. I am talking about Dick Gordon at Bayani Fernando. Syempre, campaign managers nila sina Ondoy, Pepeng, Ramil at Santi. Yeeezz. Teka, saan ba sila anib? Sa AWTO-BOTS OR SA SEP-SEPTICONS? rofl.

By the way, as added bonus, eto pa ang ilan sa kapartido ng mga transpormers:

O di ba? VONGGA! Hahahha.

Now, what about the Marcoses? Well, former Rep. Imee Marcos is challenging the reelection bid of her cousin, Gov. Michael Keon. Now, this is interesting. Will this lead to family feud? And since Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is running for senator, surprise! Ok, well there is no surprise here that Imelda, through a representative, filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) for representative of Ilocos Norte’s second district on Tuesday night. She will face former Vice Gov. Mariano Nalupta Jr. O, davaaa?? How old is Imelda? Magic Otsenta. As in 80. Haller! When you’re 80, ano ang nasa utak mo? Aber?

UPDATE: Isang pahabol na garaparata:

The Court of Appeals, in a dramatic last-minute decision, has ordered Romeo “Jon-Jon” Jalosjos Jr. reinstated as a voter in Ipil town in Zamboanga Sibugay, allowing him to run for a congressional seat in the province’s second district despite his being the incumbent mayor of Tampilisan in the neighboring province of Zamboanga del Norte. Jalosjos Jr. is a son of convicted rapist and former Zamboanga del Norte congressman Romeo Jalosjos. (Source: Ellen Tordesillas)
