GMA News TV story on yellow ribbon fever is wrong!
La Kapitana believes that the GMA News TV story on yellow ribbon fever is wrong if not misleading!
Dismayado La Kapitana sa news that I read on GMA News TV, a link that was sent to me by Chuva Chienes. Kaya, I am so galit and bitter right now that I just finished drinking dalwang botelya nang datu puti at pag hindi inayos ang anunsyong pinalabas sa GMA New TV, I will soon be drinking Marka Pinya Soy Sauce! Leche! Exactly, when can you trust news to be korak?! Baliktad na ba talaga ang mundo such that the battle of blogs and MSM are that bloggers are the ones who kokak with correctness and MSM blabs like juicy prut gum that you can chew and pwe!
GMA News TV said:
The webmaster of “THAT BLOG.com” started an online campaign called “Post a Yellow Ribbon for Cory Aquino,” which urges bloggers and webmasters to do just that. “Every post matters. Every post shows great concern. Every post is a prayer,” read the accompanying message on the ribbon image.
“By Saturday, Internet users were caught up in the action, spreading the “yellow-ribbon fever” all over the Web with various blogs and social networking sites expressing their love for the country’s democracy icon. “ Source
It all started?!!! With the yellow bows on the internet by THAT BLOG.com??! No kidding! And by Saturday it hit the internet?! Whaaat?! ~confused~
SQUEEZE ME?! Momma mia!!!

Hoy!!! Pwede vaaahhh!
July 23 is Thursday when Barrio Siete officially posted the campaign “Touch a blogger: Tie a yellow ribbon for Cory Aquino!” which was discussed amongst Barrio Siete Writers a day earlier! As in this was the date of the 1st email I sent to Barrio Siete Writers: Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 8:59 PM and soon after agreement, I posted the campaign. Yes people! In Barrio Siete, we have teamwork! Tse!
July 25 which the GMA story claimed to have hit the internet, was a Saberdey! And that was the day that blogger mentioned in the news posted his entry (no blame to him, he did nothing wrong) the 25th.
If you google the phrases “yellow ribbon for cory” or “yellow ribbon for cory aquino” guess kung ano ang sasambulat sa muka nyo and you tell me whose blog it points to!
Ano to?
Hmpt!
Anyway, @7:49PM New Orleans Time, after discussion with Barrio Siete Writers, we decided to send a letter to Mark Meruenas of GMA News TV
P.S.

I was blogging nang biglang nag-live ang leche! Kaya if you’ve read it taz biglang mawawala at susulpot, dahil engkantada ang nagsulat.

i’m guessing they really didn’t know (didn’t bother to research at least) or they (still) cannot accept the fact that blogs can be a step ahead of the TV media sometimes
probably roy, but that’s unforgivable sa mga dyaryo who’s foremost responsibility is to research. eh kahit tayong mga bloggers do our best, sila pa kaya.
maybe that reporter and the guy from that website are friends. leche nahimasmasan ang pagkalasing ko kanina when i received the email! i have three words for that reporter: research research research!
could very well be mel! reminiscent yong blog awards sa pilipinas who awards friends and volunteers hahaha leche oo!
I guess the reporter is lazy to do research. Tsk tsk tsk.
o dinaan sa starbucks?
me too kuya bluep. gusto ko siyang kurutin sa singit.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Credit must be given where credit is due.
Ooops. And I thought better ang research and news reporting ng GMA. tsk tsk tsk…
you’d think they do that. i remember jepoy’s entry naman about this guy rodin from the inquirer. they don’t review entries. post lang nang post.
AND… look at all those comments! I made a comment last thursday noh! haller?!
and before that, maraming email sa background dini-discuss namen yong entry ateng.
it was lani. kairita.
If GMA network will try to trace back the date of posting entries of blogsites, malalaman nila kung kanino nagsimula. ang mahirap pa dito, Iba yung tinititigan kaysa sa Tinitignan.
i agree. they won’t say nuttin and let it pass and the bisor will probably tell the writer, be careful neks time. ganun naman typically, right?
Grrr! Hindi ko kasalanan kung mahaba ang hair [...]
i don’t think they will respond bluep. typically, ignore mode ang mga yan when they realize na they made a mistake.
nakaka imbyerna talaga! sna lang me kakilala ako sa abs pra ma korak yan. media vs media lang katapat nyan diba? Reyns bazta kaw ang Reyna, tapos, period. exclamation point! And since nakainom ka na ng suka sundan mo ng sibuyas bawang toyo karne. o diba adobo na sa tyan mo yon? hehehe.
hahahaha! eh bago naman maging adobo bitter muna! hahaha!
as for the media outfit na naglabas without verifying the real source of the info sana naman iclarify nila ito, maya sakyan ng ibang grupong may vested interest sa issue, sila rin. Good and bad publicity is still publicity!
nothing, not even a response sa email that we sent. i don’t think they will respond. di nila siempre i-a-admit na mali ang news nila.
http://www.bloggityblogs.com/2009/07/when-research-goes-wrong.html
many thanks mahalia!
HOOYYYYY SILA!!!
ILABAS ANG KAWA AT PRIPRITUHIN KO NG BUHAY ANG WRITER NA YANNNNN!!!!
JOHN!!! LEE!!! ASAN NA KAYO?!?! DALI ANG KAWA!! ILABAS NA AT MAGFRIED CHICKEN NA TAYYYOOOO!!!
[...] As of now, an email was sent to GMA and hopefully, they will issue an erratum regarding that article. Here are more rants and pitchforks coming from Barrio Siete. [...]
Hay naku – ewan ko ba? At least naman, mag-acknowledge sana sila and issue a correction.
Hoping pa rin ako na sumagot siya and to correct his entry.
Kung hindi – - balat sa tinalupan! Hahaha!
Hey Kapitana and the rest of the ka-barrio… being a faithful lurker of this barrio… I stumbled upon this article from no less than ABS-CBN NEWS.
http://abs-cbnnews.com/features/07/30/09/tweets-and-twibbons-cory
And it mentioned:
[...] right mga kabarrio! Now [...]

[...] I’m doing my share to spread Kapitana Reynz and the rest of the Barrio Siete writers‘ worthy initiative – THE ORIGINAL YELLOW RIBBON PROJECT ON THE NET, and not the confusing report made by GMA NEWS TV. [...]
