Iran’s EDSA Moments

23 June 2009 184 Comments

Tulad ni Reynz , I’m impressed and overwhelmed by the sight of tehran’s streets teeming with protesting citizens, in the tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands, and talaga naman, nakaka-wonder if this is Iran’s EDSA moment, sabay merong touch of inggit, kasi, WOW, we havent been able to raise such a crowd since EDSA 1986 (i don’t know that EDSA 2001, a poor sad crass imitation, drew as huge a sea of humanity).

But as the days go by, sa kakabasa at kakarinig ng tungkol sa sitwasyon sa Iran, it’s looking more like a prospective Tienanmen than an EDSA.  Sana hindi.  But unlike EDSA,  there is no split in the military, hardline authoritarianism rules, and soldiers seem prepared to shoot and kill if when ordered.  Already there’s been some bloodshed but thank God not too much, not like Tienanmen, not when the world is watching, thanks to the internet and Tehran’s brave bloggers and tweeters.

For the latest news, check out Huffington Post where Nico Pitney is live-blogging the uprising.  Ang daming nangyayari. The street protests continue, the Ayatollah will again address the nation on friday, and opposition leader Mousavi threatens national strikes.

5:03 AM ET — Khamenei to deliver another address on Friday. That news comes via a very reliable Iranian on Twitter, who cites Iran’s state television. The same Twitter user also wrote earlier today about apparent plans for a broad strike being organized by reformists:

Soon Mousavi will announce full national strikes, probably starting with Petrochemical – prepare for this… Expect food shortage – transport stoppage – money shortage in bank… Gov will respond with electric power cuts – prepare and have gas cylinders at home or gasoline for light/cooking… People of Iran – THIS IS THE DAWN – This is the new begining – have hope and prepare.

Biglang, uy, national strikes, just like Cory’s civil disobedience campaign that paved the way for EDSA.  I wonder, will it get to that, or will the Ayatollah blink and bend some to prevent the crisis from worsening.  whichever way it goes, nakaka-tense na nakaka-thrill, watching history in the making.  Again, naunahan lang ako ni Reynz.

… I cannot contain my apprehensive excitement, I have been glued to the monitor on my computer scanning every available news coming from Iran. Sometimes it makes me wonder if what’s going on in Iran is a prelude to what’s going to happen come 2010 Presidential Elections in the Philippines.

What’s going on in Iran is certainly worth watching and learning from, so we know what our options are in 2010, in case there’s a failure of elections.  Maghanda tayo.  At humanda sila!

Bilang Pinoy, nakakarelate tayo, pero mahirap mag-jump into conclusion. Wait and watch na lang.

    here’s the latest:
“Clerical leaders are also said to be considering forcing the resignation of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad following over a week of unrest since he was elected in what senior opposition leaders claim was a fraudulent election”

    http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/20090622/iran-cleric-rafsanjani-khamenei-ahmadinejad.htm

    • angela says:

hey roni ;) hmm, parang i can’t see ahmadinejad resigning. at most he might settle for new elections, and maybe this time the opposition will be allowed to make bantay their votes like we did back in the snap elections 86.

      • lee says:

        hmmm, interesting.

      • darbs says:

Hello Mam Angela!

  • reynz says:

    Hi Stuart,

First, I’m really excited to see you here in Barrio Siete. I’m sure, we’d be learning a lot from you and of course, it’s a privilege for us to have you here.

Naniniwala ako na indeed this was supposed to be their EDSA moments, kundi lang sa Ayatollah Khameini and sya tong killjoy sa mga Iranians.

Iran is an Islamic regime and we have to remember na creation eto ni Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, remember him?

I have no clue kung bakit sipsip masyado to ki Ahmadinejad, eh “divine assessment” chorva daw yong election, meaning all Iranians have to respect the result.

Sa divine assessment or popular support.

WAKEET? Dahil Islamic Republic ang Iran at ang me final say eh ang Ayatollah.

    Madugong EDSA to.

    • angela says:

hey reynz ;) happy to be part of barrio siete, finally. ang tagal ko bumuwelo, ‘no? but this iran drama that you started blogging on, good for you, is truly worth following. at nakakaloka talaga itong si khameini, para siyang diyos, kanang (kaliwang?) kamay ni allah. and because walang separation of church and state sa iran, the supreme ruler’s word is law. ironic that in edsa 86 when cardinal sin called the people out to the streets to shield the military reformists from marcos’ military might, eh parang no separation din of church and state ang nangyari, though very briefly, but omg what a successful revolution it made — at least in terms of ousting marcos. the problem in iran is that khameini is on the side of ahmadinejad pa rin… so talaga, nakakaintriga, anong relasyon nila, para bang relasyon ni enrile at honasan, like father-son? hehe, just guessing. i’m sure it’s more political than anything. it seems that ahmadinejad is truly popular among the poor because of his pro-poor policies, and the opposition and the protesters, are all for american-style privatization ek ek. mabigat, masalimuot, and yes, madugo.

      • roni says:

        lovers kaya? madami nyan dito.

      • reynz says:

        @angela,

        INDEED!

because walang separation of church and state sa iran, the supreme ruler’s word is law. ironic that in edsa 86 when cardinal sin called the people out to the streets to shield the military reformists from marcos’ military might, eh parang no separation din of church and state ang nangyari,

As i watched the events unfold in Iran, yan nga ang ini-isip ko – as in – ano ang pinagkaiba nang Ayatollah ki Cardinal Sin, well, there is a big difference.

  • mel beckham says:

Excited at the same time scary ang events sa Iran.

I’m sure mas gugulo pa ito in the coming days.

Oo nga pala, so happy and overwhelming to see you here A. Stuart-Santiago. A writer of your caliber makes Barrio Siete more credible and exciting. Welcome and Mabuhay to you!

  • lee says:

WOW si mam stuart nandito sa barrio? i read some of her posts dati kaya lang nawili nako magtambay sa palasyo dina ko makasilip sa ibang site lalo pa ngayon permanent tambay na ng barrio hahaha.
Shes one of the intellectuals (hindi peke ha, tunay to hahaha)

  • darbs says:

    The Supreme Ayatollah has spoken.
    Will they listen?
    This is interesting.

    • reynz says:

      hey darbs,

obviously, the people were no longer listening to the Ayatollah and he is supposed to be the top ek ek leader.

      • darbs says:

You are right reynz. pero habang ang mga pulis at militar at ang kanilang mga tongreso ay nakikinig sa Ayatollah

Soon makinig na rin sa shoot to kill order doon sa demonstrators then… so help them…

Either they have to let go Ahmadinejad and install the new.

        Tapos.

        End of the story.

      • dfish says:

Reynz, dagdag ko lang sa “divine voice” – i read it’s part of their Constitution, having Khomeini as the Supreme Leader and the ambassador of the Divine of the Islamic Republic of Iraq. So whatever he decides has a Divine imprint, and Iranians had a mandate on this through their Constitution. The problem is – sobrang halata naman yata ang dayaan na hindi na kapani-paniwala na may divine echo pa ang desisyon ni Manoy.

      • reynz says:

i did not read their constitution but i believe you – dahil nga their Islamic Government is a marriage of the state and their religion. pero higher level and religion nila sa governing body.

kaya gaya nang sinabi mo, pag sinabi nang Supreme Ayatollah na green is actually black, pwes black sya dahil divine daw.

i am learning a lot about Iran and their government sa events na to. eto ako, nakapako pa rin sa mga news na to hahaha

  • chuva says:

Hello Angela (Angela ba or Stewart – confused a bit.. :D ) and welcome! I know exactly what you’re feeling. Ganyan din ang feeling ko during the People Power at Edsa. Kasi, I was very active sa mga rallies before I came here. I was angered by the assasination of Benigno Aquino.

People Power and I wish I had been a part of it. But sure enough, watching it on TV was so thrilling as the news changes every minute of the day.

    • angela says:

hey chuva ;) thanks, and angela it is. stuart is my maiden name pero i’m todo pinay — ang lolo ng lolo ng lolo ng lolo ko was a scot schoolteacher who came with the british forces in the 1700s ba yon, fell in love with a cavitenya and never left — yun nga lang, matangos ilong ko, hehe.

  • darbs says:

I was angered by the assasination of Benigno Aquino.

When EDSA happened, I felt so alienated because deep in my heart it was just the same.

    The same system…

    • lee says:

ay eywan basta ako my heart belongs to lowlo macoy pa rin bwahahaha mabuhay ang mga kumakain ng pakbet at diningdeng

      • darbs says:

      • darbs says:

@lee, it is our secret ingredients. please don’t tell anybody. kumbaga, sa mga cook kasi sa atin ako ung sakristan nila. taga-igib ng tubig, taga kuha ng kahoy, in other words errand boy. So I know the secret and I know that I have to keep that secret.

I terribly missed the taste of the REAL ILOKANO PINAPAITAN.

I could cook pinapaitan here but not as good as the Ilokano Barrio Siete cooking. THAT IS WHAT I MISSED! the real PINAPAITAN!

    • lee says:

    • angela says:

hahaha oks lang, dFish ;) naalala ko nga si macoy, at ang mga kuwento ni imee na he preferred ilocano cuisine to steaks and other sosyal stuff. na he didn’t mind eating left-overs of pakbet dinengdeng pinapaitan, nagagalit pa nga pag hindi itinatabi para sa kanyang next meal…

@ darbs: oo nga buti pinaalala mo na may mga nagboykot ng snap election. tama rin naman kayo in the sense na in the long run wala ring nabago sa sistema post-edsa.

  • Silver says:

      • Silver says:

        Ay oo nga parekoy.

Pinapakain tayo ng alikabok nina Bert at Renata Pacifica Falayfay.

  • benign0 says:

It’s really not surprising that the first impulse of any tyrannical regime is to suppress expressions of dissent. But even before that suppression there already has been an underlying discouragement of the seeking of knowledge.

Even looking back to the chapters of Genesis in our own Holy Bible, Adam and Eve were strongly discouraged to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. And when they did — and discovered their nakedness as a result of that — they were shown to have lost their innocense and therefore evicted from Paradise.

That concept of Knowledge = Evil has been so deeply ingrained into the psyche of humanity that to this day we perceive knowledge as something that would necessarily lead us to sin.

In a theocratic society, suppression of free inquiry is on of the key pillars of the power exercised by men like the Ayatollahs and mullahs of Iran. The more ignorant the flock, the greater the power of the “shepherds”.

As I mentioned a while back:

Some of the reasons that people make the kind of decisions they do and view the world in a certain way is because of a lack of information aggravated by people and institutions that discourage exploration.

If we truly admire what Iran is going through today, we should step back and reflect on our own approach to dealing with ideas that run contrary to ours. ;)

    • lee says:

pwedeng paki tagalog? kahit ilokano pede—

    • angela says:

hey benigz, fancy meeting you here ;) paki-tagalog daw. oo nga. or simpler english? medyo beyond me some of your comment, but this i get:

‘The more ignorant the flock, the greater the power of the “shepherds”.’ and this:

‘Some of the reasons that people make the kind of decisions they do and view the world in a certain way is because of a lack of information aggravated by people and institutions that discourage exploration.’

both in the theocracy that is iran, and in the democracy that is the philippines, LACK OF INFORMATION is a fundamental problem. but it’s more excusable in iran than in the philippines where there is separation of church and state and we’re supposed to have freedom of expression AND access to information, which we don’t really.

    • reynz says:

      @benigno,

parang dis-agree ako seyo here in so far as Iran is concerned. however, as a general rule, oo yong mga tyrannical regime eh talagang papastahan bunganga nang masa:

It’s really not surprising that the first impulse of any tyrannical regime is to suppress expressions of dissent. But even before that suppression there already has been an underlying discouragement of the seeking of knowledge.

i’m focusing more on suppression of dissent in Iran dahil tipong wala eh. they were allowed to demonstrate and express their anger kahit na bawal. if the masses are sorta being discourage to seek more knowledge if because of the fact na Islamic ang government nila. A hybrid of religion and the state. THEREFORE, there shall be no more seeking knowledge.

That’s what i am getting from all these happenings.

    • reynz says:

      @benigno,

Some of the reasons that people make the kind of decisions they do and view the world in a certain way is because of a lack of information aggravated by people and institutions that discourage exploration.

tama naman ang sinabi mo – to a certain extent, if the establishment programmed you to think a certain way, you will think a certain way. or that you will think a certain way dahil yong lang ang info avail – but not to the inteligent being and we are seeing na Iranians are like that – one thing though that happened in Iran was that people were not thinking the way the Ayatollah wanted them to think. They have now embraced Twitter technology and learned some more and the more encouraged to ask and be englighted.

If we truly admire what Iran is going through today, we should step back and reflect on our own approach to dealing with ideas that run contrary to ours.

on a personal note: i don’t care kung ang ideas mo run contrary to me or to us, you are still entitled to yours and i don’t care how many times you’ve insulted me and or us in the past, that too i don’t care, to me it’s all about exchanges of ideas and opinions

back to iran note: i have a different appreciation of what is going on in iran. i will let you know on my next entry and pramis, i will mention you.

I’m still waiting for that “thunder and lightning” of your “Holy wrath”, dude. :D

    Sigh.

There is nothing sadder to behold than the sight of someone desperately scrounging for relevance within his own “turf”.

Stidi ka lang dyan, Mr. Argumentation Policeman.

And by the way, I think Angela is smart enough to decide who around here is the true “taratitat“, right Angela? Nice seeing you here too, ma’am. And yes I agree, medyo mahirap ang sobrang pag-iinggles dito. Then again I wouldn’t be my usual irresistible self if I changed my style on account of my readers, right? ;)

    • reynz says:

      BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

First time mo akong napatawa Benigno!

Then again I wouldn’t be my usual irresistible self if I changed my style on account of my readers, right?

you can always write english using phrases and terms na nage-gets nang mga tiga barrio and i could see that it is a challenge even to some college grads!

And of course! you lose your originality and your feeling intellectual benigno if you speek tagalog – but why is it nga that you prefer to use phrases na mahirap intindihin?

is this some form of suppression of dissent on your part para the readers or your underlying discouragement of the seeking of knowledge by blog readers so theyd automatically think that what you’re saying is right? and therefore you are intellectual?

      • benign0 says:

Ewan, Mr. reynz, sometimes complex concepts require complex sentences to articulate.

Pero marunong naman ako managalog e. In fact I once wrote a poem in Tagalgo. Check it out here. ;)

Hey, I’m adding links here with due respect, ok? Just wanted to conserve a bit of Barrio Siete’s bandwidth and perhaps spare the attention of people who prefer to hit the “Ignore” button instead (but then fail miserably). ;)

      • reynz says:

fair enough benigno – am not asking you to change at all – that’s your style.

      • Mahalia says:

First rule in writing school, write to be understood.

      • Silver says:

        I agree with Mahalia.

Heck, I can even consider that one as part of a writer’s creed.

      • reynz says:

        @mahalia,

ang sabi ko parati sa mga staff ko – if you prepare a schedule or a spreadsheet that you are the only one who can understand – then you’re not an effective accountant dahil for the sake of 3rd party readers kami. yon ang aming audience.

in writing ganun den. i’m not a writer. dakdakera lang ako. hahaha pero naniniwala ako na if you start writing way too verbose, tipo bang tinatago mo ang opinion mo sa takot na baka mali ang masabi mo hahaha

then again me mga writers na abstract at it’s like a game or puzzle at hahanapin mo pa kung ano ang sinasabi

i guess to each his own kung saan mo mahanap ang effectivity nang writings mo dahil mahirap naman yong sinulat mo, taz ikaw lang ang papalakpak hihihihi

    • Mahalia says:

Seriously, well nothing really serious about this comment. I just laud the power puff rangers here in BS for letting everyone have their say.

In fact, that’s what makes this blog collective addictive, dahil you have to sift through the trivial, the deep, the angst and the occasional Benigz.

  • benign0 says:

i’m focusing more on suppression of dissent in Iran dahil tipong wala eh. they were allowed to demonstrate and express their anger kahit na bawal. if the masses are sorta being discourage to seek more knowledge if because of the fact na Islamic ang government nila. A hybrid of religion and the state. THEREFORE, there shall be no more seeking knowledge.

That’s what i am getting from all these happenings.

    Mr. reynz

I don’t know exactly what part of what I said you are disagreeing with because it seems from what you say above, we are in agreement on many points.

Perhaps you interpret what I say as the mullahs suppressing knowledge, whereas what you say is slightly different in observing that what comes out of the mouths of these mullahs has always traditionally been revered and as such has the effect of not developing an ethic of exploring alternative knowledge or challenging traditionally-held beliefs amongst the people they rule.

    Fair enough.

Although recall that I did say earlier:

The power of religion comes from a lack of inclination from its believers to question or challenge its dogma.

Kung baga, the modern-day ayatollahs and mullahs of Iran merely capitalise on a centuries old power exerted over people by organised religion.

    • reynz says:

i go back in time that Rohula KHOMEINI ( i hope i got that right leche oo) created this Islamic Government and it was a marraige of the State and Religion. They’re not elected (Ayatollahs) but they have the LAST WORD.

so, we probably are singing the same tune to a different level but i believe that “supression of dissent” is not the 1st order of reasons in a whole lot of reasons going on. i believe kaya they (Ahmadinejad) shut down the phone systems and internet connections was not because of suppresion of dissent per se but rather me ginawa talaga sigurong kalokohan ang establishment to manipulate the results at ang Ayatollah was making pilit to the people of Iran na legitimate ang nangyari

yet… we are still from the outside looking in

  • darbs says:

According to the morning National Public Radio News Edition there are at least 17 Iranians killed.

  • darbs says:

@reynz, you are welcome. parang i-sworn in na ata si ahmadinejad at parang walang mangyaring recount. this is getting interesting.

And the new call in the street is death to the Supreme leader!

    holy cow!

    Madugo ito!

  • Kotsengkuba says:

  • Mahalia says:

    Hi Angela,

magandang comparison, at least we can feel the throbbing hearts of Iranians waiting for freedom dahil mismo sa ating bansa naranasan din natin ito. Even from the comments given, they saw Edsa 1 and 2 face to face. Sadly, grade 6 lang ako ng Edsa 1.

Although bata pa ang ilan sa atin noong people power, we can still remember images of that fated street revolution. Mga larawan sa ating subconcious na entitles us to feel we are part of one of the greatest events of Philippine History.

Sadly, grade 6 lang ako ng Edsa 1.

    • reynz says:

HAHAHA

    • Silver says:

1 year old lang ako nung Edsa 1. hehehe

      • darbs says:

@Silver kung ganoon eh di nasa bay*g pa pala ako ng tatay nung Edsa 1.

      • Silver says:

        Darbs,

Hahahhaha…

      • darbs says:

        @Silver, hahaha!

On the other hand, noong kapanahunan puedi nyang masapok at mapaluhod doon sa altar naming puno ng kung ano anong santo kristos, rebultos at pictures ni pope, pero hindi na uso ngayon ang corporal punishment baka ma social services pa sya at may kasamang posas at bilangguan ang distinasyon – - child abuse ang tawag nyan.

You mean to say ung palitan ni bloop at benign0? Naah! Don’t mind those guys. In real life matalik na magkaibigan un sila. Drama lang un. Look at their exchange as Telenovela or Soap Opera.

If anybody could not handle ung exchange of “whatever” nila just ignore.

Well, punong puno ba ng ingay?

“An empty vessel makes a loud sound”

Never heard that for long time.

I will not deny, I might be guilty too pero ang problema is I found it amusing and enjoyable.

        hahaha!

    • lee says:

@roni, yan ang tinatawag na battle of the brain, ako lang naman ang brainless dito kaya wala akong maisagot lalo pat gagamitan ng inglishers from hell, kainis hahaha

  • benign0 says:

I pity you Benigs. Even in the Cyberspace which is actually just an alternate universe, you cant seem to reconcile and get along with anyone without using your “emperor’s clothes”.

Sorry to burst your bubble and the time you spent writing your long speech Mr. Argumentation Policeman, but it seems the above snippet is the big assumption that you build your whole argument upon.

So I ask you this simple question:

What makes you think I am into this to “get along” with anyone?

    Cite specific examples, plez. :D

That’s the reason why you think I am not “winning” any arguments against you. It’s because you don’t even know the lanscape of what is being discussed to begin with. :D

  • benign0 says:

Furthermore, Mr. “bloop”, I think discussing the internal affairs/discussion of your council here (which presumably is behind closed doors) is a bit tacky.

Sabi mo dati, “secret” ang rules, di ba? ;)

The fact remains, you continue to allow me to hang around regardless of who voted for what.

    Stidi ka lang dyan. :D

  • chuva says:

Bluep and Mahalia!! Hahahaha! Anovey?! Talaga bang Grade 2 kayo nun… OhEmGee!! Parang ang shonda ko na…

@ lee – -nasan na ba yung sungka.. ilabas na! :D

    • lee says:

  • Mahalia says:

@chuva, yes grade two dahil nalungkot ako at half day lang, di ko natitigan ang first and ever crush ko maghapon.

  • benign0 says:

    Mr “bloop”,

What makes you think I am into this to “get along” with anyone?

Obvious ba? hahahahahaha You don’t have to be a Rocket Scientist to know that hahaha. Its not my argumentaion, its a fact and its who you are hahaha.

    Guess again, dude.

I think most people have worked it out by now that I am not on the Net to make friends. I am here to present my ideas whether they sound pretty or not.

In fact all my views are articulated in GetRealPhilippines.com which has a section where I described my proposed solution framework that encompasses most of the issues that contribute to the chronic dysfunction and continued failure-to-launch of Pinoy society. I cited these references to you in your Taratitat article in this and that comment; the latter one addressing directly your quaint but sadly uninformed challenge in that article:

Ikaw, anong klaseng Benigno ka? May solution ka ba? O Taratitat ka lang!

As of this writing, all you respond with are a couple of quaint pictures and a couple of YouTube links to which the only reaction of consequence comes from Mr. reynz here

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! Anong nangyari dito?! Hahahaha!

… and a few similar ones that followed suit.

So if you are under sort of illusion that you and I are in the middle of some kind of “argument”, Mr. Argumentation Policeman, you might want to reflect a bit on your argumentation style (if you can even call said style “argumentation”).

Call me literal but you don’t really have to mention how you are all…

[...] laughing right now behind the curtains haha

… because just about every comment here is peppered by the text string “hahaha” which I find quaintly amusing. All comes across to me as kind of like a nervous laugh, I must say.

The fact is, Mr. Argumentation Policeman, laughing is easy.

Even morons can laugh. And certainly any moron can post pictures of mythological creatures on the Web in the absence of anything of substance to say. It seems they were removed…)

But what separates the men from the boys is the ability to comprehend, articulate, and focus on the underlying point (something that you, Mr. “bloop” actually think you do well) of what is being discussed.

And by the way, as to your observation here:

wala ga [sic] sumeseryoso sayo dito eh. Yun pa lang it should be enough clue for you

Are you sure of that, Mr. Argumentation Policeman? ;)

    Stidi ka lang dyan, dude.

You don’t even know what you are talking about here:

Kaya pala pinagpipilitan mo yung theory ni Galileo as a DOGMA of Faith

Maybe you ought to re-visit the original assertion on the subject I made here:

The Earth-centric theory had no science behind it. The Catholic Church of the time considered it a heresy to think otherwise, and Galileo and Copernicus almost got into some real deep sh1t using the beginnings of the scientific method to explore alternative views to the one held by the Church.

So what part of it do I say that Galileo’s “theory” was a “dogma of faith”, Mr. Argumentation Policeman?

    Careful careful…

  • benign0 says:

    Mr. reynz, just in response to what you wrote here;

on a personal note: i don’t care kung ang ideas mo run contrary to me or to us, you are still entitled to yours and i don’t care how many times you’ve insulted me and or us in the past, that too i don’t care, to me it’s all about exchanges of ideas and opinions

I will respectfully insist that I did NOT insult anyone here in the past (at least not in the way some people arbitrarily call people “engot” ;) without any clear basis). Having said that I will apologise for any insult you or anyone here perceive in what I wrote in the past (or maybe even again in the future).

But then seeing above that it is all water under the bridge to you, I accept what you say above with thanks. :)

back to iran note: i have a different appreciation of what is going on in iran. i will let you know on my next entry and pramis, i will mention you.

Look forward to it, dude. ;)

Just wanted to add further in relation to what you say here:

but not to the inteligent being and we are seeing na Iranians are like that – one thing though that happened in Iran was that people were not thinking the way the Ayatollah wanted them to think.

I think to a large extent, that’s what a lot of religions are struggling with nowadays. It is evident in small things such as good Catholics knowing well enough to use contraceptives (even if they are banned by the Church) to the big ones like the ones we are seeing in Iran today.

As people’s resolve to think more and and follow blindly less, the power of dogma diminishes.
