8 October 2009 31 Comments

What’s the buzz?

On October 2007, Chuva Chienes posted this video of Aga Muchlach, discussing the frustrating governance in the Philippines. Nakita ko uli sya sa Facebook. It’s been going around. It’s interesting though dahil napaka-relevant nung discussion ni Aga during that time – applied to the current, ridiculous, bwisit! leche! argh! eeeeeeeee! ~!@#$%^&* situation. Whew! ~paypay~ Which really tells us one thing – nothing has changed. NADA Senyora! Pun~!@#$%_ta!

Watch and listen to the video:

I love Aga. Do you?

    tatakbo kaya sya?

  • reynz says:

not sure. but when you have a movie star like that who seemed to have connected with what ails our society, parang ung diniskus ni Lalaine sa previous post on Lesson in Logic (http://barriosiete.com/a-lesson-in-logic/) Post hoc ergo propter hoc – meaning, if ever he does run at manalo sya, we hope that he’d be the one who’d be able to contribute and make some changes hindi kagaya nung ibang mga movie stars dyan. pero who knows, feel ko rin ang frustrations nya.

  • dencios says:

    LOL!

  • Anna says:

I saw that video – this actor seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Incidentally, in addition to what this actor said, people should also reflect on a good line that David Cameron, future UK PM, said:

    “We should confront irresponsibility!”

    • reynz says:

      http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/cameron-we-must-confront-irresponsibility-1799595.html

it goes back to some of these sick politicians who thinks they have what it takes to be a public servant only to siphon off the funds to build palatial homes for their kids

      ~tagay pare!~

it goes back to how irresponsible corporate america was, with all mba’s from best business schools who created all these derivatives that crumbled in front of our eyes which is now the single biggest source of misery to a lot of people in the world

      ~tungga vodka~

it goes back to how dishonest politicians are who were voted by the very people who expect them to make their lives better yet start stealing those what’s meant for the population and diverting them to their own pockets

      !hik!

it goes back to how how some of us have given up the fight that if we fight together that we can defeat these demons up there so we could have a better life

      ~tungga lambanog~

it goes back to friends and associates of politicians who formed a shield to all these corrupt politicians and masquerading as fighters for the good of the community

      ~tagay tequila~

it goes back to some quarters and organizations who love to see that poverty stay because it pushes their agendas

      ~pengeng pulutan~

it goes back to powerful countries who manipulates small countries like the philippines because we have what they don’t have and they can muzzle us out through coercion, intimidation and harassment

      ~kablag~

      Zzzzzz

      • darbs says:

        • darbs says:

it goes back to some quarters and organizations who love to see that poverty stay because it pushes their agendas

Making sure, that everyone has affordable…
          clothing?
          shelter?
          health insurance?
          Food?
          Education?
          Transporation?
Books to read in the Public Libraries?

          What agenda?

  • darbs says:

  • darbs says:

    nagising ulit…

it goes back to powerful countries who manipulates small countries like the philippines because we have what they don’t have and they can muzzle us out through coercion, intimidation and harassment

Sabi pa ni Clinton nung tinanong kung bakit nagawa niya kay Monika ang sagot was, BECAUSE I CAN!

  • darbs says:

I was surprised about this statement of Doc. Aga, but he is absolutely correct he knows what he is talking about.

Most of the Filipino people prefer not to talk but they knew what happening in our country. Except those politicians and oppositions who condemning PGMA.

    Maybe they thinking this;
    The more you talk..more mistakes,
    Less talk..less mistakes,
    No talk..No mistakes….

But for me we have the right to talk, we have the right to speak and to bring out our thoughts, our opinions, and observation. we have the freedom to do it individually.

Like Pope Benedict XVI said in his message.
“The struggle against poverty in the Philippines calls for honesty, integrity and an unwavering fidelity to the principles of justice, especially on the part of those entrusted with positions of governance and public administration,”

    So sad but true.

  • Ely says:

I wish they’ll bring it back.

    100% agree with Aga!

  • Abby says:

  • I am also a fan of Staright Talk on ANC. I remember watching this after lunch before I go to sleep during my call center days.

What’s the motive of bringing this video up? I noticed this on forums and Twitter. Nice way to start if this is propaganda. =)

    • reynz says:

      no motive.

first time kong nakarinig nang movie star na magsalita nang ganito. guapo pa hehehe

richard gomez was such a disaster.

si lito lapid?! si bong revilla?! UGH!

kaya it’s a bit refreshing to hear Aga Muhlach talk like this. Di ko ini-expect.

      • glorien says:

so right. Sobrang disaster si Goma sa politika. wala naman naitulong. kapag may balita about him. always about sa mga kaaway niya.

it’s a good thing na isang sikat na tao ang hindi natakot magsalita about it. sana lang, it’s a wake up call for them. SANA!!!

    • darbs says:

What’s the motive of bringing this video up? I noticed this on forums and Twitter. Nice way to start if this is propaganda. =)

Here is propaganda. There is no corruption in the philippines. gawa gawa lang un ng mga inggetero at inggeteras.

In fact, the politicians in the philippines are living in poverty. They suffered too much because of their honesty and good governance.

The politicians in the philippines are so poor that they have to walk to go to their offices.

      Politicians are living in barung-barung.

Their bank accounts are almost zero. Not to mention our president who could not balance her bank account because there is no money left after paying her bills.

While on the other hands ordinary people – the citizens are living in lavish lives. The could happily afford and enjoyed eating La Cirque palate. Our citiznes are making too much money online that the politicians don’t want to be politicians anymore because being a politician in the philippines means poverty, suffering, selfless and no money except work, work and work like.

In fact, one politician decided to work as a sakada in Hacienda Luisita because the workers are living in MANSIONS!

What you heard in the news lately about the deaths due to disasters are pigments of inggeto/inggitera imaginations, and images are photoshopped.

Everybody in the philippines is making money. We don’t even need the OFW remittance and nobody was working abroad.

There is equality in the philippines. There was no judicial killing, sumary execution and the election is so clean and bright.

      • darbs says:

In addition, isigaw natin sa buong madla na MABUHAY ANG ATING MGA POLITSYAN! Sila ang tunay na makabayan.

Yung hindi maniniwala tawagin natin silang… terorista!

  • kiyapo says:

parang iba definition nya ng governance…he did raise some good points, though.

  • edwin says:

what i’m saying is this, however grand a plan on housing a certified genius must have, the issue of socialized housing in our country is very complex that it involves not just plans and available budgets.

it also entails a long term approach that involves the economy. inflation, political will, mass education, laws on fair housing, equal opportunities, foresight, cultural development, and politics, yes politics.

  • Mel says:
