LP disowns Villar endorsement of ALLEGED Cubao BIZ group

The Liberal Party (LP) has branded as absolute fabrication the endorsement of Nacionalista Party presidential bet Senator Manny Villar by the Mar Roxas for Vice-President Movement (Cubao Business Group of Professional and Businessmen).
LP General Campaign Manager Florencio “Butch” Abad said purported documents showing the group’s endorsement of Villar have been falsified by the LP tandem’s rivals to drive a wedge between LP standard-bearer Senator Benigno S. Aquino III and his running mate, Senator Manuel “Mar” Roxas.
“The businessmen-supporters of Roxas in Cubao are solidly behind the candidacies of Aquino and Roxas. Their rivals are doing all they can to discredit the campaign for good governance of Aquino and Roxas,” Abad said.
A purported letter to Villar signed by a certain Atty. Arturo C. delos Reyes show that the group made a decision to endorse Villar “after careful deliberations and free exchange of views because we are convinced that you [Villar] are the right person to lead this country in these trying times.”
The letter also indicated that the group, which is non-existent, had adopted the new name SMV-MAN 2 MAN Movement as a result of endorsement of Villar. The letter included the group’s resolution adopting Villar as their presidential candidate. However, there are no other signatories on the resolution, a clear sign that it is just an invented one.
“The opponents are becoming so desperate that they even used a non-existent group to drive a wedge between Aquino and Roxas. We strongly condemn this dastardly act,” Abad said.
