I saw today’s boxing match between Marquez and Mayweather Jr. and yes, I admit that Floyd Mayweather Jr. showed exemplary agility and boxing prowess in the ring. My expectation is that Marquez will win the fight but unfortunately, the known counter- puncher did not even made a dent on Mayweather Jr’s face. The fight supposedly have taken place in July was moved to September because of Mayweather’s rib injury. Still surprisingly, he didnt even show that he had the injury and went on to box out Marquez.

For peeps na hindi nakapanood, here is a video clip from the weigh in (patience there folks, wala pang nagpopost sa youtube ng match clips. I’ll update this post as soon as I get match clips):

Pasensya na mga ka-barrio. I have to remove the youtube video of the match (the second video already posted here kanina) dahil unavailable na due to copyright chorvalais ng HBO. :(

Seriously, this fight is a precursor of what we are going to see if Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will have their monumental pound for pound fight. I can imagine the both fighters are putting their best punch forward. I havent seen Pacquiao fought a black boxer before so the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is something new to my eyes. Usually kasi mga Mexicans and Thais (as well as Filipinos) ang nakalaban na ni Pacquiao.

Right now, Pacquiao is busy preparing for his next fight with Miguel Cotto which I think another formidable fighter around. Cotto can serve as a initial fodder for Pacquiao before he steps up the fight with Mayweather Jr.

On the other hand, here are the statistics from the said match:

PUNCHSTATS
FIGHTERS Floyd Mayweather Juan Manuel Marquez
TOTAL PUNCHES
Thrown 493 583
Connected 290 69
% 59%% 12%%
JABS
Thrown 316 288
Connected 185 21
% 59%% 7%%
POWER PUNCHES
Thrown 177 295
Connected 105 48
% 59%% 16%%

Showing little rust but plenty of polish in his comeback after 21 months away from competition, Mayweather put in motion an arsenal of speed, power and elusiveness to win a unanimous 12-round decision against Juan Manuel Marquez.

The outcome was no surprise to many the crowd at the MGM Grand, where Marquez was hoping to treat his fans to a Mexican Independence Day memorable upset.

Marquez (50-5-1, 37 KOs) had never fought at a higher weight than 135 pounds and was a huge underdog after jumping up two weight classes to the welterweight division, hoping to deal Mayweather his first defeat.

Marquez’s odds became even longer after an initially-negotiated catch weight of 144 pounds was re-worked just prior to weigh-in, with Mayweather agreeing to pay him a sizable cash penalty for weighing 146 compared to Marquez, who was officially four pounds lighter.

I may hate Pacquaio for his political ambitions and commercial infestation sa boob tube natin pero undoubtedly I like him as a boxer. He got skills and power. I just really wish that he should stay in the boxing arena na lang and help our country develop more boxing talents para naman sa Olympics e may gold medal na tayo. ;)

Another boxing match to watch out? I also want to see Nanay Dionisia beat the hell out of motormouth Mayweather Sr. who just accused Manny Pacquiao recently of using steroids. I cant wait to see Manny beat his son to a pulp para matahimik ang isang yan. Hmpt. :D

Cant wait to see the boxing match between Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. :D

(watched pacquiao’s life story by Jericho Rosales sa CinemaOne)

  • reynz says:

Ow?! tipong wala sa itsura ni manny ang mag-steroids. o baka just like what you said, sabi lang nila yon dahil unbeatable si manny.

  • reynz says:

WOW! ansaya pala! as in dun mismo naghuhubad?! hahaha! i like! i like! hahaha! sagwa tingnan yong parang may i kiss one another sila hehehe

  • malensky says:

i enjoy watching boxing fights on TV with my father/bros

pustahan galore with sigawan and everything

    • Silver says:

      Hahahahah…

Kaso this time, hugs and kisses ang gagawin nyo imbes na sapakan.

      ROFL! :D

      • dencios says:

Hahahahha.

  • Snow says:

I would love to see a Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight. Sana magkaroon kasi aabangan ko yun promise. :)

  • Paeng says:

Anyway, i hope that our very own Pambansang Kamao will have to fight Floyd Mayweather by next year, this will be the most sensational fight ever.

Of course, I will bet for Manny Pacquio, The best fighter in world, the reigning champion,Pound per pound king, title holder for 6 different division, and the pride of the Filipino People.

The best weapon of Manny is not the so called “steroid”.. but the “Sikrit” from Aling Dionisia.

    Dapat may Pulutan.!!!

    • Silver says:

Ganyan talaga pag medyo may pagka-daddy’s girl. Hahahahhaha.

I cant wait for Manny to smash Mayweather’s face. Hahahahha.

  • Paeng says:
