malen la del barrio

“Ang buhay, pa-ganda ng pa-ganda”

Haller mga bords, kapit bahays at mga kapatid sa pananampalataya dito sa ating baryo, ang barrio siete !!!

Malensky ang itawag nyo sa akin, a true blooded Waray-waray who was born on a banig, was raised in the lowly streets of Brgy. Malanday and cultured in some barrio in the Eastern Visayas region. Sa maniwala kayo’t sa hinde, I was born into extreme poverty (mukha kase akong mayaman in real life haha). Growing up in the barrio has helped me understood the importance of diskarte, responsibility and hard work at a very young age, and for that, I consider myself lucky.

I took an engineering course by mistake kaya naman I graduated without honors in some University beside the Pasig river haha. That’s where I mastered the art of nosebleeding. I was an active youth leader during my younger years who juggled between studying and walking the streets of Mendiola, Morayta all the way to Recto and Divisoria. One of my mentors told me that I have this charm daw that could capture the hearts of millions, charing lang ano ba!

I am a real life opportunist, stenographer haha, self-proclaimed artist, professional haggler slash stalker and all around labandera who never ran out of creative ideas. I am your street-smart babe who frequents the parlor, making friends with the parloristas so I could get my free highlites lol.

My greatest achievement? Getting a perfect UNO in Physics – my one and only shining moment in the University.

I am currently working in the field of Quality Management with slightly above minimum salary (ok, don’t believe in the chismis that I threatened my boss to get a promotion). The years I spent in the BPO industry has helped me utilize my English language skills, and has put a twang in my Tagalog and Binisaya haha.

I adore everything bakya, cheap and jologs, forever obsessed with www, history, geography, humanities, puzzles, solving mysteries and making up my own haka-haka.

Grabe the pressures of being a writer here in barrio siete ha, I feel so insecure with my fellow ka-barrio who’s got credentials attached to their names. Tuloy, I am now seriously thinking of going into a graduate school just for the heck of it, or maybe, further my studies in Ricky Reyes Learning Institute, yah know so I could try a career out of haircutting, with manicure and pedicure.

I am practically married to George (laptop yun) and currently enrolled in a lifelong course called life. My motto in life: “I am fine, thank you!”.

Hugs and kisses to all,

- Malensky A., CPP/NPA, KBP, UMTS, HTTP, IEEE, TCP/IP, 802.11a/b/g/n

Kamusta ka-barrio. Very exciting naman ng layf mo. Marami sa atin dito ang nagdaan sa hirap noong kabataan at namayagpag dahil sa sikap. Lungkot lang me, kasi ako nanatiling mahirap (huhu), being jobless and ol. Baka may magpapalaba sa inyo diyan. Pede ring cook medyo masarap akong magluto basta may katabing kukbuk. :-)

    • lee says:

The verdict: 3 bwahahaha….

I was a proud straight A physics university student… on the contrary my Chemistry was wasay. darn it! why those chemical bonds were just to hard to comprehend while others it was nothing! Brain is unfair.
