Michael Jackson: Billie Jean
I am still sad that Michael Jackson passed away last week. He is an irreplaceable music icon.
In 1983, my family moved back to Bicol after 10 years of residing in Caloocan City. So I consequently had to transfer school in the barrio where I was born. I spent grades 5 and 6 in the said barrio.
In the 1982 Thriller album of Michael Jackson, Billy Jean is one of the singles that made it to the charts.
I love the black Michael Jackson and not the white-post-cosmetic surgeries Michael Jackson. In the above video, his nose is obviously already done following his nose accident.
Here’s some Billie Jean facts from wikipedia:
“Billie Jean” is a dance-pop R&B song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was written by Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer’s sixth studio album, Thriller (1982). Originally disliked by Jones, the track was almost removed from the album after he and Jackson had numerous disagreements (see below: Recording). The song’s lyrics refer to a real-life experience, in which a mentally ill female fan claimed that Jackson fathered one of her twins. The song is well known for its distinctive bass line and Jackson’s vocal hiccups. The song was mixed 91 times by Bruce Swedien before it was finalized.
And who can forget David Cook’s Billie Jean version in the 2008 American Idol?
Though minus the signature MJ dance stepsm I still love David Cook’s version, because he made it his own.
So long Michael Jackson, your music and dance will live on. For Billie Jean lyrics, check out Lyrics Freak.

Glo is 100% bicolana. Born in a small barrio in Sorsogon,Gloria graduated with a degree in Chemistry from UPLB, where she spent 18 years of her life, studying and later working with a 10-year rigorous experience in working in various chemical-analytical laboratories. She skipped lab work for various reasons: napagod na sya, napuno na sya at ayaw na niyang tuluyang mabaog, seriously she just wanted a 'normal' family setting for her son (whatever normal means!) and a chance to re-invent herself career-wise and personal-wise.

waaaa diko makita video
si bluepanjeet is into this american idol at quite honestly, i did not watch this whole episode at all of american idol dahil nawalan na ako nang gana, but listening to this guy david cook, ngayon ko lang nalaman kung bakit maraming nababaliw sa lalaking to – i like his version! huling huli talaga ako sa idol hahaha
nakuuuuu reynz! raine and i are big fans of David Cook. I was just broke this summer here that were not able to watch DC’s concert in Manila last month. wala pati masyado advertisement yon, so nalaman ko eh 2 weeks before na ng concert date.
anyways…may 4 years na yata akong religiously following American Idol. i got raine glued to the tv set every episode in 2008 because of David Cook.
this year?? nakow, even Adam Lambert didn’t get raine’s attention.
hayy…sana maulit pa ang concert ni DC dito sa Manila. wouldn’t miss it for the world!
hahaha!
hey, find DC’s performances at AI in youtube. look for his version of ‘Always Be My Baby@ and the song he picked (forgot the title) during Andrew LLoyd Webber’s week. hayyy…titindig lahat ng buhok mo sa katawan.
so far, sa lahat ng seasons na napanood ko ng AI (after Carrie Underwood), David Cook’s win in 2008 was unquestioned. laki naman ng difference nya ke David Archie na boy trying hard to be man when singing big ballads.
yeah archie’s voice is good too, but it will never be a match to DC’s emoish-rockish hoarse, sexy voice. and to think that before AI, he was just a bartender, bar band singer in a sleepy-unknown place in Missouri.
sheeeetttttt!!!!! ang haba ng comment ko! SORRY. gosh, si David Cook kasi!
hayyy.
at least to me, DC’s AI win is unquestionable. in his current album, i like the tracks ‘come back to me’ and ‘permanent’ (he sang at the opening of this year’s AI finale night. i haven’t bought the CD though. but people can listen to the tracks if they go to his official website: http://www.davidcookofficial.com/

hahahaha! this guy (David Cook) – like MJ – will never disappoint anyone once he performs.
oo nga, napanood ko na. naiba ang version. maganda pala boses nyan husky. parang kaboses nya si bryan adams
