Mother sues Cebu Pacific for child discrimination

Being gay all my life, I’ve experienced all kinds of discrmination and pangungutya from people of all sorts.

A mother together with her son was on their way home from Hong Kong when the crew of the Cebu Pacific flight they were on board asked them to step down from the plane because her son is ‘mentally ill’ daw and according to some aviation law, an aircraft is not allowed to carry two passengers that are mentally unhealthy on the same flight.

At kung meron man, I think that’s ridiculous.

First of all, it’s very discriminatory talaga. Sabi nga ng kasabihan, “Don’t judge the book by its cover”. Just because his actions are ‘not normal’ and quite odd, that doesn’t mean he’s incapable of being with the other passengers. Masyado naman yatang nag-jump into conclusion ang mga crew that that child might get attention or will disrupt the flight or something. Mental conditions varies to some degrees. Some needed to be guided and some just blend with the rest of the crowd. In this case, it’s very clear that the child is okay to travel despite some special needs to be taken cared of.

It’s not the mother’s fault noh mga tanga kayong mga taga Cebu Pacific.

Doon pa lang sa check-in counter, nakita niyo na I’m sure kung sino ang mga pasaherong sasakay and bulag na kayo marahil if you did not notice two ‘special’ passengers. Tapos ngayon na nasa loob na ng eroplano ang mga pasahero at nakaupo na sa kanilang assigned seats ay bigla kayong maglilitanya ng rules and regulations at pabababain niyo ang mga kawawang pasahero because of your fault. Mga leche kayo!
Anyway, the mother and her child refused to unboard the plane and they arrived in Manila despite the incident.

Due to humiliation and outright discrimination, the mother together with her lawyer is filing a case against Cebu Pacific. Cebu Pacific on the other hand issued an apology, but I think it’s too late already.

Akala ko ba ang slogan ng naturang airline ay “It’s time everyone flies”, eh namimili pala kayo ng pasahero ah.

Dapat ang slogan niyo ay ito, “It’s time everyone flies, unless you’re not normal”.

Kalokah kayo Cebu Pacific!

Read this article of the same topic written by Miss Ajay. Very helpful para mas maintindihan lalo ang situation.

“It’s time everyone flies, unless you’re not normal”.

    • Mel says:

actually yung huling biyahe ko diyan mas mura ang PAL, a difference of almost P1000. may bonus pa dahil gwapo ang mga flight attendants. bwahahaha

naku, ayoko na talagang sumakay sa Cebu Pacific. may SeaAir at ZestAir pa naman eh.

I haven’t been a customer of Cebu Pacific pero I am hearing some not so good reviews about them.

    Hmmm, kaasar sila ha?

  • Ajay says:

Pero kung totoo nga ito, it's certainly bad PR for them. They should explain their policy. Pati nga raw senior citizen's card ayaw nila i-honor

  • jena_m says:

haaay naku.. one time I rebooked my flight on the day I was supposed to fly, I had no problem paying the penalty but I asked the ticket officer how much at ang hirit ba naman sakin ay “sorry po maam ganyan talaga may penalty coz ignorance of the law is no excuse” i was like WTF? kulang sila ng seminar I swear.

    • Mel says:

huwhaaaat?! that is so rude. if ako ang sinabihan nun malamang nasampal ko na siya. hahaha violent ba? seriously, i would call his/her boss’ attention.

  • Mel says:

now I remember an incident at Mactan last October during checking in. my friend has ‘danggit’ in his backpack and the guy at the counter said bawal daw sa handcarry bag ang ‘danggit’. my friend asked if kung puede ay ibalot na lang ng mabuti so it wouldn’t smell. the guy then raised his voice and made a litany of rules and regulations infront of us and the people around were looking at us. he can simply say NO to my friend’s request pero hindi niya ginawa yun. siyempre, hindi kami nagpalugi noh. sinagot din namin siya ng mataas ang boses to get more people’s attention dahil alam naman namin mas vulnerable siya sa ganung sitwasyon. haller, we are paying customers noh! Cebu Pacific really need to ‘educate’ their people more. nawa’y matuto sila sa nangyari.

May isang experience ako sa cebu pac, manila to tacloban. May parlor games kasi sila while flying. Bring me something ang laro, nag countdown yung isang sterward, aba eh ang bigkas sa seven ay siben, eight is it, at nag english with matitigas na pronounciation na obvious namang pinaglalaruan nya english pronounciation, Nagalit yung isang isang matandang pasahero, minura yung steward, sinabihan syang “wag mo binabastos ang mga tiga region 8, baka di ka na makabalik ng buhay sa manila. Hehehe. Todo sorry yung ungas. Mayayabang yang mga flight attendants ng cebu pac, minamaliit ang mga tiga leyte province.

    • Mel says:

sometimes some people think that just because they speak straight tagalog compared to the ones from other regions na medyo may accent, akala mo kung sino nang superior at kung sino na kung umasta at mambastos ng taga-probinsiya. buti di siya binugbog on air.

    • reynz says:

hay naku ha! hahaha! wag akong pag-iinitin nang mga panlalait dyan nang mga ganito. matagal kung kinimkim ang galet ko sa mga nanlalait na yan hahaha there is an entry sa palasyo ko about this na pagkahabahaba nang mga awayan haha

  • reynz says:

i’ve only been on a Cebu Pacific flight once, nung pumunta kami nang Bohol and Cebu at hindi gwapo ang steward nila hahaha baklita pa ata un hehehe sorry hahaha! also, what’s with the yellow/orangeish uniform color? parang confused kung pupunta ba nang Cebu Provincial Jail or mag-dedeliver nang pizza nang Yellow Cab? ano ba!

    • Mel says:

Ate Reynz, katerno na nga nila yung eroplano nila. Hahaha. Their clothes are too casual kumpara sa FA ng PAL, mukhang mga taga-bangko. Charing

  • reynz says:

this article is interesting. kung sa amerika to, naku, pinutakte na yong nanay nang mga lawyers. then again, kitang kita na Cebu Pacific is still very young and so many things to learn and train sa mga staff nila. eto na ang tinatawag na growing pains nang Cebu Pacific.
