Nakaboto Ka Na Ba?

Nakaboto ka na ba?

Ako tapos na. Pero hindi siya gaanong smooth as I thought it would be, to think that it’s the very first automated elections, the system is quite disorganised. Well at least in my case.

See this.

Chaos much?

Maaga pa kami ng nanay at manang ko na pumunta sa polling place at around 6:30am para makaiwas sa mahabang pila but unfortunately, tulad ng ibang tao ay maaga din nagpuntahan ang karamihan.

Kung hindi ka pa nakakaboto as of this writing, please remember your PRECINCT NUMBER, the CLUSTER where you belong, the PAGE NUMBER where your name was listed and the SEQUENCE NUMBER of your name.

For example, I was in PRECINCT NUMBER 1678A, CLUSTER 507, PAGE 5 and SEQUENCE NO. 110.

The BEI need this vital information para mas mabilis hanapin ang pangalan mo sa kani-kanilang listahan.

At around 9am, more than 2 hours after we arrived, my sister and I were able to cast our votes. Fortunately my mother was able to vote earlier because SENIOR CITIZENS are being prioritised to vote, so iwas pila na sila. Kung may kilala kayong senior citizen na boboto, just make sure na madadala nila ang kanilang SENIOR CITIZEN ID for identification and ma-prioritse sila nang naaayon without the people in the queue complaining.

We were able to left the polling place after three hours of waiting and voting with our right index finger smudged with indelible ink which I think is not indelible after all. Mine’s already erased with just a few drops of alcohol.

By the way, our precinct has 600 registered voters and after 9am, only 75 voters cast their votes. Nakikita sa PCOS machines kung ilang balota na ang naipasok. The question is: Can the allotted time for voting enough to accomodate the rest of the voters? I don’t know. Mathematically, it’s not good. I guess kelangan talaga mag-extend.

The most important thing to consider is this. PLEASE BE PATIENT na pumila.

Today is the day that will decide our fate for the next six years of our life.

Kung nakahilata ka pa rin diyan, bumangon ka na at lumabas na para bumoto.

GO!

is is the ‘gurl’ behind “The Misadventures of Mel Beckham”. ‘She’ graduated with a double major in Management and Entrepreneurship. ‘She’ grew up in the city but now lives in the bukid near barrio siete juggling work as a farm manager, office secretary, messenger, construction worker, housemaid, make-up artist and babysitter. Despite ‘her’ busy schedule, ‘she’ finds the time to blog in between work, and errands using ‘her’ primitive mobile phone. ‘She’ plans to take ‘her’ MBA soon but ‘her’ multiple jobs prevent ‘her’ from doing so unless going to school will get ‘her’ paid to pay for ‘her’ utangs. Before ‘she’ dies, ‘she’ hopes of owning a pair of Louboutins, and landing on the cover of Vogue, kahit sa Vogue India lang. Whichever comes first.

    Mel,

I am watching the live feed of ABS-CBN and the lines are just worrisome. There were some who were interviewed that are angry and annoyed. Some of them has been on the line since 6am and are still on the line 3 hours later.

As of 9am, the total number of voters were only 8% and it’s not looking good.

You hit the nail. Will there be an extension? I doubt. I hope there will be no trouble in the horizon! But there were so many people already who left and did not vote.

Very nice Mel! Very nice! Just like Blue’s!

Well, everyone is still getting used to the new situation…masyadong mahaba ang pila at dahil mainit, marami ang umaalis not thinking na kahit umalis at bumalik sila, lalong hahaba ang pila. Luckily it remains peaceful and most of the voters are still hangin’…so far before I left, may isang void ang Vote…:(
to make a calculation: there are 835… See More voters in our precinct alone. only 10 voters can vote a the same time. 8 minutes are given for each voter, so far, only 150 has voted. senior citizens are finding it difficult kasi because small ung circles! so kung strikto sila sa 6:00 cutoff, di matatapos. It’s good they assured us that they’ll accomodate all those who fell in line on or before 6:00 :)

    UPDATE:

Comelec extends voting by 1 hour

MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has extended Monday’s voting by one hour, from 6 p. to 7 p.m., the poll body’s chairman Jose Melo said late Monday morning.

Melo said the decision to extend the voting period was because of the slow pace of voting in the first hours after polling places officially opened at 7 a.m.

Commissioner Rene Sarmiento said they extended the voting period “to accommodate the long queues” of people waiting to cast their ballots.

There have been mounting complaints about the slow pace of voting, and many voters have left the precincts.

I have a different election day story reyns. I lost a friend just because I was vigilant in reminding people on my list to no longer post or tag campaign related materials. He sent me a fiery email and ‘unfriended’ me. Magkukwento ako sa blog ko hopefully within today. Tsk tsk tsk… the persecutions of social/civic responsibility and responsoveness nga naman. Whew!
