Ondoy situation map for Metro Manila: Flooded areas

27 September 2009 58 Comments

I spent the whole day today trying to monitor what’s going on in Manila. I could not talk to anyone how’s Ortigas Avenue along Rosario to Sta. Lucia to Cainta Junction. I was of course nervous if the place was also inundated. Instead, I saw this one on GMA News TV which I am re-posting baka naman meron pang iba dyan who is in the same situation with me.

44 Michael Raymond St., Marietta Romeo Village, Pasig City?! pati DE CASTRO?!

WAAAAA!!!~!@#$%^!! SA LIKOD TO NANG CONDO NAMEN!!! HUWAAAAAA!!!!

  • Rob says:

Lubog mga under pass sa Temakats?! OMG!!! Nasaan yung naglalakad na nunal?

  • Silver says:

    Reynz,

By 12 noon, kasagsagan ng bagyo, power was cut off. Na-restore lang by 7pm. Pati ang water namen e na-cut din so we are forced at home to use mineral water na lang.

I was freaking wet for half-a-day dahil nagkataon na humagupet ang storm e nasa palengke kami ng bayan. Then it grew worse and worse. Nung pauwi na kami ni Maderaka ko, nahirapan kami dahil walang tricycle would take us to cross the barangay before our barrio siete, pano kasi, lubog lampas tuhod ang baha, hindi kakayanin ng tricycle especially kung luma at mababa ang tambutso. Instant tirik ang aabutin namen. Leche! Buti

I was anticipating it will become worst by midday. It did. So after landing our palengke goods at home, bumalik ako ng downtown para sunduin ang sister ko from school. I found out that the other parts of the downtown are flooded as well.

    P.S.

Sakit pala ng ulan sa katawan. Lalo na yung may kasamang gusts of wind. Parang latigo kung makatama sa katawan. Ampf.

  • Mahalia says:

Did anyone call Malen to check if she’s ok. Nabaha kaya sya?

  • art says:

Thanks sa videos and the news. I don’t see any rescue personnel or choppers or navy boats sa videos. Can’t the gov’t do something? Kahit basic stuff na lang.

  • Mahalia says:

Please pray for my Tita and her family, ka bubuzz lang ng mommy ko at ito ang sinabi nya:

    • reyna elena says:

from what i have been reading and the video i saw (it’s posted on http://www.reynaelena.com), de castro pasig was up to the 1st story and so are the first floor units of all East Ortigas Mansions, yun ang email saken. unfortunately, i have some more questions but i lost contact at wala na akong matawagan.

  • reyna elena says:

    UPDATE mula sa pinsan:

here’s what i know. i was just speaking with my cousin from rosario, pasig. my condo unit is along ortigas ave extension. now, dahil nga nag-overflow daw ang pasig river, ang marikina river at ang manggahan floodway, mula dun sa rosario hanggang malapit sa bukana nang bundok nang antipolo ang baha. average daw na 6 to 7 feet although ang ibang lugar daw was even higher kaya karamihan daw nang 1st floor binaha, in fact ganun ang nangyari sa east ortigas mansions.

Lalo na sa Meralco Village and to the adjacent El Monteverde Subdivision particularly in Acapulco Street? Gulat na gulat ako kasi it has never been flooded for a few decades ago tapos ngayon dahil kay Ondoy binaha. Hope and pray na sana OK naman sila dun and the whole neighborhood.

    Hello guys,

My entire family is a bit affected with typhoon Ondoy last Saturday. Our house in Taguig had water up to our leg nung Saturday morning. :(

Then, my husband experienced the agony of being submerged sa water dahil nung papasok siya sa office, mabilis na nagkabaha. Good that he was a good swimmer kaya nakaalis siya ng kotse bago lumubog pa ng tuluyan. Yun nga lang, my in-laws are still locating for her sister and family somewhere in San Mateo Rizal kasi hindi pa nagte-text since yesterday afternoon. Gosh, I hope they are okay din. :(

I am currently in an internet cafe as I will be reporting for work today, business as usual naman dito. By the way I will join the Bayanihan kay Ondoy too. Iba-blog ko ito siguro bukas. Sumilip lang ako dito. I need to check naman my staff and colleagues din sa office namin if they are okay.

    God bless you all.

  • All I can say is that Mon Ilagan is a worthless mayor. As Bagyong Ondoy lashed at the whole Cainta, we at Villarica Subd. only stared hopelessly at the flood that posed danger to our lives. With all those helicopters roaming the sky, walang nakapansin sa kalagayan namin? Hell with you Ilagan!

Please help and give relief, attention and aid to those living in Pag-ibig Homes, Cristina Homes, Villa Allegre, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig. The flood there is still up to waist and already stagnant, and is not subsiding. People there might get sick. There’s no electricity yet as well. Where are the Meralco inspectors and local government officials?

i stumbled upon this website googling some news about the worst flooding i ever experienced. ngaun lng ako nagkaruon uli ng contact sa sibilisasyon…

    ok.. ito ang updates: (random)

    - ortigas ave. etension is now passable (traffic flow is bad; tow trucks are everywhere. number of PUJs were halved; devastation is the new landscape)

    - super 8 is closed

    - ever gotesco is the center of relief goods (and probably their drenched items)

    - not to scare but… i heard people died in cainta area, lifehomes, and countryside…a baby was rescued by chopper in armel subdivision.

    - some small businesses opened…net cafes, hardwares are all closed
    (commerce is recovering)

    - the floodin ortigas ext… was neck high (according to the security guard of jollibee de castro branch…he was around 5’10)

    - life homes, east ortigas, one oasis, countryside, ciudad grande, de castro, soldier’s village, floodway, midtown, marietta romeo, armel subd. , brookside,tawi-tawi, a GK site, rosario and etc. was flooded… cainta area was flash flooded.

    - globe signal was dead during the rains…smart was still up

    - water level rose up to 2nd stories in some houses in marietta romeo… 10 feet probably on the streets.

    - people were driving makeshift boats, neighbors making pulleys to pass food and water supplies

    - elctricity is being restored subdivision by subdivision, street by street..

    - no landlines yet.

    - garbage is everywhere. scavengers were getting rich.

    - choppers were hovering last sep 28 (flood was still high), not to bring food but probablyjust to survey and take shots of this 1 big swimming pool…even saw a red, sophisticated-looking chopper, maybe from an internationl news station

    - stench of garbage and the putrid smell of carcasses were sickening
( though there were efforts made by the govmnt, saw a phil. navy truck last sunday and dozersclearing the streets, i never saw our beloved mayor of pasig and their dynasty……that goes to the election)

    - parts of marietta romeo, midtown ,and armel subdivision looks like a map in left 4 dead vid game. in short, people left because of flood water is still there, days after the rains stopped.(until now)

    - think of hurricane katrina w/o the jet planes and rescuers in action during the times the people really need it.

(i live in marietta romeo village, looban ng countryside, pasig city)

    Antonette

Never curse a person, Mon Igan still won in the election. Dont blame other people for what happen in Cainta. Nobody can go out that time bec the flood was really high. If he is a worthless mayor… think about it, why would he still be elected as mayor?
