Partylist: Just who are the marginalized?

26 March 2010 One Comment

So in the partylist system, just who are the marginalized? Who are the under-represented?

Too bad people. Somebody forgot to bring the dictionary.

The very simple thing I understand from this partylist system is a noble objective to provide representation to the under-represented and the marginalized sector.

Ganun lang.

But the more I read the papers about partylist, the more I lose my eyebrows!

Por ejemplo: I was reading this article on the Inquirer: No law defining ‘marginalized’ sector. Huh?! Teka lang! They passed a law on party list and they forgot to define the marginalized and the under-represented?! It’s like doing some empirical studies or having a school project, you have a conclusion on your hypothesis, then you forgot to define your boundaries. Hahaha!

Ano ba?!

Pour moi, the fact that you have Mikey Arroyo, Mike Velarde and others using the party list to gain entry into the House of Representative is very simple enough to conclude that this partylist system is deeply flawed. I checked my own wikipedia and both of them have never been marginalized and are actually way over-represented.

So, the question becomes, why is it that nobody in the Congress and the Senate raised a howl about this before the election so it could have been acted upon? Do they know this flaw? Did they intended to capitalize and/or use this flaw to their advantage?!

Well, nuff of that. Comelec even wants to be a Supreme Court for ruling Ladlad was immoral.

Comelec. Partylist. They go together. Getz nyo ko? In my mind, parehas lang silang flawed.

Well, it’s too late in the game.

45 days left to election.

So here’s my suggestion to bring world peace.

I do not believe that even security guards in the House of Representatives are under-represented. Hahaha! (Sorry friendship if you read this! Opinion lang to Hahaha!) In fact, I have a better alternative to bring world peace in this whole debate about the ethical absence of Mikey’s nomination into the partylist.

Can they just create a union and have Mike Arroyo the union leader of the Security Guard Union of the House of Representatives?!

Will that work?!

parang nag formal debate lang na hindi pala na define ang parameters. Kaya naman pala sabi ng Fomelec hindi daw marginalized ang mga bading at over represented na dw sila. Whew!
