Philippines tallest building, The PAGCOR Tower
Pikit kayo! Magbibihis Si Perla!
Call center agent ako. Minsan, wala akong magawa sa office. One time, nag-surf ako nang nag-surf sa internet kahit pa ang laging sabi ng manager namin was read and review. (abuh! nakakasawa kayang magbasa ng magbasa ng processes noh! Wag kayong maingay baka materminate ako hekhek)
My boyfriend is a graduate of aviation kaya I tend to research things related to aviation because of him. I was curious and wanted to learn things about his field. One article I ran into, focused on plane crashes and bomb attacks including the 9/11 Twin Towers Attack. Then, nag-search ako with related topics discussing the Twin Towers Attack. From there, I read a section about other twin towers. One of which was the Petronas Tower.
I became interested in researching the tallest towers and buildings in the world. Follow this link. Meron kayong makikita. On that page, you’ll find that the tallest Structure in the Philippines is the Pagcor Tower, Manila (665 m (2,182 ft), expected completion-2010/2012.
I wondered kung saang lugar yun, kasi halos naikot ko na rin ang mga lugar sa Metro Manila but I never saw such building. Aside from that, I also noticed that the height of the tower is higher than that of Petronas, which is considered as the highest twin towers. Of course it would soon be eclipsed by Taiwan 101.
Having that curiosity in mind, I clicked the link and it routed me to this page: Pagcor Tower .
………..
It occured to me, I was at home when (I was not really watching) I heard a TV Patrol report on TV, that there will be a huge casino similar to the ones in Las Vegas that will be built along Manila Bay. I was busy doing something else then, (maybe texting), so I didn’t really heard the news thoroughly. I figured, it was nothing or insignificant as the details posted on those URL’s I gave you. But when I started reading the contents of the page, I was very surprised about the details of the plan. It was like HUWAATTT???
Aside from that, parang hindi pa ganon kaintroduced ang mga Filipino sa Internet Marketing kesa sa ibang bansa such as the US, kaya naman yung advertisement ng mga tourist spots satin has lesser chance to be viewed on the internet compared to the others such as those in Hawaii etc.
May beaches to swim, great malls to shop on, mountains to climb with, but heck, do you think masa-satisfy sila sa Enchanted Kingdom, Star City, Manila Ocean Park or Casino natin kung ang pagbabasehan eh Global Quality?
Yes those that I mentioned are one of the Philippines best at hindi ko yun kinakahiya. But let’s be open minded, kung i-cocompare nila, much better ang casino sa China, ang pasyalan sa Thailand, Disney Land at iba pang well-known na pasyalan.
Kung Filipino ka at nakapasyal ka sa mga lugar dito, maaaring satisfied ka, pero kung turista ka, gumastos ka ng daan-daan libo sa airfare palang para pumunta dito tapos sa Casino Philippines ka lang pupunta pag sawa ka ng matulog sa hotel mo habang naghihintay ka sa flight mo to Boracay tomorrow, you would feel na it’s not worth your money. At para makapag EK ka eh pupunta ka pa sa Laguna then back to Manila again where hotels are located? Nah.. It won’t work that way.. Something like magaganda din yun lugar dito but not enough para ma-well recognized globally. Not something to dream of as a tourist na mapuntahan, aside from that, layo-layo pa ang pasyalan dito.
Unlike dun sa plan sa Pagcor na yung mala Las Vegas na Casino, world class hotels, tower like that of the Paris’, a ride like that of the London’s Big Eye, great oceanarium, race track, amusement park, building, lahat, located sa isang place..
It would mean additional jobs as well sa mga pilipino and additional kita ng bansa.. But oh well, maiisip natin na sa corruption lang mapupunta yun. Given na ang corruption kahit sinong mamuno. Pero wag nalang natin pasakitin ulo natin dun, isipin nalang natin in that way, marami mabibigyan ng trabaho at mas tataas ang tingin satin ng mga tao lalo na ng ibang races. Na kahit third world country tayo, nasatin ang pinakamataas na tower, great casino, theme park, theater, arena, race track, oceanarium, mall, beaches etc.. na hindi mo basta-basta makikita sa iisang country at sa iisang location lang. Astig di ba, ? Bongga!
Like me, sa callcenter ako and usually I would hear from other races na you Filipinos are ********—***@#. Hindi naman siguro sasabihing nanggagaya lang tayo di ba, kasi with the descriptions, pinakamataas at world class yun.

I blog at http://www.deltahere.com and at http://www.deltahere.com/BloggingAround. Writing is not my hobby but my interest. The way may friends describe me are “emo” “wirdo” etc.. something related to that, but at the end of their description they would say, pero masayang kasama, talagang mawiwindang ka.. Salungat no? haha!”

That would be another milestone if magagawa ng pinas yan. Pero di ba mas ok kung yung simple tourist spots ang i enhance nila kesa mag plan sila to create another one??
Ang daming magagandang lugar sa pinas lalo na if yung mga turista eh gusto mag nature tripping. kaya lang di sila maciado napapansin eh kulang sa advertisment, hindi nila inaayos, or hindi nila mas pinapaganda.
Beaches, caves, falls, dami dito.
given na nasa fault lines or ring of fire ang pinas, its interesting why they stil compete with the rest in the world who can build the tallest. given na kasi yon that if you build the tallest, you belong to the club of well to do nations although indi naman yun ang parameters.
sure it would create employment and wish them success. i remember north korea built the highest hotel building and it ended up as one useless piece of building. manila is congested, so i guess the only way is to go up and higher. id rather see more infrastructures saten that would help the majority para naman ma-alleviate ang poverty. sad, pero yun ang sector na walang investments.
Hmmm….tallest building chorvalais??
Then casino???
Lutong macau??
~kamot ulo~
I’d rather see funding for research and development sa field ng ating science and technology kesa sa infrastructures for casino and tourism chorvalais.
I hope the people will understand that we need to have structures/facilities like this so we can be recognized globally. Malaysia was nothing then… but when Petronas came, nag-iba ang dating nila sa buong mundo. Petronas towers commanded respect. Tayo, ano ang meron tayo?
I don’t think it’s in the building Ann. Brazil has a lot of building. Beautiful building ins Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro. But they have the worst crime ever.
It’s not the Petronas that gave Malaysia a good name. It’s good management by Mahathir. Petronas was just the crown for his excellent management of Malaysia. He worked on the infrastructure of the country, he worked on the great highways you see there. He had a vision of the country in terms of car making. He had a vision of the country in terms of making another Silicon Valley in Malaysia. He’s a leader Ann. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WE DON’T HAVE.
Our urban planning is jurassic if not bubonic. We don’t have the same highway networks like in Malaysia. Our political system is all infighting they don’t have time for Filipinos.
So building a high rise like PAGCOR will not change the Philippine’s image. It’s in the leader.
Nice! I don’t know this. Thanks for informing Ann. By the way, bagong salta sa Barrio si Ann? Ngayon ko lang kasi nakita.
I believe this project will give a lot of employment to us Filipinos. But I just hope that the crime rate won’t increase. Since this is a huge casino building, then there’s a great chance that there will be an increase in robbery, snatching, carnapping, etc.
I just hope that this project would provide us “more good” and “less evil”.
Most part will be within Manila then ayun sa link parang nakipagpartner sila sa SM prime holdings.. so yung dun sa malapit sa Macapagal highway yun yung share ng SM.. papahuli ba si Henry Sy pagdating sa pinakamalalaki at matataas? kodus to him! He’s making us proud!
It boosts morale and adds 10% atk rate sa mga tauhan mo.
yung bang tipong pag pinasabog mo yung Eiffel Tower, hindi mo na kailangan ng kasulatan, automatic, you are declaring war against France.
huwag tayong negative my friend. Let’s give it a try, dapat open tayo sa mga changes. Hinde naten malalaman hanggat hinde naten susubukan. But I hope planuhin nila eto ng maayos kse nasa ring of fire ang pinas, prone tayo sa mga earthquakes.
being a proud Filipino, i really want and love to see our country improving and slowly alleviating he poverty that we are suffering right now. and i hope that this wonderful project of the pagcor will bring our motherland to the ever dreamed prosperity and may all of us Filipinos be united and use and harness all our resources or us to put an end to this unwanted penury.
as an architecture student i believe that this project is really what the philippines need today. kasi it would give the people a visible sign that our country can still be great at something. napagaralan namin na ang society ay nangangailangan ng isang visible sign na may magandang pagbabago bago sila kumilos at baguhin ang sarili nila. ang maganda pa sa ganitong project ay madali itong magwa at makita ng marami. d katulad ng funding ng research na in its own way is pagsusugal din dahil d ganun kabilis ang feedback at r.o.i. ang isa pang kagandahan nito ay d lang sa tourism kundi mapapakita din natin sa mga foreign investors na maunlad tayo kahit papaano at malamang ay mas marami pang pumunta at maginvest. malamang din ay marinig naman at marecognize tayo ng mundo sa ganung paraan mas maraming rerespetuhin ang pinoy. sa pagtatayo lang ng landmarks magagawa yun. kasi kung aasa lang tayo sa pagmanage natin ng govt natin eh mukhang matagal pa. at least sa project na ito maiboost na ang nationalism ng pinoy. sa mga buildings lang na nagpapakita ng authority to magagawa. tignan mo ung makati laki ng improvement, dahil yan sa environment nila.
Let me get this straight this is a project that is a no-no for me.
1st geological reasons…The location of this ridiculous tower is beside Manila Bay right? So who the hell would put a tall and heavy tower on a muddy base and we’re in the Pacific Ring of Fire.
2nd is cost, this country is burried of debts and whatnot plus the corrupt men who will be behind on this DAMN project of theirs.
3rd is Philippines is one of terrorist infested countries…this tower could be one recipe for disaster.
SINO BANG TANGA ANG MAY PAKANA NG PROJECT NA TO? But thanks God that this project is scrapped.
What?? a big NO for this project? as usual you guys are counter productive.. whatever reasons you may saying… guys have you been in construction business? Everything is possible with the right design and of course appropriate safety measures, things i wont stressed just to educate you.
To the blogger: so your a call center agent with free time. and ur bf is in aviation and so on… in my opinion your a kid, not deserve to wrote stuff in which your not really familiar with. a lot of you people talk about our government when actually none of you knows we are rising now economically, we eliminate corruption, we strengthen our territorial defense for our economic zone, we had Malampaya oil, we guys had oil and many more oil explorations this year 2012. HSBC predicts us to be the 16th richest in the world by 2050.. our military is modernizing fast because china wants to invade spratly’s for our oil known as 4th largest in the world… You guys talk a lot about government and corruption when actually only a very few of you knows a thing about what is really happening?
Last thing projects like this is worth waiting for.
