Pinoys conquer New York fashion week
Filipinos once again are making waves in the world of fashion.
A young Filipina by the name of Charlene Almarvez has put the Philippines in the fashion map.

Charlene was the Philippine representative to the Ford Supermodel of the World competition in Sao Paolo, Brazil where she bagged the first runner up prize. The 17-year old student from DLSU-CSB is currently in New York for the Olympus fashion week where she’s doing an average of 10 shows per day, way higher than seasoned Asian models like Indian Lakshmi Menon.

Mel is is the ‘gurl’ behind “The Misadventures of Mel Beckham”. ‘She’ graduated with a double major in Management and Entrepreneurship. ‘She’ grew up in the city but now lives in the bukid near barrio siete juggling work as a farm manager, office secretary, messenger, construction worker, housemaid, make-up artist and babysitter. Despite ‘her’ busy schedule, ‘she’ finds the time to blog in between work, and errands using ‘her’ primitive mobile phone. ‘She’ plans to take ‘her’ MBA soon but ‘her’ multiple jobs prevent ‘her’ from doing so unless going to school will get ‘her’ paid to pay for ‘her’ utangs.
Before ‘she’ dies, ‘she’ hopes of owning a pair of Louboutins, and landing on the cover of Vogue, kahit sa Vogue India lang. Whichever comes first.

iba na talaga ang DLSU-CSB ngayon..
go benilde!
Congratulations to her and to so many more Pinoys making us proud! Na-alala ko na naman si Jessica Zafra at yung sinulat nya about Overseas Filipinos taking over the world! Hahaha! That was the best!
Congrats to these Pinays abroad!
