Big Party

Anti-Aquinos must be holding one big country fiesta with the news that although Senator Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III remained on top of a survey of presidential candidates, his lead over his rivals has been cut down.

What are the new numbers?

Aquino with 31 percent of the respondents, while Villar got 24 percent. Estrada was third with a 19 percent share while Teodoro breached the double digit mark for the first time with a 10 percent share. Gordon’s ratings climbed from virtually nil to 8 percent in the survey.

Who conducted the survey?

It was conducted by a group named The Issues and Advocacy Center. The period of survery was from Dec. 2 to 6. The survey was distributed to the press by Lakas spokesperson and Zambales Representative Mitos Magsaysay. The Center’s director Ed Malay said the survey involved 1,200 respondents and held a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percent. He said it was the first survey conducted since all candidates formalized their respective bids. (Source: Inquirer)

Who are they?

I don’t know.

They describe themselves as:

Publicity consultants with a mission to “create winning formulas that drive our political media campaigns to achieve the desired results and which are rooted on the highest moral and ethical standards in the pursuit of accurate, truthful and persuasive publicity campaigns.”(Source: Inquirer)

Bokya!

Anak nang leche oo! Mga PR Consultants pala!!! Their job is to package candidates exactly as what they said.

Hindi ako naniniwala dyan…Noynoy still has 51% of voters preference.

At mas lalo akong hindi naniniwala na (although unrelated): Grace Padaca lost to the Dy protest because… 18,000 ballots was filled up by a single person all by himself on election day, ayon sa Comelec.

Pasulatin ko kaya ang Comelec Komisyon-ner na yan ng kahit nalang 5,000 ballots maghapon kong kaya nya!

That’s the whole trouble with these “surveys”.

I still wonder why people give the bozos that conduct these surveys the time of day.

The issue should not be which candidate is popular. The issue should be which candidate makes sense.

A candidate’s popularity during his/her campaign does not in any way tell us whether or not he/she will do the job he/she is being elected for WELL.

    Indeed…

Anak nang leche oo! Mga PR Consultants pala!!! Their job is to package candidates exactly as what they said.

The onus is on us, the public, to step up and become more INTELLIGENT consumers of information. Until then, parasitical outfits like “PR consultants” and all these other “survey” agencies will be the among those laughing all the way to the bank everytime we have these elections.

Don’t you think that’s a bit too broad? Sino ba sa kanila ang walang sense?
