SWS Survey gives a different result for the 2010 Presidential Aspirants
The barrio siete folks want to become political anal-ysts too. So we try to analyze the news and express opinions.The opinions do not necessarily reflect those of other barrio siete councilors.
SWS survey shows that Manny Villar is on top of the pack of the 2010 Presidential Aspirants as opposed to the Pulse Survey where Noli de Castro was leading.
The first question is… which are we going to believe…a survey where there were 1,200 respondents only or the opinion survey where there were 7,000 respondents? Notice that the Pulse Survey was for the month of May while this SWS survey was for the period April 16 to May 6.
The second question is, who commissioned the survey?
Remulla admitted that the SWS survey that they commissioned for their internal use was reflective of the result of this survey. Meaning ?
The third question is, how come they released the result after the Pulse survey? Some damage control ?
Leading Candidates
Except for the position, a pattern has already emerged for popular candidates.
Noli de Castro and Chiz Escudero are in the top three in the two surveys.
Here is the result;
1. Manny Villar 22 per cent
2. Noli de Castro 18 per cent
3. Chiz Escudero and deposed President Erap Estrada
4. Senator Legarda 10 per cent
5. Senator Manuel Roxas with 9 percent;
6. Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson with 6 percent,
7. Makati Jejomar Binay with 2 percent;
8. Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando with 1 percent.
So what do you think? Are our preferences for candidates affected by the surveys?

This is just the result of my observation on the Boto mo Ipatrol mo debate last sunday.
I noticed that Mar Roxas and Hayden Kho might be RELATIVES. Why? It’s because Mar Roxas always had statements such as “ilalaban KO kayo, di aKO susuko, aKO ang bahala sa inyo, aKO, aKO, aKO.” With all due respect, I was just wandering why he always spoke about HIMSELF. I heard my neighbor say “Kaplastikan naman ang sinasabi ni Mar Roxas.”
I think I agree – our opinion.

opinion surveys are not really reliable ressie. they are mere opinion-influencers. when people see the result of the survey which is discussed as if its sample size is enough to get the pulse of the nation, subconsiously they feel that this is for real.
first:
the questionnaire.
how were the questions structured? did they put the names of the candidates to choose from or they just depend on the RECALL.
if it is the latter, erap, escudero and noli will really be easy to recall because they are visible and are always in the spotlight.
kaya nga di ba guso nila palagi silang nasa radyo, nasa TV at may malalaking billboard.
second:
the distribution of the questionnaires or the gathering of the data.
some field interviewers ay kung sino na lang ang kukunin nila para lang matapos ang quota nila.
how do we know na hindi nila pinasagutan sa kakilala nila, sa kaibigan nila at sa kamag-anak nila?
@the cat, this is exactly what I meant by “reliable”. how did they gather their data – the questionnaire and the sampling method used? who gather the data? ETC.
Totoo yung sinabi mo na baka, sila-sila lang nag sagot. Let’s say, si nanay nagsagot ng 20 forms, si tatay nagsagot ng 10, si bunso nagsagot ng 30, Iniiba iba lang ang pangalan. Lol
Ano ang control kung meron man?

I have no more trust on elections – the possibility that someone can change or transform the Philippines and bring her back from the pit hole where she is right now. This is not a positive attitude pero ito talaga ang nafefeel ko at siguro, ito din ang tingin ng iba nating mga kababayan.
At ito rin ang tingin ko.. =)

Recently lang may nagconduct ng survey sa dagupan city. ang choice ng respondent sa Presidentiable ay si Eddie Villanueva. ang sabi ng nagsurvey what if 5 na lang pagpipilian, hindi na kasama c villanueva… hanggang sa umabot na lang ng tatlo. nakahalata na ung respondent na pinipilit sila na pumili out of dun sa tatlong candidate na naiwan sa tatlo. in this case, pano maiprepresent sa survey yung actual talaga na choice ng taongbayan. ang effect nito sa mga tao syempre pag nakita nilang laglag na sa survey yung bet nila, discouraged na sila to vote for their choice. ganun na ba ka-miserableng ipanalo nila ung mga kandidato na hindi naman karapat dapat? pls dont participate na lang sa survey. wag po tayo maging part na ganitong panloloko. Please be concern, vote wisely, pray for the righteous leader.
