The ability to perform some task; Meeting specified qualifications to perform; implicit knowledge of a language’s structure

This kind of partisanship and divisiveness among Filipino voters have been used as a leverage by the candidates …

I hate political advertisements. To me it’s just a waste of money that should be spent elsewhere. I would like the candidates to spend their election funds on projects that would be beneficial to people in need.
Officially, I have no candidates yet. I’m still busy looking through candidates with my personal magnifying glass. There are the political ads, with their shots at informing the electorate of their platform, if there ever was one, but mostly their faces and their attempt of projecting themselves as candidates, pathetic as it …

The Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines today via CBCP President Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo issued a very timely statement with regards to block voting. Block voting has been used here in our country as a means to propel or catapult the votes of a certain prefered candidate, disabling others to choose and practice their own freedom of choice. Inquirer.net ran the brief story today and let me quote it verbatim:
The head of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines has reiterated the Church stance against BLOCK VOTING for Catholics …

In a surprise announcement that occurred moments ago, Senator Noynoy Aquino, the one and only son of former president Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino and hailed Philippine patriot and senator, Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino Jr., declared his candidacy for presidency in the much awaited 2010 elections.
Previously, Senator Mar Roxas was the confirmed standard bearer for the Liberal Party (to which both Roxas and Noynoy bleong). But in a gesture of being a gentleman and sacrificing his own presidential bid, he paved way for Noynoy Aquino’s bid for the presidency.
From Mel Beckham’s …

Basta they’re not making eyeglass. Hahaha!
Anyway, sorry, kulet kasi ni Maldito.
Eh eto nga noh? Nag-resign si Edu Manzano. Gusto syang harbatin nang Lakas-Kampi-CMD should Edu decide na mag-run as …

Just this afternoon, when I was doing research for my articles, I found this interesting topic in Pinoy Exchange dot com. The discussion is about a what-if scenario: JAZA (better known as Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala) for president? It sounded a juicy topic for me and it really picked my brain. What if nga di ba?
So who is JAZA?
Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala belongs to the one of the wealthiest and powerful business families in the Philippines – the Ayalas. He is the current CEO of the …

Here in Barrio Siete, we do not share the same interests and opinions. Sometimes we disagree on things and choices we make. Like this one, I’m sure many of our ka-barrios and readers will disagree with my choice. Hahaha!
The funeral of Tita Cory was a worldwide event.

As I do my usual rounds in the cyberspace, I spotted this tid bit of news from GMAnews.tv:
Even though at least five senators are already reported to be eyeing the presidency, Senator Jamby Madrigal on Friday announced that she will also join the race to become the Philippines’ next chief executive.
Madrigal said she has realized, after a two-week retreat during the month-long Congress session break, that she would seek the country’s highest post to “serve [the] country in a greater capacity.”
As the announcing of candidancy for becoming the next Pwesident …

At ang sabi nung junakees nya, “It’s an honor to the country!” Huh?! What country?! Pampanga?!
Washington DC is about 2.5 hours away from my Barrio Siete, Philadelphia. At kung andun ako sa Philly, I would have driven para masilayan ko si Glory, sa kanyang visit ki Oby, in Washington DC. Konti lang naman ang tanong ko ki Gloria and she does not even have to call a friend para sagutin.
Question Number 1: Ba’t …

Gulantang ako kanina before I headed to work. There was this email I received about Chiz Escudero. It said:
Reynz, ang pers lab mong si Chiz is social climbing in the dark!

HUH?! Social climbing in the dark?! Ano yon?! Latest version nang social climbing?! So, I called up the the person who emailed me while driving. What he told me was enough for me na isalpak ang preno sa tapat nang pulis! Waaaa!!!
What’s the buzz?!

Tenkyu mga kababaryo… barrio council, mga writers, contributors, mga tanods, mga miron at mga amuyong… Hello.
Pero for purposes of me planning to stay past my Kapitana term, you have no choice but to listen.

This 2010 Election Automation has now made a very interesting turn. It’s laway connection and the whole thing was an arkila election. Confused with what I have just said? That was not the intent. I was confused. And reading the series of the entries on Ellenville, one commenter who was notorious at Reyna Elena was trying to push it on a different tangent. It’s more like – to hell with how the contract was drawn, let’s push the automation! Haller?! Kahit lopsided ang contract? Does the end (automated polls) justify …

Ed Panlilio ang plano nya to run for President. Ang bottom line kasi nito is the separation of Church and the State. Pag pinagsama mo nga naman sila, mistulang Iran. But does it really mean na porque merong “Fr.” sa unahan nang pangalan ni Panlilio eh this is now equivalent to the marriage of …

While it’s July 5 now in Manila, it is still July 4 in America and the July 4 fireworks is going to lit up in the skies of America in a few hours. Interestingly, a celebration of independence and more so for America’s founding fathers – the country’s leaders.
Quite honestly, I could not count how many leadership classes, seminars and conferences I have attended. During my business school days, we get bombarded with a lot of leadership talks. The school would invite speakers in different fields from the government sector, …

“Umuuwi ka pa sa Bicol?”
Yan parati ang tanong saken nang mga nakikilala ko. Ang typical kong answer?
“Bihira.”
I get a lot of weird look whenever I give that response.

Camarines Sur Representative Luis Villafuerte has resigned from the Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (Kampi) party. He was the party president. La Kapitana del Barrio Siete is not part of this merger.

Anyway, his party – Kampi Party was supposed to merge with the ruling administration party Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats. Who presided the merger? Gloria Arroyo.
Even former President Ramos, the chairman emeritus of Lakas-CMD was a no show. Pangasinan Representative Jose de Venecia, who resigned last year as Lakas president and was appointed president emeritus, resigned from his post on the eve …
