I’d like to thank GMA News TV. Great job Howie (Severino) talaga! What a wonderful Live Streaming service this news agency gave us Overseas Filipinos. Imagine not seeing this historic event. GMA News TV is truly a beacon of light in the wee hours here in the East Coast, halfway around the globe from Manila.
I purposely did not sleep tonight. Isang drum nang kape ang tinira ko. It is now 5:24am in the East Coast as I write this blog entry. I waited for the proclamation. I …

Eto na naman tayo. The cheating dramatics continues. I bet you, kasumpa-sumpa na siguro nang Smartmatic of doing business in the Philippines hehehe!
But like the koala bear story, like the Susano flash card story, Homobono Adaza confess that he …

Matatandaan na nagkaron nang pa-binggo sa PICC in Pasay City noong election day. Me tambiolo, me bolang puti at me numero.
“We did not see something that will really shock us… overall it looks like the counts of the PCOS machines …

I noticed a slew of anti-Chiz Escudero FB pages that sprouted. In fact, I “liked” the one page that was sent to me.
Please do not interpret my “liking” the page literally. This is a free society. People are just expressing their thoughts about Chiz actions. I do not hate Chiz Escudero. I was just interested what people say about him.
What I found interesting is that, it’s a combination of different colors. Why are Gibo fans angry at him?
As you may recall, Chiz suddenly campaigned for a Noy-Binay tandem. It …

With his penchant for badly fitting shirts, dorky hair style, and complete lack of personal charisma, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino appears the most unlikely person to win an election by a landslide. But with most of the votes counted, Mr Vanilla of Manila has galloped into Malacanang Palace, the official residence of the President of the Philippines.
There were nine presidential contenders in this week’s general election and Noynoy seized close to 40% of the vote. In a country with over 7000 far flung islands, the call usually takes days, …

I’m tired of elections. Kaya it’s time for world peace.
They moved at nag-iba na nang bahay. And none of them told me where.
Boylet number 1 is for Villar. …

Wala lang. Share. Kaloka ang news na to. But I’m interested to find out what THEY found out.
Here’s the news:
“In as much as I need to honor my word as I conceded the elections for goodwill, we have factual data on hand which unfolded after my having conceded (which we will soon after release) that indicates conclusive irregularities in the numbers,” De los Reyes said.
“If I do not speak against these new findings, then my party’s integrity, as …

Oh you silly Filipinos!
Now it can be told, you are 1st world na! Kunyari pa kayo! I’m not referring to the Senators that you voted. Tse!
So, go make tagay, for that was one heck of a job well done!
Ok. Wait… Maybe that was a little bit too high. But the 2010 National Elections is a good step putting us at least close to making it to the standards of the western world, di ba? A few more tweaks and we should be ok.
But let me make this clear, …

In his post game analysis, Cocoy writes:
The importance of surveys
At the onset of the campaign, Villar conducted what Manolo Quezon called “the air war.” As strategists and tacticians know (and real time strategy players too), you can’t invade land with just planes. You still need your army and your marines. Planes simply don’t occupy land.
With that in mind, the rise of Estarda and the fall of Villar follows our raison d’être from the start of the campaign. That in this election, voter preference sided with “cares for the poor” and …

As expected, the influence of certain bloggers can now be denied.
Despite all the bashing and scandals unleashed online against candidates such as Herbert Bautista and Noynoy Aquino, including an online hate campaign unleashed against Reyna Elena for supporting Noynoy Aquino, these hate bloggers essentially were spurned by the electorate.
This leads us to this question: Are online and offline hate campaigns effective?
I say, no.
The conventional thinking will probably still be around for a while. What bloggers refuse to understand is that, a clear majority of our population is still impoverished, …

Some registered voters in Malabon got irritated when Nacionalista Party (NP) vice-presidential guest candidate Loren Legarda went ahead of the queue at the precinct when polls opened on Monday.
Some supporters in Potrero, Malabon cheered “Loren, Loren, Loren” when she arrived, while other voters reminded Legarda that she should fall in line.
“Ma’am, pila po kayo,” some voters said.
“Ay pila ba to, ay sorry ha? Gusto nyo akong pumila, balik ako sa pila? Sobrang bagal ba?” replied Legarda.
Despite the appeal of those who were in line, Legarda …

LAGUNA, PHILIPPINES – In Calamba Laguna, PCOS Machines are A-okay but like what happened in some areas, voting was very slow because most of the precincts allowed the senior citizens to cast their votes first. Lines were disorganized everywhere. Complaints are mounting since the clustered precincts are only using 1 PCOS machine in Calamba Central School. Many voters were on queue for hours and most of them already went home due to utter frustration and boredom. Verified reports reveal that the BEIs themselves attempted to devise ways to ease the …

“This will implode today.” Information technology (IT) experts foresee a catastrophic national elections on Monday, saying the haphazard preparations of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and its contractor, Smartmatic TIM Corp., would produce an avalanche of technical problems that would make a successful elections an impossibility.

ALMOST EVERY ELECTION SCENARIO HAS been played out in the lively Filipino press. One variable hasn’t been much discussed: the question of what Washington will do—if anything—in the event that President Macapagal-Arroyo, on whatever grounds, declares the elections “failed” with the result that she remains in Malacañang.
Now we are begging the question of whether Washington could do anything, or should do anything. We are putting it aside for others to deal with. We are only contemplating what we think will happen, based on our own experience in …

The news on the ground that we are getting is not good. This will not be very pleasing to any of your senses. The violence, harassment and intimidation seem to be directed at the poll watchers guarding the most important PCOS machines.
There was an incident in Tumauini, Isabela and these pictures that you are seeing were among the first responders to the incident. These are from Marco Cabrera, BnW/PPVC watcher.
We also received another report in Nueva Ecija. There was a grenade blast near the polling precinct where watchers were …

MANILA, Philippines—He looked more like a cockfighter’s kristo—a bet caller —than a presidential candidate as he waved a fistful of paper notes with one hand and held up the back of his sliding Paddock’s jeans with the other in a late-night rally in Zamboanga City whose size could rival that of an Eraserheads’ reunion concert.
With his thinning hair, stooped shoulders and awkward gait, Sen. Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III could not care less about his looks in a campaign where he faces the most expensive political …

By now, I guess it must be obvious that I am voting for Noynoy. This, however, is not about Noynoy, and not even about why I’m voting for him and not for Villar, Gibo, Gordon, Erap, Bro. Eddie, Jamby, JC or Nicky.
I’ve actually made up my mind to not post anything anymore about Noynoy in the hopes of convincing anyone to vote for him. By this time it’s pretty obvious to me that if not all, most of us have decided on who our …

When Manny Villar declared that he would run for President, I was inclined to vote for him because, I thought then that being a well-known successful businessman he could led our country to progress. Subsequently, I changed my mind and decided that I should vote for Noynoy Aquino when he joined the presidential race for two reasons: First, he could be a good President because of his non-involvement in any corruption during his tenure as a congressman and later as a senator. Second, I was influenced by the massive clamor …
