“You can count it by the hours folks! The buses are full of students and folks going home to the provinces to vote. In fact, Noynoy is in Tarlac waiting for that day. If you ask me, I can smell victory. But what about the remaining undecideds? Well, here’s a commentary from BusinessWorld…”

“The world’s eyes will be focusing on us come Monday. There are already a number of international papers writing about what is going on in the country. Here’s an article written by Brett M. Decker, an editorial page editor of The Washington Times. He writes about the software problems to the possibility of Arroyo abrogating the elections next week and its ultimate effect on investor and BPO client perception of the Philippines. Like what I’ve been saying on my FB wall, let’s not pray for honest and free elections …

My sister was nagging me on whom to vote for on May 10 for the Malacañang post. I haven’t really convinced myself yet, even for VP and senators. There should be something I need to do in order to counter asymmetric information so that I’ll be properly informed given that I am not in the Philippines to actually observe the campaign. The only thing I heard of are the muds that are being thrown left and right against various candidates and …

It’s interesting to note that 10 years ago, May 4, 2000 to be exact, the “I love you” virus would spread across the world causing billions of US dollars in damages shutting down the network systems of even the Pentagon, CIA and the British Parliament.
Will history repeat itself?!
I’m not reporting any “I love you” virus or am I planting some Halloween conjectures for after all, it’s Comelec, who started blasting us with the specter of No Elections. I just find this loving history interesting given that the notoriety …

Basically, you can say that our jurassic election system using the legacy dag-dag bawas software version negative one, is getting a much needed upgrade. And how’s the conversion working?
Well, now it can be told officially. The tests produced weird results blares the headline on the Inquirer.
It seems like the votes were being transposed from “Si, Senor” to “Opo, Ma’am“! What do you say? Smartmatic turned into Rosetta Stone!
If that’s not enough, let’s postpone the election! ~!@#$%^!!! As in NO ELECTIONS?! As in ELECTION FAILURE?! What gives …

A Framework for Decision
By: Jose Gabriel M. La Viña
April 28, 2010
“Twelve days from today, we will be choosing the 15th president of our republic in the country’s first-ever automated elections. A cacophony of slogans and reasons for supporting one candidate or the other permeates the air. Some say this election is about the yellow or the green, the orange or the tangerine. Others seem to think it’s about the Ateneo, U.P. or La Salle. Still others debate the influence of Kris Aquino, Willie Revillame, or God help us, Manny Pacquiao.
I …

I read the link. And then it hit me…“There is a difference between being frank and being a downright jackass, a difference that seems to have been blurring the closer we get to May 10″. …

Be sure to check your name in the list of voters that will be printed in the precinct where you will vote. It is the responsibility of the Board of Election Inspector to post the final list of voters in each precinct.

As you all know, this Vice-Presidential contest has shaped-up into a Mar Roxas-Jejomar Binay contest. And with Binay supporters like Chiz banking on Noynoy-Binay, they have now edged or have catched up with Loren Legarda.
Well this is not sitting very well with Loren Legarda. She is not a happy camper. In fact, she went overboard with her charges! I was reading this article on the Inquirer and she really went a bit far with her complaints, at least that’s how I read her explanation. …

“Unfair kayo sa kapatid ko!” That was the statement blurted out by one of the Villar sisters during the press conference they held.
In my mind, what the sister meant was that, Manny Villar, the candidate was fair and truthful in his political campaign dealings, thus the sister demanded fairness, was she not? Which brings me to this question: Was there really truth and fairness in the Villar campaign?
Let’s back up for a minute and check the “fair barometer” of Manny Villar.

I attended my barangay’s seminar on the 2010 elections, arranged by the Captain Ralph Diaz. I learned a few things from Mr. Diaz about the election ballot that could be informative for all of us:
1. The ballot is very, very sensitive to marks, ink, water, stains, scratches, folds, sweat, etc. If, say, you have grime on your hands, or your hands are wet, or your sweat drips onto the ballot, the PCOS (Precinct Count Optical Scan) Unit will not read it. So, keep your hands very clean before …

Alumni of the Ateneo de Manila University Batch 1974 and a political officer of the Liberal Party have challenged Nacionalista Party presidential bet Senator Manny Villar to stop sowing intrigues and lies against Liberal party tandem Senator Benigno S. Aquino III and Senator Mar Roxas II.
Rose Romero, one of the political officers of Roxas, said Villar’s camp should present the woman in the digital video disc (DVD) who claimed that Roxas was behind the black propaganda against Aquino. Romero added that Guido Delgado, …

“I THINK IT’S ALL OVER: NOYNOY AQUINO will be our next president. Thus says Neal Cruz.”
And boy did I agree on the article! This is a lesson in political campaigning. It is also a sign of something that is changing, and I hope the votes will reflect that biggest and most important change. That we can no longer be bought. We, the Filipino people reject the nasty below the belt tactics similar to a hate campaign. It’s a sign. We still have a lot of learning to do in conducting …

“Guido Delgado is a liar,” said Atty. Edwin Lacierda, spokesperson of Senator Benigno S. Aquino III, in response to a press conference called by the Nacionalista Party (NP) on Tuesday.
Delgado, a staunch supporter and one of the campaign officials of Manny Villar, presented several documents purporting to be a case study and psychiatric evaluation of Aquino that allegedly “fell on his lap” after an unknown source supposedly delivered the documents to volunteers of Manny Villar.
Delgado admitted the documents were unverified. He said he is leaving the task of verification to …
