The Inauguration Day Fashion Report

2 July 2010 15 Comments

Touted the even as the most star-studded presidential inauguration ever, it featured performances from well-known Filipino artists. Showbiz denizens mingled with politicians and diplomats in the audience. Arguably, it was the most anticipated official function of recent memory. ~ Spot.ph

Pictured below are the list of celebrities who made some fashion statement during the inauguration day of Noynoy Aquino.  Have your say on who wore our traditional gown and Barong Tagalog better. Photo credits courtesy of JJ Soriano and Iliac Diaz:

Kris Aquino looks flamboyant in her Randy Ortiz terno adorned with yellow roses.

Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad is a picture of elegance and simplicity in her yellow terno. The gown was designed by Rajo Laurel

Mikee Cojuangco in beige terno with ‘golden nuggets’ choker.

Baby James Yap looks cool in yellow polo and Ray-ban

The mega family: Senator Kiko Pangilinan wearing Barong Tagalog; Sharon Cuneta in black and yellow terno, KC Concepcion in a 1920-ish lace inspired look; Frankie in yellow terno and Miel in Maria Clara gown.

Star for all Season and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos in blue patadyong. Husband Senator Ralph Recto in Barong Tagalog. Both matched their attire with sunglasses. Hmmm…

Ogie Alcasid wearing a Barong Tagalog and Regine Velasquez wearing a red terno (a Patis Tesoro creation).

Outgoing President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo also attended the event in a white terno. A super low-profile color compared to her fuchsia gown last July 2009 SONA.

And lastly….

While, I 100% agree that Charice Pempengco is cute as a button, I can’t however understand why she had chosen to wear this unusual gown. Gosh, the gown or terno or whatever you call it reminds me so much of Snow White and the seven dwarves in cartoon movies!

Alam mo hija, you made my head spin with your choice of gown. So please, next time,  choose your gown wisely my dear…at tandaan mo, ayokong makikita kang ganyan sa Glee! ~LOL~

Cheers,

LOL

  • Mel says:

Mikee’s dress is from her mom’s closet. So chic!

Shalani is a picture of elegance.

    And Charice? OMG.

  • Paolo says:

Charice’s gown is gorgeous but it didn’t look good on her. Because she’s too short while the design is so flamboyant, that’s why it didn’t work on her. I guess so.

  • reynz says:

Kudos to B7. just continue on doing a great job. this is truly what blogs should be; magaan sa mata. salamat po.

Tama lang ang gown ni Charice sa edad niya and I think they all look fabulous! I enjoyed looking at the pix and somehow I am back to my roots…dito kasi kami sa ibayong dagat at matagal na di nakauwi. Thanks B7 for posting those. Keep up the good job!
