If you have read our About Us page, we have a Barrio Council in Barrio Siete. Not all of the entries are being deliberated though. Only issues which we find repugnantly unacceptable. One of which was this very damning and hateful entry with insinuations of murder written by Paoloxide. The hateful entry was posted on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 10:23pm on Facebook entitled, “The Philosophy of Bitch Writing“. Soon after he found out that we were reading, he blocked all of us.

While majority in the Barrio Council agreed that we should just ignore the sannamabitch entry, the entry was so hateful that I, as La Kapitana and the target of the hate entry, made an executive decision to respond. Buraot would make his response as well.

The Philosophy of Bitch Writing by Paoloxide

I was recently pointed by bloggers Jehzeel Laurente and Winston Almendras to an unhinged article flaming Janet Toral’s recently concluded blogging project ‘The 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009′.

1.) Jehzeel Laurente, I met him at Nuffnang and Pagcor. I remember him emailing me and wanting to meet in Greenbelt, in one of our EB when Joy from London went home. I am not really friends with Jehzeel nor I treat him as an enemy. I’d say, I’m diplomatic. Joking at times.

2.) Winston Almendras, I spoke with him on the phone who told me that he was excited to see me (I forgot the name of this place we went to, overlooking the City). We were in Davao City then with Beng, Malen and Ambo. I believe he is a friend of Ambo and he wanted to join us that night, which according to Ambo, he wanted to meet me. He never made it and we never met. I don’t know this blogger.

3.) The entries we made we’re not “flaming”. Flaming is responding to other posts or users posting on a site, and these responses are typically clueless and does not clarify a position or discussion nor does it even persuade readers. This entry I posted took a long time of investigation. What we saw were posted in the entry itself. If Paoloxide cared to read, he’d find that we have some very serious and legitimate issues.

I didn’t read the whole article because it came from someone whom I considered hideous — A person whom I stopped respecting after he taunted the loss of a certain mommy blogger’s child.

Admittedly, the hateful blogger did not even read any of our issues. So, what do we have? An entry that boomeranged to Paoloxide who is now bitching himself and is a classic example of flaming.

1.) If am hideous to this blogger, then what is more hideous than being homophobic, inciting hatred and murder? Worse, ignorant of our issues?

2.) Taunting the loss of a blogger’s child. This is a blatant lie. That incident with that mother blogger he is talking about is fully documented in Reyna Elena. The attack by her started at Yuga’s site and she brought this to Twitterland, caught in the act, calling her minions. Let me repeat – started by her.

More than being insensitive and out of place, I found him simple; far too primitive for my sophisticated and abstract attention.

1.) Again, simple enough, if Paoloxide is far more sophisticated than me, then the entry disproves his egoistic claim. There is no sophistication in hateful bashing, albeit homophobic and inciting murder to another blogger, without even understanding the issues being discussed in the entry. His entry is nothing but hatred to Reyna Elena for whatever it is that bothers this blogger. Maybe Paoloxide could find some balls enough to clarify with me so we can settle where the utter hatred is coming from.

Truth is, the same blogging project (and, for that matter, perhaps all Pinoy contests) has been subject to criticism before along with accusations of rigging, false wins, bad organization and wrong contest name. LOL.

1.) If indeed this blogging project by Janette Toral has been accused of rigging in the past, then why was it not resolved? Why was it not improved with the assistance of Paoloxide? Was Janette Toral’s intention to ask for my support was to give some sense of integrity into the award? Did Janette Toral used me? My stand on fair game and transparency on the internet is well-known in Pinoy blogosphere. Sorry kiddo, but this is one Barrio Siete kid, worked my ass off to be where I am right now without any connections, political tito or even cheating done. No, I did not come from a ritzy family. Nag-araro ako nang todo. You get where I am coming from why I go for fair and square? So that unknown barriotic people or bloggers gets an equal chance. Do you feel that kiddo?

Sure, this is our culture of competition — the let-me-win-lest-I-bitch approach — but I actually thought these issues were already quieted in 2007. Looks like someone forgot to read the memo. (or take Prozac) Teehee!

1.) Quieted?! As Glo would ask, May ipapangit pa ba ang moral standards sa Pilipinas? And this has now been prevalent amongst the younger generations. They can no longer distinguish what is right from what is wrong when they see one. And if indeed the Influential Blogging Rules by Janetter Toral has been wrong from the beginning, then how come one sophisticated Paoloxide did not come to the rescue and right the wrong? Could it be that Paoloxide is clueless on what is right and generally acceptable?

2.) True, I was not aware of any memo. I was doubtful of these awards in Philippine blogosphere. They all have some self-serving purpose. Considering what I know about the Philippine Blog Awards, Janette’s Influential Blog Awards is also serving her business. Yet, I supported Janette when asked, hoping that she’d live by my standards.

So as not to give him a rockstar tribute, let’s call him The Neoplatonist.

Thank you for the title. If you must know, I have tons already. Delusional, faggot, eternal internet drama queen, queenie, hungry CPA, jologs, barriotic, bitch, nincompoop, neoplatonist. I can’t keep up, but I’ll take a note of it.

In the 5th century, a small group of educated people bonded together to form a sect called Neoplatonism aimed at pushing their own dogma against what was then a growing cult known as Christianity. These Neoplatonists were educated peepz, but they resorted to crass and tactless propaganda. They were insensitive in their criticism; downright insulting and gauche. Later on, ego corrupted their coconuts, and they beat the purpose of their own vision. They argued among themselves using the same ill-witted rhetoric and dis-aligned from the morals they were trying to convey. In the end, their sect broke and were each left at the hands of the cults they maligned.

Barrio Siete Dot Com will be an envy in the Philippine blogosphere and an insult to “winners”. Our Alexa rankings will tell you that our blog is second to none in Manila. Our very diverse writers comes from Bukidnon to London with academic credentials that could put to shame Paoloxide. There is no other blog in Manila that is able to accomplish what we have accomplished in such a very short period of time and we expect stones being thrown at us because of this. Yes, Barrio Siete Dot Com poses a challenge and an insult to all the “winners” kuno of the Influential Bloggers and other Philippine blog awards out there. Yes, I said “all”. Except for Carlo Ocab, not one of them could come close to Barrio Siete’s performance. Not one. Not even the ones closest to Google who clearly is clueless and who could not even define what “influential” means considering that she taught at DLSU?! Huh?! ~kablag~ (hinimatay).

Proper warnings have been sent to Barrio Siete Writers even during our 1st month when we started seeing some unbelievable ranking and readership. If Paoloxide must know, Barrio Siete is very strong. Our teamwork on the sidelines is unbelievable. So, entries like this is not a surprise as subject of jealousy and me being the leader, be called Neoplatonist. We sure do dis-agree all the time. But we are not cannibals like those sa kaVilang Varrio. We have respect with one another. And yes, Paoloxide, we are educated. From Barrio Siete colleges to some of the best universities in the world. Our credentials are out there. I come from GWU and Temple in the US. Lalaine is from Oxford in London. Where is yours and where you from?

If you haven’t noticed the likes of Kristy Fermin and Lolit Solis (or, if you’re coniotic, Howard Stern), the articles of Perez Hilton, and 21st century music; the idea of dissing people around for the purpose of grabbing attention isn’t exactly a fresh approach. In fact, what we’ve learned in the past is that Bitch Writing, where one is willing (examples above) is almost a sure fire way of making a name for yourself. You talk it, Walk it, and Live it! Yay!!!

If you may know Paolo, way before Reyna Elena even started blogging, OFW’s already know who Reyna Elena was. I frequented an OFW Forum on the dot gov site. I posted a number of business articles that I personally wrote. A lot of these OFW’s picked it up and soon would start emailing me and asked if they could publish my articles. OFW’s in Israel even printed some of the articles I wrote in their weekly magazine – but without my knowledge. I have assisted a number of OFW’s putting up small businesses and writing business plans. Those were my accomplishments ever before I started blogging. Go visit the Forum and search years 2005 and 2006 and hopefully you’d find me there. In other words, I already have a name from day one when I moved from the forum to blogging. And this is probably one of the reason why OFW’s continue to follow me. Add the magnet of Barrio Siete Writers and you have Barrio Siete’s readership with about 60% to 70% Overseas Pinoys and/or OFW’s. Take time to read our archives, they’re not bitch writings, rather, originals and well-thought out. Not like the ones dictated by the teacher.

So the real question is, given the effectiveness and the skyrocketing advantage of Bitch Writing (not including moral values and risk of libel and murder, of course) is WHY ISN’T EVERYBODY DOING IT?

Do not be naive. Do not be hypocrite. You are sophisticated, aren’t you? Fact is, your entry is nothing but bitchy. And the insinuation of murder will haunt you. I hope you realize the magnitude of your hateful entry.

Hah! Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?!

You’re right. I did not see it coming Paolo. I did not see that you would actually do Bitch Writing yourself and insinuate on murder!

But SRSLY, if all you budding writers skipped the anti-GMA rhetoric for some Britney Spears and Vanessa Hudgens, you wouldn’t have to pretend your charlatanism, you wouldn’t have to use so many Latin lawyery vernacular… jargon… linguistics… whatever, and you would’ve gotten somewhere by now. Challenge 101 for New Media is to invade the mainstream. None of you would survive it unless you were on the offensive.

Wrong. Carlo Ocab is an influential blogger. Was he offensive? I bet you, he is surviving as hell. And in terms of your hateful entry – which step are you now on your offensive? Is there step two coming?

Too nice to be a charlatan? Robert Greene’s “48 Laws of Power” actually has some good advise for the chosen few:

Step 1. Keep it Vague
To create a cult you must first attract attention. This you should do not through actions, which are too clear and readable, but through words, which are hazy and deceptive.

Step 2. Emphasize the Visual and the Sensual over the Intellectual.
Once people have begun to gather around you, two dangers will present themselves: boredom and skepticism. You need to amuse the bored and ward off the cynics. The best way to do this is through theater… dazzle your followers with visual splendor, fill their eyes with spectacle. Appeal to all the senses.

Step 3. Borrow the Forms of Organized Religion to Structure Your Group
Your cultlike following is growing; it is time to organize it. Create rituals for your followers; organize them into a hierarchy, ask them for sacrifices that will fill your coffers and increase your power. Talk and act like a prophet.

There… So tomorrow I want you all to start taking in some evil and talking some smack, Ok? I dont want any more Neoplatonists being passed around by well-respected folks. I want Tita Toral to talk bad about Winston (LOL), and I want Gibbs to taunt them. Then maybe, just maybe, we’d have some real controversies on here and not just some lame blabber throwing spaghetti on the wall hoping something would stick. Cleearly, the Neoplatonists didn’t have what it takes. You all do.

Clearly, we in Barrio Siete are cute, otherwise, your entry will be non-existent. So, tag along for the traffic. Crudely enough, your claim of sophistication is blasphemously non-existent either. You do not even have any balls to identify yourself and would go to the extent of blocking all of us and hid your bitchy entry. That’s not being responsible. That’s not being authoritative and that’s not being charlatan. Da nerd to call it sophistication! Tse!

You know Reynz, he’s good in writing. I’ll give him that. But this kid, doesn’t have direction. I remember that good writers are good listeners. I just can’t figure out why he didn’t. Joing the “sabit” crew of Barrio Siete perhaps? Ahh publicity. Aawayin ang Reyna para mapansin ng mga Pinoy bloggers.

Alam mo Reynz, dapat gawan mo ng negosyo yan. Kailangan ng permit para awayin ka. Tutal tataas traffic nila for a day? a week? Dagdag sentimo sa adsense nila di ba?

    • Silver says:

      Rob,

Pasingit lang. If he is a good writer, then he could make sense out of what he wrote. Unfortunately, he didnt.

Parang sa laro ng basagang palayok, tira ng tira na di naman alam kung asan ba talaga ang palayok. In the end, tinamaan pa nya ang sarili nya.

      Naisip ko lang. ;)

    • reynz says:

he does write good Rob, no question. if only he writes something that makes sense instead of writing hate entries. he’s such a loser. i hope he can channel this hatred into something positive. or better still let me know where that hatred is coming from.

      • Emmeline says:

Reynz, ang bitch nya..haha where is he coming from? i mean may valid ba sya na arguments?

        • reynz says:

he’s got no arguments at all. lahat nung items that he pointed out were lies, you can read my response. mistulang pugot na manok just runnin’ around. kaya bitchin’ ang labas nung entry. it’s a hate entry.

    • pehpot says:

pede ba un? Inay i di dis own muna kita at mumurahin sa blog ko..

  • Reesie says:

I heard that he is a coward. Lolz. Hindi niya pinanindigan tong post niya to. Ito ba ang tinatawag niyang sophistication? Waaaa. Parang di niya alam what sophistication means. Talak lng siya ng talak, eh wala naman basehan.

  • dencios says:

(yawn..) hindi ko maintindihan ang ingles. masyado siyang nag-thesaurus. isa pa wala siyang pangalan kaya hindi worth reading

    • reynz says:

magaling syang magsulat denz, if only he could use that to something better than tirahin ako personally. obviously the guy must be having some problems who knows what kind

    • pehpot says:

  • Monique says:

di ko pa nababasa yung entry before this, pardon pero i think this entry by paoloxide would make you ask that question.
as a newbie sa blogging and really newbie as i am only getting to know a handful thru barrio siete, i’d have to say, “pati ba naman dito sa blogging eh uso pa rin yung mga ganito?” kung sino nga yung getting influential eh syang binabato.
pano ba naman, mukhang hitik na hitik kc itong barrio.
sad to read/know that such ’seemingly’ educated people would resort to write something like this. pathetic.

    • rob says:

Monique, culture also play a role in social media. Blogging included. One reason why Barrio Siete is so famous and being criticized is that it challenged the status quo, barriotic style! It created its own community and was able to be influential. Which for some, will take a lot of SEO effort and ass sucking before they achieve it or proclaim that they did achieve it. Barrio Siete took 3 months.

      • reynz says:

You got that right Rob. We challenged the status quo on a lot of things.

1.) We challenged the status quo that a blog is not a blog if it’s written in other creepy language other than english. Yan ang banat saken nang mga tiga Manila including kaVilang Varrio. We proved them wrong.

2.) “Eh bakla lang yan!” We challenged the status quo that yes, sexual orientation has got nothing to do in propelling a blog to the stratosphere.

3.) We challenged the status quo that because we’re low class, we won’t be able to penetrate certain levels of the alphabet

4.) We challenged the status quo that we’re not even doing SEO yet our rankings have gone way past some of the SEO guys (no offense to them)

If there is anything that they can learn from Barrio Siete, hindi ko sasabihin! HAHAHA!

      • Monique says:

True Rob. It makes me sick na ganito tayo. I mean, we do have a lot of good traits but when the negative comes up, naku! Talk about talanka mentality. O baka nga naman para tumaas ang traffic niya for a week or a few days. lol!

        • rob says:

I think some of us got stuck in the past. The real essence of blogging and building communities was shattered by the motive of making cents. I said awhile ago the culture plays a role in social media. I guess attitude too. While the world is busy trying to connect to each other, some of us are busy disconnecting everybody for their personal gains.

    • reynz says:

      @monique,

that was a hate entry. kung andito yan sa America… hmmm… i think he would know already what his culpabilities are

  • malensky says:

Everything he said backfired on him that’s why he’s hiding in facebook now HAHAHA. Gagawa ng entry for public viewing tapos biglang gagawing “for friends only” HAHAHA you’re not being very manly, Paolo.

    • reynz says:

all he did was bitchin’. bitchin’ is really nuttin than naggin’ without any direction. he’s like a chicken with a head cut off runnin’ around

    • rob says:

Talaga Malensky? Ahh I forgot he’s just a kid. Doesn’t have enough squid balls to stand to what he wrote tsk tsk tsk.

Boy, wag ka na magtago..Halika iho..Halika..At ipapakain kita sa pitbull ko.

  • Mel says:

Well, well, superwell. To that person hiding under the saya of Facebook, “Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you!?”

  • maxi says:

    another Holly?

  • jimg2940 says:

Paolo Mendoza has been a very very private blogger dating back since when. I really don’t understand why he chose to be. I could only think that he’s probably suffering from delusional grandeur since his philosophical bastard fame. And then he became Yellow,Fishy,Khoops. I followed him around like a groupie but it’s probably because of this why he shuns people like me. And until recently he is the author of VedeoMe. Only to find out that he also stopped writing for this altogether like his other group community which ended up in limbo.

Paoloxide can be reached by invitation only but consider yourself warned!

    • reynz says:

      @jim,

take out the bitchy, nasty, personal crap out of his writings and yes, he does write pretty good. i’d probably invite him to write for barrio if not for his utter hatred to me which i have no clue where it came from. i could only surmise that given the clue which he gave, and as i have suspected all along, indeed, that momblogger who was the very first to spread hatred against reyna elena was her product.

      • pehpot says:

and who is this momblogger may I know who?

ang hirap naman n late gumising, laging huli sa tsismis..asar!

      • BURAOT says:

hay naku…. lalayas ako sa barrio pag pinasok nyo yan dito!

at pwede ba, di sya magaling magsulat. para syang si jester ano? that’s not writing. that’s using high-”polluting” words to confuse readers that what they were reading has an ounce of intellect instead of a pound of mere dictionary materials.

  • Maldito says:

sino next? first is holly, second is this paolo….baka sa susunod si imelda na?ha ha ha..
one lesson from this post is, READ before you bitch back.
Para lang yang tanga na susugod sa gyera na wala nama palang dalang baril.
He might be good in writing, but i guess he will be much better than that if he knows how to read and do a research. Even famous writers know that, i hope he can too.

    • reynz says:

i bet he did’nt see that coming hehehe yun ang sabi nya hehehe i think sabi ni silver he was playing palosebo, tira nang tira nang palayok all over wala namang palayok hehe

  • Silver says:

    Reynz,

Magaling siya sa composition writing, pero when it comes to writing that makes sense, dun siya lumagapak. Sensible writers are able to show their side of argument and analyze both side sides of the stories first before giving out their own take.

  • Emmeline says:

I have no personal affiliation whatsoever with Reynz and I do read some of the blogs of other peeps that aren’t so nice with him (except un Jedi Bloggers coz I haven’t heard him before).. pero dito lang ako sa barrio siete ngcocomment. iba kac comfort level. added din dun sa learning process kac nga iba2.. Articles of Mel are entertaining. And naging lurker na din ako sa sites ng ibang B7 writers. Anyway, I met Reynz here sa www when I was researching for what really caused current financial malaise cguro late 2008 un. In my line of work, I should always be prepared with this kind of stuffs. The article that he wrote was excellent. He explained un transactions from borrower-lender-trading firms-investors (mortgaged back securities). Galing especially the analogies. Para ka may teacher. Thought he was a she.. Syempre, kac reynaelena.. and at the back of my mind, sabi ko CPA toh. that one i got right. So dun na ko na hook sa reynaelena.com. I swear I read 95% of the archive. Minsan 3am na ako natutulog.haha One time 5am na nga ata. and once in a while i leave comments over there. Basta, masaya ako pagngbabasa dun at dito sa B7.

Well Reynz, just thought of telling the peeps this story. It might help other people realize how wrong they are. That they can give it a try. Baka mahook din cla.

    • reynz says:

      wow emmeline!

      ~blush~

      ~BLUSH!~~

      hahaha~

ipapa-kwadro ko to! at sana di mabasa ni benigno otherwise emperor’s clothes na naman to hahaha

      • Monique says:

reynz, ang tawag dyan, liver spread! pinapalaki atay mo sa ganda ng comment. lol. naaah!
I too used to just jump around from one blog to another… pero i thought iba yung tira mo sa mga bagay bagay. you make interesting for people to read. up to the point na mahoo-hook ka. pero meron din naman times i don’t agree… i will just have to muster the courage to comment on those. ;)

      • rob says:

Reynz, galing mo pala sa numero. Magtayo na lang kaya tayo jueteng den dito tate?

      • Mel says:

Ay! Nakakataba ng atay ang sinabi mo Emmeline. Thank you so very much. Hayaan mo at pagbubutihin pa namin ang aming isusulat.

      • reynz says:

        @monique,

hahaha! of course naman, i blog not expecting every single one eh agree sa opinion ko. there’s a way naman to agree on disagreement and i think, yan ang na-muster namen generally sa B7. pramis, not all of us here in B7 agree on everything. marunong naman talaga ako mag-accept nang di mag-agree saken. ganun lang yun. sino ba ang nag-aagree with almost anything? korak? so, buti naman understanding ka. pasensyahan mo na lang mga tirada kong hindi tugma sa pananaw mo hahahaha opinion ko lang yun hehehe

    • Lani says:

Parehong pareho tayo emmeline ng history about how i got hooked with Reyna Elena.com and lately with B7. Pareho din tayo ng feeling kaya bukod tangi sa dalawang blogs mentioned above lang ako nag ko-comment. Thank you Reynz and to all B7 writers. Hats off.

So ibig sabihin isa lamang siyang,…Maantot na hangin.. in short, isang “Utot”.

  • hay nakakalungkot ang ganitong mga pangyayari. I mean why can’t we just all get along… ang laki laki naman ng internet dami dami naman natin bakit kailangan ganito tayo.

why don’t we just pick on our politicians na wala namang ginagawa kundi kakurakutan and push her out of the presidency. why don’t we just help other Filipino know about the wanna be presidents para naman maka-elect tayo ng matinong president sa 2010.

ngayon ko lang nabasa ito, but i heard there was issue on the EIB, dami kasing mahilig sumawsaw sa issue.

hay naku taas noo nalang and deadma and tell them you know who they are lolz smile ka nalang para di nila malaman kung anong iniisip mo.
