TJ Besa’s mis-information campaign against Noynoy Aquino
In the latest barage of Anti-Noynoy Aquino rhetorics, according to Inquirer’s Inside Scoop Pingpong Run,
“Quoting Professor Ed Malay, Director of the Issues and Advocacies Center, “the drop in the survey rating of Noynoy is understandable as the euphoria associated with the death and burial of the late President Cory Aquino has started to wear off.”
Who is the Advocacies Center? As I have blogged in another entry, they describe themselves as:
“Publicity consultants with a mission to “create winning formulas that drive our political media campaigns to achieve the desired results and which are rooted on the highest moral and ethical standards in the pursuit of accurate, truthful and persuasive publicity campaigns.”(Source: Inquirer)”
In English, they are PR consultants. We don’t know who their candidates are, but we do know that they are after Noynoy Aquino.
The next claim by the Inquirer Blog is this: “the drop in the survey rating of Noynoy is understandable…”
Have a look at the latest SWS Survey. There was no drop. Let me put it out again for the Inquirer blog to see if they are blurry with the ratings.
Aquino maintains the lead at 59%. The drop? 1%. But with a margin of error of + or – 3%, statistically, there was no change. I wonder if the author knew that there is a subject in high school and in college called Statistics?!

it’s actually a ‘survival mode’ on the detractors part. i’m very sure they cannot eat the current support base of Noynoy anymore regardless of all their dirty tricks. ang pinag aagawan na lang nila is yung 1-2% undecided voter. mag-uubos lang sila ng marami pang bilyones.

That’s assuming the question asked was “select only ONE” – but the question was NAME THREE – thus, the 59%.
After the Ed Malay survey that claims Noynoy’s ratings have slipped, there is now a rash of articles of on an SWS survey claiming that Noynoy’s ratings remained high.
But did anyone notice that the SWS survey was conducted before the Comelec published the list of approved Presidential candidates?
The survey still includes:
1. Chiz Escudero, accounting for 12 percent
2. Vice President Noli de Castro, 3 percent
3. Bayani Fernando, 1 percent
4. Nicanor Perlas, 1 percent
Perhaps in the next survey, there is a real possibility that people’s preferences will change.
Then again, surveys just tell us which candidate is the popular choice and not which candidate has the best qualifications.

Aside from what was written as “Publicity consultants…”, the issue here is actually very simple and criticizing what was written versus the numbers is not a personal attack and it’s posted in the entry where you say and did not address in your comment.

Isn’t it correct to say that with a margin of error of + or – 3%, statistically, there was no change?
I can’t comment on your next numbers as you have already said you win and you will, so NO to the P1k challenge. Obviously I don’t know what they are (or have I just seen it recently?!) and (we’ll)or I’ll just have to rely on reliable and fair surveys. As far as your numbers are concerned, I do suspect what they’re going to be based on what you have just written. But, in fairness, just to share to you, one B7 writer has already said that Villar’s TV ad is creating an impact even in their own town that everyone is getting to know him (not all in the Barrio are Noynoy btw). At least the TV ad works. Will that translate into Villar converts? How would people react to the latest news? I would seem to believe that Noynoy’s nunber will go down given that Erap/Perlas are back. How low? Let’s see.
That’s why it would be interesting to see the new numbers given the barraged of TV ad by Villar plus the latest reports on the Senate’s censure and the C5 expose plus the “new” entrants.
Now, in terms of this site being useless, that’s your opinion. I’m sure some at the Inquirer will disagree with you.
If you don’t want criticism of your rankings, then hide it.
I don’t know noynoy personally. what I know is, he doesn’t have an accomplishment that he could be personally proud of and tell the filipino people that he is the man. Integrity? I don’t know because who among us could say that this man has integrity if we don’t know him.
I’d rather vote for people who are winners in the past and present like villar and gordon. At least I could bet on someone which has a higher probability of doing things, not bet on people’s hysteria because his mother died.
What probability of doing things? Yahh! probably dagdagan pa ang pangungurakot ni Villar. What did Villar do but to balloon his assets!. Sipag at tyaga? nahh! first pinangasawa nya ang anak mayaman at hindi pa sya politiko nun at muntik ma bankruft ang Camilla Homes, pero after naging politiko sya ay yon na umarangkada. Ibig sabihin nun nung hindi pa sya politiko ay muntik nang mag bankruft si Villar, after naging politiko ay umarangkada. Ginagamit nya ang position para sa kanyang pabor at kung inosente sya ay harapin nya ang alegasyon sa kanya sa senado. Pwede iba pero wag lang si Villar at higitan pa nya si GMA for sure. Manggagamit si Villar at una ginamit nya asawa nya at pangalawa ay ginagamit nya position para sa kanyang kapakanan.

I am once again betting that Aquino’s ratings will drop even further. Basis will be the first published survey on any major daily after today.
In spite of new entrants, as you call it, or anything else,Noy’s surveys are continuing to dive.
I’m not sure about Villar converts, nor was that an issue in my article. In fact, I did not campaign for anyone thru the piece I wrote. The focus was on Noynoy alone.
And yes, I was personally attacked by someone in your group who called me a paid hack. I am not. I look forward to meeting that individual, in person, very soon.
BTW, how do I post pics on this forum? I have photos to prove that the Aquino proclamation was as empty as his head.

yes, i am following the rankings and i think i blogged about the fact that villar’s tv ads were very successful, in fact, what noynoy has to do is pirate Villar’s campaign staff because they’re doing a great job. of course, i have my own doubts and i hope it’s not the survey coming from “publicity consultants”

Do you let majority opinion, the popular choice, be your basis for deciding the truth, what is meritorious, what is sensible? Hitler’s extermination of Jews wouldn’t have been righted even if the majority of Germans approved of it. Jesus’ torture and execution would not have been righted even if majority of Jews agreed to it. God is and creation has been even if we all denied it.
Let’s set aside the numbers, and diligently, objectively and individually examine the qualifications and merits of each of the candidates. This way we don’t write-off tail-enders. Let not Bobby Jaworski beat Bobby de Ocampo again.

Academic and professional track record and achievements as indicators of competence, character, ability to lead. We can’t do away with these indicators. Are there better ones?
