Vice President Nominees: Who would you pick in Halalan 2010?

25 February 2010 22 Comments

Let’s face it, in every election period – the presidentiables get all the scrutiny.

Now, I wonder mga ka-barrio…

Do you still care about our Vice President nominees?

Well, I am one of those voters who really do.

So…

Kindly help me out as I am torn between these four hopefuls. Here are my picks in no random order:

Bayani Fernando

This former MMDA Chairman really caught my attention before as he literally painted the town pink! Generally, I admire this guy because he has this ‘great’ attitude in terms of discipline. His fantastic work in Marikina is also a great feat. No wonder – the Marikina people love him!

Jejomar Binay

This honorable Mayor has a stellar performance in the city of Makati. This veteran politician too has been in the office since 1986. Hindi rin naman matatawaran ang kanyang leadership skills – just look at the Makati City Central Business District and see the progress since he assumed the office.

Loren Legarda

Senator Loren Legarda is the only rose among the thorns seeking for a VP position this 2010. However, she is undeniably the most experienced as she first ran for Vice President in 2004. As we can recall, the VP was a neck-to-neck race but she was beaten by Noli de Castro in a narrow margin. Interestingly, the stigma of  ‘always a bridesmaid but never a bride’ too seemed to be on her side as she is now in second to Mar Roxas in terms of the survey. So, will the luck be at her side this time? Tignan natin.

Mar Roxas

mar-roxas

A consistent top notcher in the VP survey, it will be no surprise if Senator Mar Roxas will become a runaway winner this 2010. Like his running mate, this VP nominee also comes from a notable political family as he is the son of former Senator Gerry Roxas and a grandson of former President Manuel Roxas. As we all know, Roxas was initially a leading contender for the Presidential race but he make way to Noynoy Aquino in a graceful manner.

To be honest, I know anyone of them can be a good Vice President of the Philippines and since, there is still a couple months to decide – medyo may oras pa talaga para mamili.

So, who do you think would be the 15th Vice President of the Philippines  guys and gals? I am sure you also want the rightful winner like I do. ;)

Cheers,

VPs hold a very important position in the government. Look at what happened to GMA when Erap was ousted. Yun lang nga, we thought GMA would be way better than Erap. Well, in one way, she is… on the negative side. Erap was not able to hide yung nanakaw niya, si GMA, ang galing magpaikot eh.

Anyway, I hope we all vote intelligently come May!

Whatever happened to Noli? I thought he was gonna run again?

  • Norman Castillo says:

The Makati Business District is developed and maintained by the Ayalas. Binay has nothing to do with it.

    • promking says:

but without Binay, your Ayalas would pick some other place. they will never choose Makati for a central business district.

      • Jaime Zobel says:

The Ayalas were in Makati even before we knew Binay existed.

        • Silver says:

Mas nadevelop ang ibang social services under his term like yung yellow card and uber free education (as in free ang lahat – mula ballpen hanggang uniform).

Take it from somebody na naging product ng public school sa Makati.

  • Leo says:

please cross-out legarda, either of the 3 gentleman is ok, but mar is much better. :)

  • Mel says:

I’m choosing between Binay, Mar and former SEC chair Perfecto Yasay. We’ll see.

  • Mel says:

Ayoko kay BF because he likes pink. It’s so gay. I don’t like gay and things gay. Bwahaha!

Bwahaha!

      bwahahahaha! ~sending email~ hahahaha !click!

  • Johnonymous says:

As a guy who grew up in Marikina, I liked BF… He has implemented many things… kaso nahahaluan na ng sarili nyang branding like the colors Pink and Green (sa una).

    I cannot judge beyond this..

  • Johnonymous says:

Legarda – I am not sure how she can bring value to our votes… So far, I have not heard any of her.

  • Jet says:

There was a time when every Filipino was in agreement that what the Philippines lack is strong Political Will in government…and Bayani Fernando showed us what it was all about… Only for Filipinos to backtrack, and admit that we are not prepared to have it :( Sad….. Still im sticking with BF !!!

  • mark says:

Bayani Fernando is too arrogant for his own good. May political will, political will pang nalalaman. Disiplina daw ang kailangan. Simple lang yan, how can you expect a man who himself violates traffic rules (si chairman lagi kong nakikitang may hagad at nagka-counter flow sa mga lansangan) to solve the traffic problem in the metro? And those useless U-turn slots?

Doesn’t that run counter to the ideals of Edsa?

    Loren? Nevermind….

I am voting for Mar Roxas. Pwede na din si Jun Yasay. Ayoko lang talaga si Bro. Eddie.

  • yen678 says:

… it’s Mar Roxas for me because of his track record… he and Noynoy are the best tandem.

  • Kutz says:

I go for Mar Roxas. You will never understand the sentiment of the southerners unless you have roots there.

  • johnb1 says:

    Binay….No doubt about it… ^_^
