What’s up, Comelec?

25 February 2010 14 Comments

Hello mga friendship! Juice ko ‘day kamusta naman kayo?

Well, if you ask me, heto pula pa rin ang aking hasang at nananatili pa rin ang ganda despite the fact na andaming pambabato ang aming natanggap dito sa Barrio Siete for the past few days.

Ilang tulog na lang ay magaganap na ang naturang historical event, the very first automated elections in the Philippines. That is, kung matuloy man ang ito at hindi ito madedeklarang failure. Because from what I’m seeing now, mukhang hindi pa yata totally handa ang Comelec. Marami pa ring isyu ang naglipana at kelangang bigyang kasagutan, pronto.

main_about_voting_ballot

And what about yung mga pending cases and petitions ng mga kumakandidato ngayong eleksiyon.

Maybe they need to try harder and they have to do things faster.

Kelangan pala ng precision and technique on shading.

I think we need more information dissemination.

Nabasa mo ba to? (paste ko link later – nawala ko!)

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has decided to alter the appearance of the ballot box that will be used in the May automated elections as an additional measure to protect the ballots.

The ballot box would now be black instead of transparent in order to protect the UV markings on the ballots, according to Comelec spokesman James Jimenez in an interview Tuesday.

“The UV markings are susceptible to sunlight,” Jimenez explained. “When you have the markings exposed to sunlight for an extended period of time, then they might fade, so that’s why it has to be black.”

Alam mo yon?

Nag-prepare nga ba talaga ang Comelec? 70 days or sum’tin na lang and I read na 70% ata nang botante have no clue on how to use the machine.

Ano yon? Dry run? Minsan iniisip ko, pinag-lalaruan ako ni NOEL. Alam mo yon? HAHAHA

    Eto na: http://www.gmanews.tv/story/184577/comelec-makes-last-minute-change-in-ballot-box-design

    • Mel says:

Oo ate reynz, it was in the news. Kaloka itong comelec.

      • Johnonymous says:

And… imagine kung magkano yung bawat unit ng boxes na yun… something between 70-90 dollars basta nabanggit yung exact amount sa TV patrol. Ang mahal nun!

I just felt na pinagkaperahan ang budget…

        • reynz says:

i think ung several weeks ago na testing nung transmission was not good. not exactly sure kung random sampling ba yon or kung ilang machines ang na-test. taz wala nang follow up news akong nabasa. basta ang sumunod, ultimo si villar eh nag-rereklamo na we are not ready for automation. i don’t understand why 70 days going into the election ganito ang nangyayari – nakangiti na naman ba si NOEL? hahaha

  • promking says:

expenses means progress. ganyan naman talaga dapat.

    • Johnonymous says:

Anticipation is another progressive way of preventing further, unnecessary (development) expenses… hahahaha… bati tayo ha!

Iyang mga yan! Niloloko na lang lagi ang taong nagbubuwis…

    • Mel says:

Ganun? Hindi naman siguro tama yun. Sana napag-aralan na nila ang mga kapalpakang natatamasa ng Comelec ngayon in the first place. hindi na sana gumastos ng panibago.

    • Snow says:

      @promking,
Our government spent a lot of money. But where is the progress?! Taun-taon solons and government agencies have monies to burn but I can’t see dramatic progress. :(

      • Silver says:

        • Snow says:

same here silver. imagine, super bawas agad sa sweldo pero hindi mo alam kung saan napupunta. just imagine, there are millions of pinoy working here and abroad – we pay for sss, philhealth and pagibig. pero duh? kulang pa rin! :(

  • Snow says:

I am not against the automation pero ang hirap kasi:

As a voter, duda ako.

  • an2nette says:

nagpriprinting pa lang ng ballots diyan sa atin? dito nakaboto na kami as absentee voters, bale postal voting kasi, naloka ako sa dami ng kandidato na hindi ko kakilala 3 pages back to back, sa party list na lang 187 ang pagpipilian, 61 sa senator, sumakit ang ulo ko, kung pwede nga lang none of the above ang ilagay

  • reynz says:

    http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/breakingnews/infotech/view/20100225-255301/60000-poll-machines-pass-stress-tests-ready-for-pollsComelec

Over 60,000 poll machines are ready to be used for the first-ever national automated polls in May, Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman Jose Melo announced on Thursday.

Melo made the announcement after his visit to the Comelec warehouse in Laguna. Melo expressed satisfaction over the results of the laboratory stress tests and other operational tests conducted on the machines.

After all 60,000 poll machines passed the operational and security testing, Melo said they are ready to load the machines with the automation software certified by international agency Systest Labs.

About 13,000 precinct count optical scan machines are set to arrive February 26, two days earlier than the delivery deadline. Installing the certified software on the poll machines will continue until March, when all poll machines have been tested.
