Why Bloggers Fail And What To Do To Avoid It

I read a lot of blogs. Some of them are from online celebrities and some are from my local tribe. And recently, there are around 16 blogs that don’t get updated anymore. Since I’m a curious reader, I try asking the authors on why they’re not writing anymore.
Many of these where full of energy and enthusiasm when they started but as months pass by, the energy level went down. They are very similar to a tornado. Started strong and suddenly disappears.
We all fail but sometimes we don’t have any clue or whatsoever on why we failed. Let me share why 16 of my favorite blogs suddenly disappeared.
I Lost My Passion – Really? When I came to understand what I’m passionate about, I was so excited and tried remembering how it feels. My work online and offline played around what I’m passionate about. My passion is my treasure, my compass, my map and my blueprint. Why should I let it disappear?
I Have No Time – You should ask this before you start blogging. Will you have the time to write what you’re passionate about? How committed are you in giving that time? A day has 24 hours right?
I Have No More Idea – This is a common one for those who have diverse set of topics ranging from politics, showbiz, life, work and lifestyle. Wanted to be a jack of all trades? I don’t know but wouldn’t it be easier to focus on something first then expand?
It’s Just A Hobby – This was an excuse of a Make Money Online blogger who stopped blogging because he’s not making hobby money anymore. I was wondering, if he treated his blog as his business with a business model, what would be the results? I guess business money?
I Can’t Make It Grow – For someone who’s been blogging for 6 months, this is a terrible excuse to stop blogging. There is no such thing as instant success. You need to work your ass off to earn respect and authority in the online world.
I was taught to treat everything I do as a startup business. Baby steps and growing pains are part of the process and if things like these are not your type of cuisine, please, think a hundred times before you start a blog.
It’s so easy to start a blog but maintaining it is another story, another challenge for you to take care of. And for you not to fail here are some tips I learned along the way.
Create A Plan – You don’t just buy a fancy domain name, hosting space and install wordpress then viola! No, what is it that you want to share to other people. Create a roadmap and post that in front of you machine to remind you where you want to go.
Create Value – With things you wanted to share, what value does it have for your readers? Answer the question “Why Should I Read Your Post?”. The more you understand this; you can avoid not creating good content.
Build Relationships – Not the mushy type of relationship but relationships that emulates camaraderie. Do not focus with the numbers but with the quality of people who you build relationships with.
Solve A Problem – People go searching in the internet to be entertained, be informed and to look for solutions with their problem. Identify a problem in your chosen niche or topic and offer simple solutions that people can use.
Be Human – Remember to be honest, do not give false hopes to your readers or mislead them in believing that they will make so much money or what you’re offering is a silver bullet solution. Say what it true, even if it will hurt.
I’ll stop talking now. It’s your turn to give your thoughts about why bloggers fail and how to avoid it. I would love to learn from you too. So, pop that comment below and let’s talk about it.

hehehe! i know one. this one can’t find time to update his blog no more hehehe
if you’re coming in really just to ride the wave, the wave will eventually hit the shore and disappear, then off you go nowhere to go of course.
what people believe to be passion in the beginning is actually fashion, doing the fad, you know. and it’s not just passion coz passion without focus is like a headless chicken runnin’ around to nowhere
it gets tougher, with passion and focus, the hope is to get the right formula that would tick. tama ba?
Yep! And getting the right formula takes time. This is why some people, successful in this path, took awhile to start their blogs. It takes tremendous amount of patience, determination and passion to push things up.
Plus of course, getting rid of excuses that hinders us from reaching our goals, is a pain. But that’s just me babbling. Let’s here it from other bloggers.
