Will there be an automatic People Power if Noynoy Aquino is not declared the next president?
Have anyone of you read this very interesting piece of news by ABS-CBN? In it’s opening paragraph, it says “The security of the first nationwide automated elections in May is in the hands of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Makatarungan” Class of 1978, the batch that adopted President Arroyo as an honorary member. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), from the top, is packed with President Arroyo’s “mistahs.”
What it means is that, Gloria Arroyo might not be in power anymore but the AFP and the PNP has a lot of Gloria loyalists whatever happens after the May 2010 elections.
From the very start, Noynoy Aquino has been leading the pack, surveys after surveys. At one point, Manny Villar was able to catch up only to slump back and continue to lose ground being tagged as the secret candidate of Gloria Arroyo, thus, the “Villaroyo” tag. Include the C5 scandal, the Tondo poor story, the fake psychiatric test and now, the Vista Land IPO.
Like what Ellen Tordesillas has said: “Huwag lang mangisay si Noynoy Aquino (Liberal Party) habang nangangampanya sa naiwang dalawang linggo bago eleksyun, mukhang siya na ang magiging sunod na pangulo ng Pilipinas.”
It’s true! If you asked me, the only way for Noynoy Aquino to lose this election is for him to be cheated – massive cheating.
Here’s my question to all of you: Will there be an automatic People Power if Noynoy Aquino is not declared the next president?

I have been to far barrios the past week, and it seems there’s going to be a massive vote buying of rural votes for the Presidential elections (nakalista na raw ang mga pangalan). At 50 pesos per vote – 100M pesos can buy 2M votes, and what if the billionaire is ready to spend 500M pesos? or 1 Billion?
It is not over until it is over.
For our sake, I hope not. I will vote for Noynoy but if he will not win, whoever gets elected will be my president as well. I just hope that there will be no reason for us to go to the streets again. I hope this election is honest and peaceful. I hope.
So long as the elections are credible, no need to go to the streets if Sen. Noy doesn’t win.
Pero kelangan pa rin maging vigilant. Na hello garci na tayo nung 2004. Huwag na sana maulit.

I agree with fz. I can accept any of the other presidentiables. With all his questionable and unethical use of power that earned him mega millions according to reports, he has proven himself as a corrupt businessman and politician. Pag siya ang naging prez, tatalbogan niya si Meldy who said “we owned the Philippines”.
Everyone has to be vigilant. From the moment that each one’s ballot is cast, you have to make sure that this thing will work for the Philippines. Kahit konti, may natitira pa naman akong hope for the Philippines, and we have to really pray hard that the next president will not BS us again. And that we too will not allow to be BS’d (again!)

Unless na may malawakang election fraud or total failure of elections due to human factors, then why not. Mag-ingat sila sa paggamit ng people power kasi minsan, yang word na yan e ginagamit ng mga propagandista na sinusulong ang kanilang pansariling interes.
Tingnan nyo ang EDSA DOS. Isang malaking FAKE NA PEOPLE POWER YUN. Yung mga promotor nun e hindi na lang ibinigay sa korte ang kaso ni Erap, hindi nila hinayaang gumulong ang hustisya. Instead, ang ibinigay pa nila e mas masahol pa kay Erap – si Gloring.

honestly, i think this blog is biased. how would you know that he has a high chance of winning? why is ‘massive cheating’ the only reason he’ll lose?
we cannot rely on Surveys to determine who the next president will be–come on. Ask yourself, have you been asked, or do you know someone who has been asked by SWS or Pulse Asia? I don’t think so.
Many of my acquaintances are pro-Gibo, although I can see the masses cling to Villar. Others have their own reasons for choosing this or that president. But we’ll have to wait until May 10 to know who’ll get the majority of votes.
May all of us practice wisdom and honesty come election day.

Wala pang May 10. All of us are operating on assumptions pa lang so expect that the real results will come out after the election has been done.
Ikaw na din ang may sabi na people have their own reasons in choosing a president. Then let them be. Kung gusto ng kaibigan mo e si Noynoy, hayaan mo. Kung gusto ng nanay at tatay mo e si Villar e hayaan mo lang din.
I have friends na may kanya-kanyang presidential choice – I dont fight with them. Instead, I lend them an understanding that on May 10, we are obliged to make a choice for our nation and they have their own reasons for choosing their own.

Kung sa war nga kahit paano may respeto at bawal gumamit ng hindi Full Metal Jacket, sa eleksyon pa…People Power?! What! Lupet naman talaga.
Nagkaroon lang naman ng People Power 2 na sinasabi nila dahil sa mga estudyante. Pinaniwala nila ang mga estudyante ng highschool at college noon na makakabuti sa bansa na pumunta sa EDSA at tanggalin si ERAP sa posisyon at nagawa naman nila. Sana lang ngayon ang mga botanteng mga Pinoy eh wag magpaka-tanga. Di ko sasabihin kung sino ang iboboto ko pero ito lang ang masasabi ko. Walang magagawa ang isang taong natutulog ng nakatayo o nakaupo. Walang magagawa ang isang taong di marunong panindigan ang sarili niang prinsipyo at lalong walang magagawa ang isang taong walang karanasan sa pakikipagkapwa-tao. Hacienda Luisita ay isang uri ng halimbawa na hindi magiging mabuting pinuno si NoyNoy. Ano bang nagawa niya sa mga magsasaka sa Hacienda nila? Php 9.50? Paano mabubuhay ang isang tao sa ganyan kaliit na sweldo araw-araw? Sardinas nga pumapatak na ng Php 11 ngaun pano pa ang bigas? Ganyan ba tratuhin ng isang taong walang bahid korupsyon, may moral at maka-Diyos ang mga taong pinamumunuan niya? Pinoy magisip-isip ka naman. Sa totoo lang walang kwenta ang bansa natin. Walang batas. Pera ang Batas. Walang Disiplina ang tao. Didisiplinahin mo magagalit pa sa iyo. Di ka uunlad Kabayan kung puro ka reklamo at gusto mo ng madaliang pag-unlad. Walang ganon. At wala ring tao na makakapagsabi na kaya niyang burahin ang kahirapan sa bansa. Aksyon di puro Salita. Integridad at Plano na alam mong Ipatupad. Bansa bago sarili. At hindi porke’t anak ka ng yumaong mga bayani eh magiging bayani ka narin. Hindi ikaw ang Nanay o Tatay mo. Ang isang tao ay dapat binabatay sa kung anong nagawa niya hindi ng mga kamaganakan niya. Ang masama nagtatagumpay dahil ang mabuti wala ng ginawa. Hindi masamang maging maayos ang mga Pinoy. Hindi masamang maging edukado ang bawat batang makikita mo sa lansangan at hindi rin masama na maging matatag sa batas ang magiging pinuno ng bansa. Hindi natin kelangan ng mabait “kuno” na tao na maging presidente. Kelangan natin ng taong maiprepresenta tayo sa buong mundo at makakagawa ng pagbabago sa bansa tungo sa pagunlad at hindi pagtulog. Nasa estado ang Pinas ngayon na parang komatos. Di na umunlad pagkatapos ng panahong Marcos. Baket? Sinong presidente ba ang nag-maintain ng ekonomiya ng bansa na Php 1= Usd 1? Wala naman diba? Lalo lang lumalala. Tumataas ng tumataas ang diperensya ng dolyar imbers na bumaba. Nakakahiya sa ibang Asyanong Bansa. Na dating nakatingala satin ngayon tayo ang nakatingala sa kanila. Nakakahiya sa ating mga Pinoy. Kung ang pinuno ay hindi matatag sa bawat sasabihin niya, kilos, at gawa walang mangyayari sa bansa. Pare-pareho tayong pupulutin sa kangkungan.
Noynoy is not the best bet for President for he has done nothing while in the senate.How much more being the President. Damn those surveys. They can’t account for even 20 percent of the population but their still taken as official! THEY ARE NOT!
Poll surveys have been discredited by almost every other nation on this blue earth, so why is the Philippines still relying on them? Are we REALLY that backwater a country?
Not only are they falsely generalizing the vote of the over 90 million people in this country, they are psyching the voters to think and accept something as fact when it clearly is not.
People end up changing their original vote because they think that it would be useless to vote for this or that candidate because the polls say that that candidate is a far cry from getting a chance to win; they end up feeling that if they voted for their original candidate, their vote would have been wasted.
Poll surveys should have an attached disclaimer or warning whenever they are presented to the public, stating not just the percentages but the EXACT number of people who were surveyed to get the results. Otherwise, those who did the surveys and those who presented them to the public are just lying to the masses.
Alam niyo ba kung bakit may dayaan?
In my perspective…
It’s because the expectation and act of cheating is so ingrained in Philippine elections it’s hard to stop it from happening.
Even before the elections happen people are already thinking that some form of cheating will happen. It’s become such a common expectation that the moral binding that would have stopped people from cheating during elections no longer hold much water.
In other words: “People already expect it to happen anyway.”
How about the next time we have an election, let’s expect a clean one. Send a blast of that message through every form of media possible. Don’t say “we should have a clean election.” SAY: “This election WILL BE a CLEAN one.”
